About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

"Elaine, of course I'm concerned. I'm paying for those meals!": A line that perfectly sums up George.
I love her arms' movement. She s like that s what i was waiting for.
You mean Larry lol?
It's all about money with George. 🙄 Sure, maybe it is rude to vomit up a paid for meal. Still, I'd be more concerned about the girl’s health and welfare then the money wasted. 😔
Still, knowing George, he's always going to have different priorities.
Well he's got a point. If she's just going to throw it up why spend the money for it?
@@emillyhale7557 Well he's usually broke and unemployed. So being frugal is important for survival. That is what his mindset is on. Instead of being emotional. He is a cheap man tho
The air of superiority that George displays while sitting down on the sofa when he knows he has information that no one else has, is so perfectly acted out! Jason is a genius.
My favorite character.
its acting without acting
I was cracking up when he parts them before sitting down
Oh man...that dude is a master craftsman.
@@alexsmith2885 Could call it, acting with acting.
Somehow Cosmo was the perfect name for him. One of the writers is a genius just for that.
Cosimo
The producers of Seinfeld didn't want to use the name "Kramer" since it was the name of a real person (Kenny Kramer). They tried to come up with a different name but no other name seemed to fit. I'm glad they changed "Kenny" to "Cosmo" though. Cosmo Kramer sounds much better than Kenny Kramer.
i thought it was kosmo with a k?
Cosmo
Larry David knew a guy named Cosmo.
Only Michael Richards can make such a simple sentence "the cat is out of the bag" so funny
3:14 Yeah just the way He Acts like a lunatic's perfect.
…a term with an inhumane origin, though!
Michael Richards is a fake persona to get him some.privacy. He is COSMO KRAMER
@@Cjnw shut it
Yeah like when he says "the bus is outta control!"
Cosmo Kramer...the single, greatest reveal in television history.
MacGuyver's first name reveal was a big deal when i was a kid
Yeah, it sort of beats Chandler M. Bing’s name reveal imo.
who shot jr.?
george spitting out the water 😂🤣
Homer J. Simpson
3:23.
I always loved when Jerry shook Cosmo’s hand after finding out his first name, it was very genuine like they did not even know it at the time.
I love that too
All that laughter at the name reveal was unscripted
You're right, that is a great moment.
@@frasergibson5763 confirmed?
@@spencer_jackson542 yep. Seinfeld and Larry David confirmed it
Cosmo really was the ideal first name for Kramer, it just fits him perfectly😁😁
Totally. I couldn't imagine him with a regular name like "Anthony Kramer"
Kenny Kramer would sound like a crazy name.
@@Kruppt808 I don't think so. Maybe its because I am so used to hearing the name Kenny on South Park, but it just seems like a pretty normal name. Sounds like its a nickname, short for Kenneth, which is a name of a boring nerdy guy
COSMO says your FAT.
yeah.. he's a space cadet :D
I love how audience erupts in laughter when Kramer references his childhood trauma
Yeah, like the normals who think any other mental health issue is a riot, then wonder why we don't want to talk to them.

