This has to be among the best of your presentations. I know that this took a lot of time to produce. Thank you for: showing us this place; alerting us to Casey Off Road Recovery; Grand Circle Tours, and some incredible photos.
You're welcome and thank you for appreciating them!
Absolutely loved this mystical ornate natural wonder area.
Wow! What a fantastic place! Another wonderful presentation.
My goodness what a hike! The views were worth the stretch. 🔥🔥
Gorgeous colors 😍 Very well done just like the WAVE was. Thank you very much 😊.
Stunning.. thanks for sharing. This is on the bucket list!
You're welcome! Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for the wonderful video, our group was out there April.22, 2022 for 3 day in our Truck Campers. We'll be returning to this wonderland.
Great video! Thanks for showing us such complex and amazing beauty...and thanks for the warnings and the plugs...very helpful!
You're welcome and thanks for commenting!
I was here for 4 time. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions and advice to help us. All best to you. Amnon. In NYC.
You're welcome and thanks for commenting Amnon!
Beautifully done. I have hiked the Wave but never White Pocket. What a gorgeous place.
Thank you and thanks for commenting.
Enjoyed the video! White Pocket is a fascinating place, and you don’t need a permit to explore it. If you are looking for an incredible place to video or photograph, this is the place.
Thank you and thanks for commenting
Brilliant! Looking forward to be there in late September early October. Thank you for the introduction and carefully planned navigation. 🙏
You're welcome. Thanks for commenting. Have a good trip.
As usual, a very well made presentation. Always a pleasure to watch. Long time subscriber. Having lived in So Cal for 50+ years I know many of these areas.
Keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting.
We were there on 9/27 and were blown away by it. We had been on a two week trip from KC to Moab and down through the Magnificent 5 NPs. We had a Jeep rented and had to air down to 20 PSI. We mistakenly went through the middle portion of VC and upwards, much tougher trails than this one in and no signs! This video would have helped us navigate tremendously, thanks!
Thank you so much for this adventure. I live in Florida and am 80 ,so I’ll probably never get there. So through your eyes I travel. ❤
This is awesome! very detailed and informative, we were trying to decide if we should follow a tour guide or just do it ourself and what to expect. Got all that from your gorgeous video !!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting.
Wow you guys a epic can’t thank you enough really be heading there next Gulch on Sat/ White pocket Sunday
Your info and advice is so appreciated
Happy hiking 🤙
Glad you liked it and found it useful. Thanks for commenting!
I visited the White Pocket this last April with a tour guide and now your video helped me orient myself in the complex and amazing landscape I saw. You have a talent in making really interesting and informative videos. Please continue to do so. Thank you very much!
You're welcome and thanks for commenting! Yes, it's an amazing landscape.
Gorgeous
Another superb guide to a remote area. The footage, maps and explanations are clear and idiot-proof and that means anyone can understand them. I haven't seen anything better.
Thank you very much! We aim to please!!
Your work of this video are amazing, a ton of information and knowledge I've been there 2 years ago but missed alot of things 😅. Thank you for your time and work. ❤
Thank for your comments, they are appreciated! Yes, every time we go there, we something new.
It the best, the only professional guide ever!
Thank you!
Wow, very nice, I have done some exploring in the S/W, Escalante Grand Staircase, slot canyons, but have always wanted to go here, I would almost rather go here than the Wave, beautiful area, thanks for sharing! Beautiful photos!
You're welcome and thanks for commenting
Excellent presentation. This will help my friends get there easily. I have been there three times and never get bored. I still need to get to the other section that is 1/2 mile walk away.
Thank you!
Surreally stunning formations. Many years ago I flew the RV6-A I had built over White Pocket, but I'm old now and will probably never have the opportunity to see it at ground level. Thank you for this terrific tour.
You're very welcome and thanks for commenting! Some day, I would like to see all of the Paria Plateau from about 2-5 thousand feet.
@@BackRoadsWest1 I'd be delighted to take you if I could still fly, but medical issues prevent it. The Paria plateau is an astonishing landscape , and seen from low altitude you can hardly imagine.
@@michaelshea5165 thanks for the heart-felt offer. I'll need to find me a pilot and perhaps enough footage to create a video similar to this czcams.com/video/D68sSOLKCac/video.html
Very well done! Thank you! BTW, what tire pressure did you deflate to for the sand?
Thank you. Everyone's tires are different these days, but mine I lowered the PSI to 25. That's a good medium PSI. If you get stuck, you can always lower it more, just not below 15, but then again that depends on your tires.
Thank you for this inspiring and informative video! We really enjoyed exploring White Pocket with you. We noticed you mention April-May would be a good time to visit. How is the heat there the third week of May? Thank you for any information.
Sorry, I missed your comment. Third week of May? Should be good. But you can never second guess the weather. You're welcome and thanks for commenting.
Thank you for another great video! Please list all the music that you use. I really like the first one. Thanks.
You're welcome and thank you for watching. The music is from Storyblocks.com.
@@BackRoadsWest1 Is there a name or list of the music you used?
Love your videos... Question: Comparing traveling/driving to White Pocket to Little Finland (in excellent weather), which trip was more difficult driving in a high clearance vehicle? Or were they about the same?
Reference: Based on your older Little Finland video and excellent instruction, I drove to Little Finland, twice over the years and it was challenging, but very doable.
Thank you in advance.
Hi - sorry for the late reply - been traveling. Little Finland is probably an easier drive. It's so popular now, you can navigate to it with Google Maps. There is one tough spot to drive towards the end. Or you can simply hike in from the coral as described. White Pocket has jagged rocks and deep sand as described. It's also now well traveled (unfortunately) that has smoothed out the road. Hope that helps!
Thank you! @@BackRoadsWest1
Nicely done! I have to ask what was the music you used?
I love the music too. Like to know what he used
Thanks! See Storyblocks.com
What month(s) would you say is the best to visit there?
I'd target April-May and Oct-Nov, but check 10-day forecast before setting out
You missed the Indian petrogyphs!
Yes, by the cave? There's some "cowboy-glyphs" there too. I didn't have any good pictures of them, so I didn't include that stop.
So no AWDs like Outback can make it there.
Maybe. It depends on conditions.
What you call "brain rock" I have heard called "elephant skin" :)
Interesting. No, never heard anyone refer to it as elephant skin. Most geologists and tour guides I've encountered mostly call it brain rock and some call it cauliflower rock.
i read it somewhere... Dinosaur ballsack ...
FYI: I think your backroadswest blog has been hacked by viagra and cialis commercials.
Which posts? I don't see any.
@@BackRoadsWest1 on the intro descriptions of the trips. not all, just some.
Eric, thank you for calling my attention to this. The reason why I wasn't seeing the offending content was because it would only show on the home page, not any of the posts. I've been going into each post and clearing out the section just below the header. Too bad people have to do crap like this to succeed in life.
