Kewl video m8 cheers looking forward to the next one
Really appreciate these videos, very soothing to watch but is also making a difference to how I care for/maintain my bikes. The little touches such as fresh grease and lube make a big improvement 👌
Nice to hear. 🧡
Brilliant video. thank you so much for posting - I am learning so much from them.
Amazing Job! The bike is like night and day.
Nice I have been wondering this exact question about the ultrasonic cleaner and the degreaser! Really appreciate your videos.
Couldn't ask for better videos! Exactly what I wanted to know from your other videos!
Thanks max!🚲
Another interesting video, thanks. How about an overview of how you use the microfiber cloths from new to filthy, washing etc
Very interesting. Greetings from Greece...
Greetings to you in Greece.
@@Bikespeeds thanks overall for your job. It's very helpful and relaxing some times to watch you. I am happy because you show us not only road bikes but and MTB...
Say a very good video most i did know but now it makes sense i saw loads of videos where people did clean there anodysed parts in the ultrasonic cleaner and all complained about losing the coating. Now like you do it dont add heat in the UC. Thanks for the advice and i do clean all my bike parts in the UC and im very pleased. Thx 4 the video😊
No problem! Thanks for watching 🧡
Hy ! Thank you again for another amazing video ! I hope this channel will grow fast because this is the best quality mechanic on youtube! I recognize myself washing the bike like is about to go under a surgery...so for me this is always the movie night!
Kind words, thank you 🧡
Great videos mate. How long does the cleaning process take?
i'm buying one :)
What do you charge for this?
I’ve been looking at offering an ultrasonic cleaning service but I’m unsure what to charge on top of the basic service charge.
Hi, thank you for great content. Really appreciated and useful for a home mechanic. I was just wondering if you dillute the degreaser or use it concentrated?
It’s a water soluble one, so we use it neat and wash it off when we wash the parts as they come out.
I've been trying to shop for this but, nobody ever mentioned what volume do we need, 3l,5,6, 10 or more Liter in order to be able to completely submerge a 40T cassete inside together with front 54t front cogs chains and other drivetrain parts? what frequency & wattage should the device be capable of for for most efficiency? what detergent should one use? they sell some detergent with the device but, can one use just water and dish detergent and a bit of aceton, thinner isopropyl alcohol or some other sort of industrial degreaser. These are question I wish they answered with this video.
Hi, thanks for the great tip about anodising. I’ve made that mistake before and had dull parts coming out.
How long do you leave things in the ultrasonic cleaner? I’m concerned that if left long enough, anodised parts would also be affected on a cold setting.
Only just found your channel and I’m really enjoying the videos so far - cheers!
We leave things in for 10-15 minutes then scrub them ourselves after🧡⚙️
What model is this cleaner? Name?
Great video, it makes me want to go out and buy an ultrasonic cleaner! Do you change the degreaser depending on what you put in, or can it last a couple of "goes" so to speak? Keep up the very good work!
It actually lasts quite a while, it will loose it’s efficiency & you’ll naturally know when to change it. The degreasers cheap as chips so it’s no big deal to swap it. I buy the degreaser 2 or 3 at a time depending on the time of year.
@@Bikespeeds What size does is your degreaser? I've heard that you can get them in two, three and six litre sizes.
Is liquid dish soap okay?
what size cleaner would you recommend for a home mechanic that is looking mainly to clean chains and cassettes? I'm guessing you could half the size of your 6L cleaner. Bench and storage space is at a premium! Thanks
You can make and reasonable size work, we initially had a 4L I believe and just put less in it at one time and turned what was in it🧡
Thank you so much for your videos. I just have one question. I've almost exactly copied your setup, however I think Screwfix have updated the No Nonsense Heavy Duty Degreaser. It now specifies it's "concentrated" on the front. Do you still get this one and are you using it neat? I've just tried it the first time this evening with the degreaser diluted and I'm quite disappointed.
I found the same thing. Did you try it undiluted?
Hi mate, excellent video, about to order a machine today! Do you know where you got that specific detailing brush from? I wanna order one of those aswell.
We are going to be selling them ourselves on our own website very soon, would be a massive help to the channel if you checked back a few weeks from now and we’ll have it launched 🧡
@@Bikespeeds ok I will do, thanks
Would be interesting to know the differnces in the process of cleaning a mechanic vs. Electronic groupset. Can you share some Insight?
We only hand clean electric!🧡
Exceptional videos! How do you clean your ultrasonic cleaner? Some "experts" recommend putting components in a bag with the degreaser before placing into the ultrasonic cleaner. Thoughts?
They seem to pack up frequently so I rarely fully clean them! They are stainless steel so when I swap the solution I just wipe it out with Blue Roll
How do you clean those rags after? Mine I are all filthy and I don't want to use our washing machine to wash it with all those chemicals
We wash some and replace others 😀
Great video, just joined the channel 👍 Thinking of buying an ultrasonic cleaner just for my own home use. I noticed you have used at least two different cleaners in your videos and wondered if you could comment on both in terms of quality and capacity *what size; only see my doing one bike at a time) for home use. Don't want to waste money on something cheap and nasty but at same time probably don't need professonal shop quality?
Hi, we’ve had multiple ultrasonic cleaners over the years, they tend to break lol, for home work a 3L ultrasonic cleaner will fit everything with a little work, we use a 6L in the shop, thanks for watching🧡
I'm buying a 10l one soon because this looks brilliant.
But I would like to know what all those different greases are? I only have a chain lube and one other 😅
Thanks for an awesome video! Liked and subscribed
We make them ourselves, you can check them out at www.bikespeeds.com/shop! Thanks for all the support🧡
@@Bikespeeds thanks for the quick response! I will order as soon as I'm done with my holidays. 🌞
What is the washing basin that you use for scrubbing everything down afterward? Our shop just relocated and we don’t have a shop sink anymore. Would love to get my hands on something similar. Thanks!
It’s currently a bucket! A lot of what we do for the videos is slightly different to the day to day running of the shop, to keep everything in one location for filming. We have a sink we use “normally” we have plans in place for a counter top with sink a bit like a cooking show to make this look a bit more interesting soon.
Does ultrasonic cleaning remove surface rust?
No, it runs an ultrasonic wax through the solution in it, it will only remove loose particles, like oil mud & grime I like it because it gets into places you simple can’t with fingers and rags! Rust still needs work
How often do you refill the ultrasonic cleaner?
Some ultrasonic cleaners have a filter to trap the dirt. The degreaser keeps working but if it has too many contaminants it stops being able to clean as effectively. It also depends on how dirty the stuff that you put into the cleaner is as well as how much you use it for bikes, car parts, guns, tools…. A bike shop that I used to work at replaced the degreaser every 1-2 weeks. A 50-50 solution of water and simple green was what we used and it worked well. It hot weather or if the cover is left off of the cleaner the fluid would evaporate and we would put a little more water into it.
We replace ours every time we want to make an impressive CZcams segment! Lol so most weeks! 🧡
@@Bikespeeds thanks for replying great outcome 👍
Screw fix has stopped stocking this degreaser 🥺
Who lets their bike get that dirty...I won't sleep tonight
Me too. I would be having nightmares about dirty chains screaming to be cleaned. 🤣🤣🤣
This is good idea to buy ultrasonic cleaner ?
As important as a torque wrench 🔧
@@Bikespeeds What's the price please?
