    I might be all wet, but I've been kicking around similar ideas for a few days.... I think the peltiers should be inside and the heat exchange should be coupled to the ground.... rebar, grounding rod, black iron gas pipe... something like that.
    Don't know how to use a sand battery with that setup though... I guess you could run water on both sides of the TEC, one inside, one outside and have completely separate tubing, pump, heat exchange from the battery to the house.
    Anyway, I found it interesting.

      the heat pump can be where ever really , the long term plan is to have a solar water heater panel in the loop on the external side , as well as an underground heat exchange. they would both be able to be isolated from the system , so one for extra heat in the cold weather and one with less heat for the summer hotter weather . If the sun is out on the 40 watt panel i can get it all up to 30c but it seamed to work better as a cooler surprisingly but i think that can be attributed to my crappy heat sink on the external side of the heat pump witch is super inefficient . it works better in the summer as its usually shaded . I had a large loop of line running on the floor and wall that worked as a heat exchange ( eBay rad leaked ) . the sand bank seams to be the equivalent of 2 L of water , but its slower to take in or release energy. The scale of the sand battery would likely need to be much larger and better insulated to do anything worth while , i do get an extra hour of warmth out of it but it slows the initial warm up so im likely losing more in the long run than gaining anything .

      I plan on 2 water blocks , 2 pumps ,2 separate hot and cold systems . this will take a long time for me to implement , but so far it makes a noticeable difference in room temp , way more than i was originally expecting. the 2 stacked and wired in sires tecs helps with efficiency, lower the voltage the higher the efficiency, but to get the same power u just need more units , and the space to mount them .

      Sounds good. Getting away from air temps outside and going to ground will give better results. Also, was thinking about how to insulate those small 12mm lines... which will be necessary when you eventually run things outside beyond your wall. Bet you could run those lines inside pex or pvc and use standard pipe insulation on top of that.
      Also, if using a sand battery for cooling.... consider a phase change material instead. Wax or ice can store FAR more energy than sand. It will still be a lot, I calculated something like 220 lbs of ice to cool 230 sq ft overnight where I live. Pretty rough figures I was working with, but taking a pound of ice from 32 to 70 F is roughly 200 btu.