I love how Kramer is dead set against speaking to his mom and then the second Jerry says something his whole attitude changes.
Well he better, he owes Jerry years of free food and other favors.
500‼️…wow
The genuine spit take that Jason Alexander does at 3:10 is one of the funniest moments in this series for me. I love when even the actors themselves can't completely hold it together.
Wasn’t that just acting?
My guess is that it was just acting.Still a good scene though. He holds the bottle to his mouth but takes a strange gap before taking a sip from the bottle even though he hasn't got a line to say. When Kramer comes in then he drinks and spits.
Their laughs looks pretty genuine hahah
@@gigglyme2001 that didn't look like acting, looks very candid, and his reaction seemed to break character.
@@gigglyme2001 There was a lot of improv on set and spots where the actors were genuinely laughing
I’ve been a Seinfeld fan from day one and I can remember the weeks leading up to this episode, NBC was constantly teasing this episode telling us to how we were gonna find out Kramer’s first name. I remember thinking there is no way they’re just gonna tell us. But they sure did and it was a big deal! Man I miss the 90s lol
I remember when all that was happening! Man I miss those days
Cosmo displays a very fluid act of acceptance. He is actually a very wise individual.
Fluid how?
He’s a character on a successful tv show. Nothing more, nothing less.
3:10 Jason Alexander refunding Jerry's water, LOL.
He degifted and regifted like Tim Whatley
In my humble opinion, this is one of the greatest Kramer entrances ever. The way he literally glides through the door, seamlessly transitioning from behind outside the room to being inside the room. The way he ends the glide, using his momentum to slide right into the first step. And yet it's all over in a second and it feels like he's been there the entire time. This is a 10/10 Kramer entrance.
Should be an Olympic sport.
3:11. I love it when Elaine bursts out "Cosmo' and George spits the water out of his mouth, and it lands 5ft away. I don't know if that is great directing or great acting.
Both Alexander and Julia are great professional actors
its great spitting
The way George spits out his water I don't think that was scripted 😂😂😂
I think you’re right! 😂😂😂
"What's she like? Oh...She's A Kramer" Absolutely Priceless! Babs and Cosmo are Names that will Live In Infamy in The Seinfeld Universe! Puddy is right up there too! Cheers From Ohio
wow.... what's it like in Ohio???? 😶
Puddy is his last name, though. His first name is David.
I doubt he had Sagan inside him, so it's Cosmo, not Cosmos.
@@jaredbond7908 LOLOL..As Groovy As The Law Allows!
@@bossfan49 Good Point! I thought of that myself later after hitting "Send"...and thought DOH....appreciate the shout out Boss!
*Kramer* : "I'm still carrying alot of childhood pain 😭"
*Audience* : "Bruh you killin me 😂🤣😂🤣😂😂"
I laughed too, because knowing Kramer, or Cosmo if you will, it will be something ridiculous like she didn't allow him to slam the doors like he usually does.
@@VCT3333 It felt deeper than that to me.
George is fantastic his explosions of anger are unreal
I laugh so hard at this every time I see George spit out that water. 😂
You can see him pause at 3:05... readying himself for that moment
Classic Kramer 😂❤️ At first he's so reluctant to get into his childhood and later he's not even mad with their mockery
We share the same name and I still find this hilarious.
😁
Ok, Kramer..
Hahaha. Cosmo Pasciuto!
Tell me about it
Most excellent! I think it's a solid name! 😎
There's something weirdly genuine about the three of them enjoying the reveal together.
This is actually the greatest show of all time. These actors are absolutely par excellence and the script is so refreshing and relatable even years later.
Am I the only one who thinks Cosmo is a cool name?
The Medicis who ruled Florence during the Renaissance were named Cosmo, most of them
Yes
Anyone remember Cosmo Topper?
It's not bad. Goofy but not obnoxious.
I think of Cosmonauts, either that or Fairly Oddparents hahaha either way it’s a pretty cool name
all those years, and it still brings a smile to my face.
For no particular reason I always enjoyed the handshake Jerry offered Kramer
I cannot imagine a better group than those 4 characters together.
They couldn't have picked a more perfect name for him. "Babs" too.
Cosmo fits him perfectly! He's out of this damn world! 🤣👏🏼
"Up here, I'm all ready gone."
I think George spitting his water out when Elaine yelled out "COSMO!" was the funniest part! Lol
That spit take from Jason Alexander looked genuine.
George's spit take is perfect. From now on, we know how to get the perfect spit take. "Cosmo!"
I just love Elaine's acting and facial expression.
The fact they didn't know his first name in 10 years is hilarious and kramers top secret lol😅😅😅😅
George costanza/Jason Alexander = The best ever.
And to think he thought there was no way he was getting the part after his audition.
Acting without acting
@@mrchopsticks3 Well, he was up against Jerry's best friend.
I need an episode of Elaine’s infamous pushes when she finds out something crazy and says, “No, GET OUT”.
It was a classic moment when watching this episode for the first time. The absolute greatest reveal in television.
This is Jason and Michael at their best. Seinfeld has infinite re-watchability.
I'm honestly surprised he managed to keep it a secret all those years, he has a tendency to just blurt things out.
i can relate to kramer on this one. i havent talked to my father in 5 years too
I personally would have preferred to never have known Kramer's first name. But thankfully they never make it a habit of calling him by his first name too often.
And it fits perfectly, too. Glad it wasn't something boring like "Steve" or "Mike" or "Anthony" (just kidding!) 😋
@@JustWasted3HoursHere We should really be glad they didn’t use Kenny.
@@nrkgalt That was never going to happen. They originally named Kramer "Kessler" because they didn't want anything to do with Kenny Kramer.
I think really only George’s mom ever called him Cosmo
@@wvu05 Michael Richards didn't want.
Larry David was all for it.
Elaine has the most infectious laugh
3:00 - I love how you see the four characters are just great friends in this scene; none of the usual contention or calamities or insults etc.
As a teen I knew a bulimic girl. Her parents confronted her with a single line. "Food is too expensive to flush down the toilet."
Her parents were strong with The George.
Bruh they actually phrased it like that? Putting priority on the food and not her health?

