Sideways Jim is MY BOY.
Will sideways jim be appearing in new episodes?
can you make a new video sideways?
BRUVA LIVES!!!
*STOMP *STOMP
He's just too precious of a dino-lad for the Eldar Exodites to want to risk in battle.
i wish these custom vehicle rules were still in to some degree, i kitbash almost every time i get a kit lol
Mate thats the great thing about 40k; no rules for a home game. You do whatever the fuck you want
At least for Orks. It would be 100% on brand with their lore and they can already ram their fliers into the ground with command points just for fluff, so why not
@@ThatWildcard There used to be a lot of freedom with looted vehicles, but that got removed eventually.
Xenos Rampant is a miniature agnostic ruleset that lets you make your own units in a similar manner.
You could also describe the Necrons as
“if pharaoh man from Mega man was created by Genndy Tartakovsky”
Or
“A combination of Imhotep and the terminator”
I'm almost certain all Warhammer factions would look rad on the side of a van.
*Cough T'au Cough Cough Eldar Cough Cough*
@@simonwilliamnoelmurray9179 *drives by Eldar painted on the side of a van * "GAAAAAAAAYYYYY!"
@@HonzoRich the Eldar are in dire need of a redesign.
@@greysky1252 Honestly, putting Aeldari on the side of your van just makes the mocking laughter louder
@@MrRuano825 now that I think about, The Eldar would be perfect on a van since they look so outdated. Like they were designed by some 70s sci-fi artist who was tripping out on lcd or something.
3:37 "Hewo?"
oh wow nice catch lol
D'awww, Guardsmen are such cuties.
That vehicle maker looks awesome for custom games!
I wish modern open play or crusade had something like that, specially for armies that make sense lore-whise like the orks
"Greetings deodorant gravtanks..."
"What did you call u- Oooooooh, ISWYDT."
Let's just take a moment to fully appreciate 3:21. A unique, character-specific special rule called 'Embittered' for a character who is the knight with the shiniest armour in 40k. The DA''s have always been weird though: "No, that's *our* Predator varient and we're not sharing!" and the Chaplain with a WFB Vampire statline (S7, T7, etc.) were the least of it...
4:10 -- the TFTD is 40kchan leaking backwards in time again.
7:15 -- The Catachan Sideways Jim is covered in the _creature_ creation rules, ya dafties!
Andy Chambers was my dude back in my 3rd edition days
I miss that rulebook, it was a lot of fun! Its funny how the Necrons changed rather quickly.
Custom vehicles you say...
(Glances over at unfinished Halo Ground Battles Warthog model)
Oh hohoho...guess I know what Im using THAT for
Killer Orca wait, ground battles was 15mm. how's that going to work? (also lucky you for having them ;P )
This book and its "sequels" is probably the reason why 3ed was so memorable.
That and the Fact that 3rd Edition got much more Grimdark than 2nd.
Has anyone ever thought of using the vehicle creation thing to turn a squad of guardsmen into a terrifying army of mini metal gears?
And cue the Last Chancers rules!
Not until this moment but you have just given me that idea.
For a while I've wanted a Heroic Scale Metal Gear Rex model, which I could use as a Warhound. Sure, why not?
Well, that brought back some fond memories.
And an urgent demand for GW - "Give us new vehicle design rules! NOW!!!!"
All hail the “Hellsquig”
Yes! I loved the custom vehicle creation rules. I would love that for Orks obviously but also giving any marine army their own unique relic vehicle.
Of all the giggleworthy moments in this video, the thing that really set me off is "Sideways Jim". 🤣🤣🤣
2:42 Oh, so that is where the left-over art for Iron Maiden's Powerslave went.
I suddenly REALLY WANT an original Necron van 😂
I suddenly REALLY WANT a gooseberry squishie...
Martin Cann well that's just being silly!
Kiryu and Serpentera cameos made me happy! Can’t ignore Wib’s stylish shirt either.
