Wrong! You are half right. No Pence ever! He was President Trumps most serious mistake thus far, he doesn't support the Trump vision that we voted for. He is extremely liberal on immigration, while in Congress he supported amnesty. He is to Trump like George Bush 41 was to Reagan, be a dutiful VP and when he took over for himself went batshit liberal on us, sorry absolutely not.

I think a lot of Trump voters were looking for Trump to pick a VP that is like him, someone who wasn't your standard core Republican like Bush or Pence. However, Trump himself is really not all that appealing to the more Pence-Bush version of conservatism, and a large number of the more classical conservatives didn't like Trump at all, and he needed a way to get these guys on board with him.
Pence is Trump's way to try to keep the Republican party together. Last thing we can afford right now is to have a civil war in the party between the Trump brand of conservatism and the Pence/Bush brand of conservatism when we have the Democrats to worry about.