One of the very best episodes only Larry and Jerry could come up with "Cosmo"!!!! And I still need to find a purple bath robe!
My gosh they were fantastic...all of them, real talent.
For those of you who weren't around back then, this was a pretty big moment in TV sitcom history. They really teased it up in the tv spots leading to the airing, and there were news stories about it.

Kramer: I don't even want to get into my childhood, i'm still carrying a lot of pain, a lot of pain...
Audience: HaHaHaHaHaHa!
Fun fact: Kramer's name was originally going to be Conrad Kramer. It was going to be revealed in the unmade episode The Gun on Season 2 written by Larry Charles, but because the episode was too dark and the cast and crew, especially Julia Louis-Dreyfus, refused to make that episode, it got cancelled meaning Kramer's name was put on hold.
Cosmo suits him. And it's funny.
Finally, a 'fun fact' that is about the video and not the commenter!! =D
Mind my asking why it was considered too dark? What was the episode going to be???
@@fantasyfootballhq7056 The premise of the ep was about Elaine making a bet with Jerry as to how easy it would be for her to buy a gun. There was a scene where she points the gun to herself and jokes about shooting herself. Julia was very unhappy with this.
@@Janexcalibur bro such a cringe premise my god
One of the best laughs by Elaine and Jerry :)
She has a great cackle. It's like when Jerry took off the baseball cap to reveal his bad haircut.
3:11 George spitting out the water 😂😂
"From now on, Im COSMO!" Even tho we all still call him Kramer. 😂❤
It seemed to me that Jerry and Julia were not told of Kramers first name until the filming of this episode. Their laughter seems really genuine and not rehearsed.
You telling me Jerry never saw a piece of mail with Kramer’s full name on it. Come on! You live in an apartment building, you see others people’s full names.
I don't think Jerry's a mail stealer guy

0:54 Kramer making these faces to call for attention but pretending not to want it
I remember this episode was quite a bombshell when it first aired. I’m a little surprised, 30 years later, that it didn’t result in a wave of children called Cosmo.
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT KRAMER STANDS OUT THE MOST ! THEY ARE ALL GREAT TOGETHER! THIS SHOW ROCKS!!!
Ahh, the end of the 20th century was full of good times like these. The music was new and alternative music ruled the airways, movies were just starting to come of age. How I mis the good ole days.
Of course I’m concerned…I’m paying for those meals!
The name Cosmo came from Peter Blood's son, Cosmo. Peter was in a few episodes of the show, but his son had such a unique name, they decided to use it as Kramer's first name.
3:11 On a Seinfeld behind the scenes documentary(or maybe it was the DVD extras), they talked about how George had this spit take when Elaine yelled “Cosmo!“. And they said that this was 100% real and wasn’t scripted at all. This was the actual reaction during the scene. Gosh the show was funny. I don’t know how they got any work done😂
I could totally tell that was real. You couldn't fake that. Not even the best actor.
@@kerryobrien6110 Also shoutouts to Michael Richards for staying in character - yet again - so Larry could keep that take!

George's cheapness is always funny
I agree with him here
The laugh track is so much louder than the actual actors lol
1:24 george smacking Kramer hahah
Cosmo Kramer is the best character ever!
Cosmo Kramer and Norman Newman...The Dynamic Duo
Pretty sure George & Elaine were laughing genuinely
Seinfeld is one of my favorite sitcoms of all time.
Jerry and Elaine's reaction to learning Kramer's name is just priceless!
This is obviously Larry David’s idea, he doesn’t tell anyone before rolling, clearly shows that the laugh Jerry and Julia have is real and unscripted. LD is a genius! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No matter how many times I watch it, it cracks me up.
3:44 Cosmo!
One more thing I love about this show , every scene can be dissected and discussed . There's something relevant going on at all times. And they could make the most trivial topics and events , take center stage. Seinfeld NAILED it. 💯😂
2:41 the response is so genuine, i don't think the actors even knew hahaha
Of course I'm concerned I'm paying for those meals was epic 😂😂
George couldn't wait to spill it

Kramer should be like the joker. No past, no first name, pockets full of lint
He kind of is in a way, excluding the the first name, and past.
You are Cosmo Kramer…. A unique individual who enters a room like no other….
1:35 Jason Alexander barely contained his laughter.
Shame we never got to know _Newman's_ first name. LOL
It’s probably Newman lmfao
What a coincidence that he was planning to embrace his first name, on the same day they happened to find it out, what are the odds.