As an avid Blood Bowl player from back in the day I must say the following (common amoungst BB GT players)
ALL HAIL JARVIS THE JERBAL, High Priest of Nuffle, Speaker of the Word, Controlller of the End Zone, Long May he Live
I loved the early lore on Necrons (ok not so much the art now looking back). But Some unknown menice slowly waking up was somehow so much more threatening then the fully fleshed out lore. Like how many horror movies are scary until you see the monster is just some CGI thing.
As I said when someone mentioned Space Crusade needing to come back, we need more of those..."chaos androids" :-P
As a sucker for customization, hearing this book contains a truly massive system for building your own vehicle is amazing to me, and makes it worth a pick up any time you're at a used book place! Stuff like that makes playing older rules editions very interesting because it's something you truly can't get out of modern 40K (or, you can, but it would take incredible time balancing the whole thing).
Man, I miss Colonel Schaffer and his Last Chancers. They have always been my favorite infantry IG unit.
Oh ere' ve go ere we goo ladz!!
Damn, that Kiryu at 9:47 makes me want to buy my own. The best Mechagodzilla design of them all.
vehicle design rules were the best I mean the point sytem meant that it was usually over priced in terms of points but I had lots of fun cobbling together ork contraptions and creating assault chaos dreadnoughts. God I miss third edition...
Oh, hey. Music from Front Mission.
GameProse Gald that someone else noticed.
I used to use those super possible Evangelion figures as Eldar light titans using the vehicle creation rules.
3:38 Hewo :3
I still love the front mission music when you guy construct things using rules.
All these weeks... I always read the title as “Codex Complaints”
I interpreted it as a series where you two discuss the things you don’t like about the new codices.
I think that deodorant anti-grav tank thing is still playable, if you can find one! And a double barrel phased array plasma gun sounds nifty for Primaris to take!
Awesome vid.
Can anyone tell me what the song playing during the video is called?
Also heard it on 40k Theories' channel
EDIT: It's the main theme of Vengeance of the Blood Angels
Servitor fetch me my finest beverage snipe and wib have uploaded
I'm shocked you didn't get a voiceover for the 'rock's aren't free' part on the back cover
"You can make a vehicle."
Battletech: Hold my beer..
Mclovin' the rubber dinosaur too Snipe. 😂
More wisdom from cannoness snipe and comisar wib! Praise the emprah!
Boy this was a blast from the past! I remeber doing an Armored Company vs Armored Company battle with a friends. Lots of boxes to represent tanks.
Less fun than it sounded as vehicles were shit in 3rd edition and the range of their weapons meant they barely moved from their starting positions...
what a smile!
gooseberry squishy is the most british sounding thing iv heard
Laying in bed being sick. See a new Snipe&Wib video. The day is saved
Only just realised I have this upstairs.....
Tank Company.. Roll out.. It'll only cost you a sisters army in lead.. XD
Deodarant Grav-Tank, ha! Muy bien!
Edit: I thought this was a BO joke.
So, got this as a PDF and I'm gonna be printing out that vehicle creation bit, me and a buddy are super into building stuff, should be a good time
Is that the garage music from the old Front Mission?
The chapter approved books were so cool! And the VDR were such a good idea to add some unique flare to an army. But alas, they were from a time when games workshop assumed a measure of intelligence of the playerbase. I cant imagine them doing anything similar now.
I have a Sisters of Battle 2nd edition Codex somewhere, wonder where that has gone?
Off the back of this video, I went and got myself a copy for the pure nostalgic joy. Ta!
I need the stats for Sideways Jim
My 'Hellhound' Imperial Guard tank was a Rhino with the plastic egg out of a Kinder egg on the back. 'Conversion' innit!
I actually have the White Dwarf with those vehicle rules in it somewhere. Really cool!
Space Hulk PSX music!!!! Also, man the BEST ERA
Then Front Mission!!! Lovely!
