The Momotaro family were all born and raised in Japan!
Momotaro (father) was born on Jul 3, 2000
He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.

This video could be titled "Mom's Perfect Love." Kintaro is now 4 yrs old, but you would think he is much younger the way Genki cradles him while he is nursing. And, Gentaro is treated with much affection in this film also. Genki gives him a grooming while loving on him too. Where was Momo? He was probably wonder what to do today. His wife is waiting. She has plenty of love for all the guys in her family according to their needs. ❤️

@giselsimon had a video on Genki’s life story and another one on Gentaro’s life story. Gentaro had to be hand-raised by the zookeepers for several months because Genki wasn’t producing enough milk. They both have amazing stories, especially Genki.

From what I understand, gorillas will continue to be bread in captivity because they are greatly endangered due to poaching and deforestation. The zoos that keep them are world-class facilities that allow researchers to learn something much about helping the species survive, and they provide amazing medical care that allows the gorillas to live significantly longer than they would in nature.

@@kimcolvin3069 thank you. Yes, I saw the videos of little Gentaro being cared for by the zoo keepers. Poor mommy was so upset she didn’t let of Kintaro for how long? Months I think. But, the zoo learned what to do next time if it happens again.
