I also wanted to keep just the mild overs drive but put in the hardened steel 8/33 underdrive in both axles for some axle reduction. Also shortened the wheelbase and used high clearance links. I really like it better this way.
I wonder if the main problem with sintered gears is the potential for porosity. If you happen to have porosity on a tooth and hit that spot, you’ve got no chance.

..as said the belly is a big downer. If someone designs a better skid for the rig if could be a contender I would think.

That plastic steering slide is bout the only ('cheap'🤷♂️) thing that worries me. Gotta be something better. & needs bearings somehow.
I understand the concept, but anything beats friction against/with plastic

I’ve found that Baja X tires get better the more they are broken in.
I just bought a set of those Mickey Thompson tires and I'm thinking about wheels and inserts. I think they'll work great on my Bomber.

Shaping axles gears that its a pass on buying
I agree that Vanquish shouldnt have went the "sintered' route on the gears.. But, The HD boom racing gears are about $33 per axle and includes the spool! Most RTR's need tires out the box which is more expensive than these gears. Stock tires hook up better than most aftermarket options so its a wash for me

MAN, can you please stop slamming into reverse while going up CROWLEY. Just let the car flip. Less damage then slamming that rear tire into the rock everything. haha it hurts me to see it every time 😅