I loved the VDR rules so much and really wish they had got a real update - the current land raider design rules just ain't enough. They did make everything expensive points wise as a kinda balance thing but damn they were fun
P.S. I am UK based with a bunch of older 40k books I am happy to loan for you to review, including that second ed sisters book. Will send you a PM somewhere :-)
Damn.. 20 years ago? Feels like yesterday..
OMG those Death Company rules were awesome. I remember playing against them and they were both fun and TERRIFYING...
Ah the good ol VDR tables. Much shenanigans.
I wish 8th edition had as much choices for vehicles as 3rd, but speaking to someone in gw they say they only make rules for models that they make
*november 2019 : new plastic sisters of battle and codex*
The Guardsman saying hewo is my favourite part. Just an fyi
Ahhhh, the old necron stuff. Remember having to photocopy my friends white dwarf so I could play my army before this came out. Still remember getting the evils from gw staff when I would play in store and not have a legit copy. I think they let it slide cause I was the only person who bought the minis at the time.
I hope they release an official Sideways Jim model soon
Rewatching alot of these ha and I keep saying this again and again third edition was the best by far in terms of overall rules for the game, options and well fun.
It is a close run between it and 2nd edition IMO.
The only thing we have to worry about from Chambers is him doing the Farsighted Enclave stuff.
It's like, how much darker can Chapter Approved get, and the answer is "None...more dark..."
The Fantasy equivalent would be the Warhammer Chronicles, which are terrific though some articles repeat themselves from book to book
back when forgeworld stuff didn't actually have rules and they sold the models in case people wanted to just own one, because a 40k-scaled baneblade was so obviously absurd
Sideways JIM XD XD XD
Also, what music is playing in the video?
It was a great and crazy time to be a commander :)
so much cool stuff comparatively to the new 8th edition chapter approved
3:38 made me laugh
I want official rules for Sideways Jim NOW.
Lmao, I still have that CA, I like it to be honest. I mean the VDR was ace! Could make a proppa' (a little expensiv) Mega Stompa. W/ the amount of dakka, I think it lives up to it's points.
Feral Orks are in there too... wild boyz... yes!!!
Awesome video guys.
love this kind of video, keep them comming
6:58 What are those tyranid models!? Because they look cool!
An old Pre-Forge World resin upscale of an Epic Model, I think.
Did you guys ever get hold of an old sisters codex, have one in a box somewhere that I’m not using
4:06 The report about Ork blood is from M53?
What went wrong there?
Love you guys
Eurgh that dinosaur didn't have an elf knight riding it. Disgusting.
You guys doing a Kill Team video? I hope so, I personally think it has massive potential for "your dudes" and unique equipment (should it come in one of the expansions, although they should have been in the core rule book to begin with!).
So...how much did it cost to field him after all the structure points?
Oh Come on, no honourable mention for the guy who asked the question about the Imperium using an Asteroid to wipe out a planet instead of Exterminatus?
love these vids
What is the ambient music that plays from the beginning of the video?
Sideways Jim! HAHAHAHAHA
When are you going to do the other two?
did you find out how many points is was then?
Is anyone else McLovin Snipe in glasses. 😉😉🤣I'll get my coat.
Wow, "deodorant grav tanks" I've never hear that one but as a former staffer I can attest to it's truth
"Greetings deodorant gravtanks" I am ten seconds in and I'm subscribing
... so did you guys end up statting Serpenterra in the end? Does he have a weakness to Bikes?
I was just skimming my copy of this last night. Any idea where older necron stuff can be found?
what music plays throughout the video
Could you do lost and the damned, they're a really cool faction and are sort of mysterious for newer generations like me
Out of curiosity DID you ever stat out Serpenterra?
Going back to Waaagh the Orks era greenskins, Ork blood was dark red to purple in hue this isn't new to Chapter Approved.
Have you guys reviewed the 1988 one yet?
What was the blank datacard they used for the hellsquig
Oh you poor naive child
Did you ever figure out Serpentera?
