Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter video game developed by video game developer EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3 and was released in October 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; then later in November for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 was met with positive reception. It was praised for its multiplayer mode, gameplay and graphics, but was also criticized for its short and shallow single-player campaign mode, and for its numerous bugs and glitches in the multiplayer. It was a commercial success
Battlefield 4's multiplayer contains three playable factions-the United States, China, and Russia-fighting against each other, in up to 64-player matches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (24-Player on Xbox 360 and PS3). A newly reintroduced "Commander Mode", last seen in Battlefield 2142, gives one player on each team a real-time strategy-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and order in missile strikes on hostile targets.[7][8] A spectator mode is included, enabling players to spectate others in first or third person, as well as use a free camera to pan around the map from any angle.
On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level.[9] Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.[9][10]
The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai", "Paracel Storm", "Zavod 311", "Lancang Dam", "Flood Zone", "Rogue Transmission", "Hainan Resort", "Dawnbreaker", "Operation Locker" and "Golmud Railway".[11][12] The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called Obliteration and Defuse, along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.[12][13]
The four kits from Battlefield 3 are present in Battlefield 4 with minor tweaks. The Assault kit must now wait for the defibrillator to recharge after reviving teammates in quick succession. The Engineer kit uses PDWs, and carbines are available to all kits. The support kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now more mobile and is able to equip carbines, designated marksman rifles (DMRs), and C4. Sniping mechanics also give with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games.
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 armored car, and the Z-10W attack helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "attack" and "stealth". The attack jets focus is mainly air-to-ground capabilities, while stealth jets focus mainly on air-to-air combat. Another vehicle added in Battlefield 4 is the addition of the RCB and DV-15 Interceptor attack boats, which function as heavily armed aquatic assault craft.

I got some feedback on the camera, I think personally the windows need to be swapped, so put the gameplay in the camera window and I just wanna see your face cover the entire screen basically.

You know you’re a good player when you give the other team a chance so it makes it more interesting for you. Like I hate when I’m on locker and one team is just spawn trapping the other like I want a game.
Camera is awesome, I don’t know if this is my personal preference, but maybe place it on the same height but on the right side of the screen. Good video 👍👍

@@SilkOCE definitely feel like you should flip it (or place it on the right) so that you're looking at the center of the screen. It feels a bit disconnected from the gameplay now.
@@KiemPlant I agree, maybe put the Cam in the upper right corner of the screen just slightly below the FPS counter so we can all still see all the action as well as seeing Silk's face and reactions to things that happen in the game.

Love your videos silk but I will be the first to admit I get schooled everytime I fly a jet. Which is why me and my friend team up to be as annoying as possible with the PLD + javelin. Flying the jets take a lot of skill, but there is nothing more satisfying then well coordinated team work to take down vehicle campers. Sorry not sorry

I just unlocked JDAMS and as a beginner pilot it's very hard. My first and only kill with it now was on a heli :p

I use to watch your videos on BF5 couple years ago and was amazed by your flying skills , I brought some of that into BF5 and mainly BF1. I’ve started to rewatch your videos and you still haven’t lost it. I should fly more Jets than I should as I’m an all rounder in foot land and air vehicles. Lice how you JDAM, I’m starting to get better at bombing but still miss a lot.
Just love your channel Silk , stumbled upon it when I started playing BF4 again a few weeks ago , I would love to see the camera on your KB and mouse , think it would be pretty cool , Tx for the entertainment and also the inspiration to get better at the game
I counter jets by chasing them with small boat.
I've gotten a lot better at my jets from watching your videos but i play on xb1 so its a little different. I didn't realize how satisfying hitting jdams is haha. Also cam is a good addition to the channel
I like watching these videos bc they give me time to learn ways to fly better in BattleField. I've always loved planes and helicopters and you're a good influence to learn from. I've noticed many things I need to try and things not to do. Hopefully someday I'm as good as you lol

Cam's fine, with regards to your first death to the TOW SOFLAM fly close to terrain or hard cover, it has a chance to collide with it and blow up before your ECM runs out (you probably know this and were just tired but maybe someone reading this will find it useful). Nice vid

