If buying isn’t owning, piracy isn’t stealing
facts
this is actually so true, if you cant own stuff even if you pay for it then what's the point in paying for it, you aren't paying to own it so even if you pirate it you still don't own it but you aren't paying basically a fee for being able to watch it or play it
@@fhdang8978 yep, subscriptions are the most evil business model. “You’ll own nothing and be happy!” they say.

As an adult re-watching this, they literally glorified every single thing. The dramatic download bar like it's mission impossible, the bombastic music, the leather jacket thief, the faceless suit and tie crook, it looks like some epic heist movie rather than deterring anyone from piracy. What the hell were they thinking? 😂
It would be about a million times more effective if they just showed the possibility of getting malware and all your personal data stolen. Instead they try to take this weird morality take despite it being an obviously victimless crime.
If anything it makes it seem like pirating is edgy and cool, basically encouraging it 😂😂😂
When I was younger, this ad actually turned my friends and I onto pirating because of how greatly this ad unintentionally glorified it. We genuinely thought we were pulling off a high stakes, level heist

The true irony is now piracy is a form of preservation in a world where companies have streaming services and can pull content on a whim after you purchase it and when a lot of films or TV shows aren’t available on streaming due to licensing issues.
@LordBacon235 I concur. I'm certainly not doing away with my DVDs and Blu-Rays just yet.
Apart from the fact that thousands pirate movies from indie studios that are barely making it through, taking money off larger studios makes the whole film industry poorer, meaning that the indie or daring films are the ones that won't get funding. And that's all apart from the fact that it gives money to the sort of people who often also run dark web websites with child porn or selling black market stuff. Preserving films is a worthy effort, but piracy is not.
So TRUE, especially for console games where backwards compatibility is never guaranteed.
