    I'm in the process of doing my valve cover, oil filter gasket and injectors on my 2008 E93 and your videos have been super helpful.

    Your videos are the best! Changed valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket on both my 328xi and 335i using your videos. Best DIY on CZcams. Thanks! The 328i now has a vacuum leak I have to find but all else is 👍

    Very instructional video,great job,extremely labor intensive just for a valve cover gasket,30 years ago l would do it but these days BMW techs would do a far superior job than l and no parts left over haha!! p.s. Neat cloths Z..big thumbs up mate!

    couple a questions....first...why didn't you inspect the valve cover to see if it is cracked/warped?...second....using the same bolts is a no-no IIRC?....third those vacuum hoses needed to be changed by the looks of them🤔..... great video tho and plus 1 for the sealant to hold gasket on👍.....personally... i changed the cover,gasket,upgrade the PCV valve to a metal one and replaced the PCV Hose and all the vacuum hoses to eliminate ANY issues while i was down there....cover all my basics.

      Thank you, here are the answers:
      The fact that I didn’t show inspection for crack doesn’t mean I didn’t do it😉 but those valve covers almost never crack, in my practice over 10 years fixing bmws i have never seen those valve covers crack as for warped impossible to spot (also car had 60k miles on it) no reason to suspect any warping
      Second, those bolts are not stretch bolts reusing those is 100% fine never ever had to replace those (the only bolts you replace are on n52 engine with red metal gasket those are aluminum and break really easy)
      Vacuum hoses showed no signs of leaks and till this day haven’t caused any problems, seen this car not long ago and no issues there at all and it’s been a few years
      Hopefully that clarifies everything, cheers😉🙌

    You have great content but to get more views You need to change the channel name with BMW in it helped one other channel I watch. A lot of us look for this content for info. I'm trying to catch up from the years when I left the industry due to lack of training. You are doing great work. Keep them coming. Its just a suggestion. When I do the CCV this summer I may be contacting you for advice, 👍👍👍👍👍

    I managed to slightly break the tip of the fuel injector connector shown at 8:34. The wires are still intact...do you think it needs to be replaced?

    Appreciate the video. Getting ready to do mine in the next week or two. Can you address the use of the grease when service manual says not to use it? But I can see the benefit of it holding in the gasket during the install. Would they state that because the OEM gasket holds in easier so it's not a necessary step or can it hurt the engine? Was that dielectric grease? Thanks.

      @Zeiten  Před 3 lety +1

      Just regular silicone, use it just a tiny bit to hold, it cannot possible damage the engine in any way, but if you just fill up the whole valve cover with silicone it will be counter productive since the gasket will fail prematurely

    Thanks @Zeiten for directing me to this video.
    To be clear. This is the same procedure to replace valve cover gasket for a 2008 E90 Dual Turbo 335XI Sedan model. Is that correct? Thanks.

      @@Zeiten Thanks for that info. It's a little intimidating watching all the steps, but maybe I'll give it a try. It's funny because years ago I had a 1966 Corvette Coupe (wish I never sold it) and it was 4 screws and the valve cover is off! 10 minute job for both valve covers to replace the 2 gaskets!

    Follow up question please 2008 335XI Dual Turbo.
    * Thanks in the past for great info.
    When you remove the engine cover, are the valve cover bolts visible to inspect them that none are loose? Thanks as always...

    Question how did you free up the pressure from the injectors can you Uninstall the fuel rail like that if there still pressure or do I have to take off each injector

    • @Zeiten
      @Zeiten  Před 3 lety

      Just loosen 17mm nut it will release the pressure, no need to touch injectors at all for this job