A good PLD'er can help maintain lock for any Jav's by leading the target. This allows the PLD to maintain a fix on the target, even if it is interrupted, and thus make a hit from the guided shell/missile more likely, sometimes well after the targeted jet has left PLD range and even well after their countermeasures have finished and are in cool down period. PLD/lockable missiles or gunner SOFLAM/guided shell or TOW combos have proven the bane of many an aerial vehicle driver. An exceptional pilot can still make it hard, and use terrain to their advantage though.
well said, its something like weird mechanic unexplained by the devs . it seems like PLD locks, once a javlin missile is out even if u ecm and even if you hide behind a building the missile still land , like it doesn't make sense at all.
jts probably the only counter for elite pilots and only way around it is pre ecm

I don’t know, I kinda liked the aesthetic of no camera. It makes your channel more unique. I get it for live feeds and interacting with your community but for finished videos, keep to camera free, it stops you from looking like other streamers.

Only thing is that a good aa driver knows to always be moving to avoid jdm bombs and try to stay back at base so if a jet strafe runs you just use the active protection and spot the jet so the base aa and driver just melt the jet
By camping near your own base you're doing a massive favor to a good attack jet pilot...

I know it’s classified as an attack jet, but the Q-5 is one of my favorite dogfight aircraft in the game because it has all the ground attack equipment but at the same time is a capable jet to jet fight aircraft
Me and my buddies usually take two tanks up to the hills north of a and b flag on golmud, and we run guided shell, soflam and sabot rounds. Not hatin on y’all, mad respect for plane and heli guys cause I can’t fly worth a damn, but after years of gaming we got tired of getting farmed so we started specifically hunting people down on servers that camp vehicles- especially on 24/7 max ticket servers. Recently gotten into the LAV soflam combo, but it isn’t the same. Fly safe my friend, but as you said, don’t push a enemy team too hard lol, it gets boring.
Been seeing a lot more PLD teamwork between randoms. Makes me happy

Only way I found to avoid a PLD lock in a jet is fly over land very low. For some reason flying over the water very low they will still hit you. When you’re flying over land at super low altitude the rocket will hit the ground. 👍🏻
14:00 Hey Silk, i've noticed when you get PLD locked and Javelin/Tow locks-on you kinda just hope for it to be a stinger, instead try to slow down a little bit so the jav/tow starts to circle your jet before your ecm stops and stay close to the ground, 9/10 times it'll hit the ground and you get away safely. Kinda risky but it has saved me so many times when i see multiple lock-ons. I'm a sj pilot tho so might be a little harder in aj but as well as you play i think you can make it a routine.

was wondering, seeing as you've got a lot of experience in jets, would you do a video on combating air vehicles?
I've played a sad amount of hours of bf4. I've always noticed that when a decide pilot gets in a jet, everyone always bitches about the player. "jets are so OP", "f*ck off!", "xxxx is hacking". I'm sure you've heard it all. These players never know how to combat jets in the game and so they just complain, and there aren't very many videos that explain and show people that you can tackle air vehicles, even with very experienced players in them!

Im sure you probably know this but you can use ECM & the ground to avoid a PLD locked rocket if keen enough in jets, while ECM makes the rocket loop around you for a second or so you can make it hit the ground, very situational though. Good luck in a tank though, can be over half the map away and still get popped because they are the better player haha

Seeing jets being blown up by soflam - is THE MOST satisfying thing in the game.
as soon as u see two separate locks always ecm before they shoot. I'm not sure about this, but I think if u hit a tree to stop moving in the jet, it can make the javs/tows go away.

When someone is flying always PLD/Javelin/stringer depending if they ECM or flare..
If you’re getting pld locked ecm and fly low the rocket will end up hitting the floor
cameras great man, maybe make the camera screen bigger and move it to the top left as chat isn't that important IMO or just under the killfeed

I do not understand why would you want the person on camera at all. Are you trying to build a cult of personality or something ? I was thinking youre here for the content, not the socializing fakery on the net. Next step, no commentary, maybe a text here and there. Streamers are talking heads from what I know and the attention goes usually away from the skill and gameplay to the person. For example I extremely dislike boasters cause it smells of narcissism. One thing for me but not for thee. For example, one could try and make Igla/Stinger and other tutorials. What are the mechanics instead of I got xy kills. Doe the target receive a beep, or missiles, passive vs active, for example out of like 50 matches I managed to get into AA like 2-3 times. They always get taken regardless of me clicking with both hands for double click speed. ANother thing I do not understand infantry field upgrades. I got premium game recently, for 8€ and I see those upgrades, I do not know which of 4 levels work. Last BF game I played seriously was bfbc 2, before that bf 42 all the way. BF 42 alamein was the one I played the most and it was 99,5% vs bots since no internet then. Personally I do not get anything from taking out folks, my vs bot practice made me very good back then. Only when going from keyboard to joystick with smooth moves did it get really great. Energy management was for fighters, bombers each one. You couldnt destroy yourself from excessive speed, but it was way better than pretty much constant max thrust and no losing energy with altitude.Considering that bf 42 had even submarines for PVP and big gun ships in pure pvp, that I never got to try out except on my own made game with nobody on it except myself. COnsider this, the amount of options in 42 - vietnam no shiops, dumbed down physics, no gravity etc. Look at bf 4. When infantry jumps out from up high, they drop like a rock. Vehicles ? empty jets do not drop like a rock from a lack of thrust/lift from wings at all. This was in bf 42 as well. One could say that No bf was as complex and offering as many options to do things as in 42. Early versions didnt have hit registration feedback, later ones did. I would recommend Silk try out bf 42 if he can get it somewhere and play MP. And there all tanks and planes did not fly the same. Spitfire was more maneuverable, Bf 109 seemed to be better in engine department/climb. spit made smaller circles. Balance wasnt complete mirror. I think this made it great.
To be on topic, I do not need to see you as a person. I personally do not know you and I consider looking at you where you are like spying on your personal space and you personally. From my perspective is not Where to put that camera, but IF you really want it. IT is not really needed. I understand you make money out of it and that is not my business, but just personally I do not mind not having a camera. I think privacy is great so that you wouldnt need to show yourself because others do it.

This is why pld squad exists, their main job is take down the jet\heli. They will spend the whole game tracking, targeting and taking you down but what's worse they take pride in their job as if their doing something righteous.

My best advice for avoiding the soflam + jav lock is to ECM and get low as fast as possible. If you can get the rocket to hit the ground before the ECM is done, that is your best bet at survival. If you time it perfectly, you can fly under. However, that is much easier to do in a heli than a jet.
Ive been playing lancing dam on obliteration with attack jet. And got killed by by javelins like 5 or 6 times, after that i just started to pop my ECM sooner and started to hide behind hills, so they couldn't shoot they rockets at me

to evade laser lock fly over solid ground, missile will zig zag around you, so it will explode on ground but go trough water

Flares are better than ecm at dealing with missile as they loose lock on you.
What PC do you have? the FPS you have is huge and I'm thinking about upgrading my rig soon.
Just from an aesthetic pov, with the camera position where it currently is, you're looking away from the centre of the screen and the action. You should have it so that you're looking in toward the centre. That aside, ggs!

flares is the answer :D but it means you can't hang around in the AO for 7 seconds and you have to break out of there the moment you drop your flares.
Even flares can't stop soflam guided missiles..

Against pld if you ecm you must fly low. The missile most likely won't hit through ecm unless you fly straight. When you fly low the missile will hit the ground before it hits you.

Is 313 the best speed for all jets or just the Fantan or just Attack Jets? For some reason I've been playing (with quite decent success) with the impression 305 is the best speed (on console).

Any thoughts if BF2042 would remove the 3d spotting and 3rd person camera from vehicles? Don't really see it happening but it would actually make air vehicles more like support assets that have to rely on their team to succeed instead of being 1 man army that can single handedly decimate everyone and everything on opposing team?
