- The prime minister is announcing strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
From this evening people must stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.
Shops selling non-essential goods will also be shut and gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together prohibited.
The UK death toll has reached 335.
If people do not follow the rules police will have the powers to enforce them, including through fines and dispersing gatherings, Boris Johnson said in a televised statement from Downing Street.
Other premises including libraries, playgrounds and outdoor gyms, and places of worship must also close immediately.
Parks will remain open for exercise but gatherings will be dispersed.

I work as an Online Shopper and it's been absolute chaos the past couple of weeks, all night shift staff are being pushed to the limit, not to mention we're having to put up with ungrateful customers moaning at us for not having items out on the shelf. @@oskat8981 Exactly our ancestors have experienced far far worse and people's reaction to something that has in all reality killed very few people is quite frankly pathetic. The standard flu last year killed up to 500k worldwide this one has only killed around 15k in nearly 4 months. the only real difference's between this flu and the standard one is that there is no definite treatment for it and it's a tad bit more aggressive but like the standard flu the people who die from it are mainly the old,people with underlying medical issues and the very small percentage of healthy people that happen to get it.

I have staying home for about 45 days in north of China It was too suffering ! I bought the vegetables the flour ,the cooking oil…on line and tried to make my life as usual …I cooked,cleaned,did yoga ,learned English …now People can walk on the street,go to the groceries shop but some shopping malls,the restaurants …are still closed everyone is still scared ！

Tomorrow marks one year since the pm announced the first national lockdown in the uk. I remember this last year, i was sad when i can't see my family until the easing of lockdown.
The biggest threat is starvation from lack of food I know many like myself who are disabled @ housebound .
Who do I ASK FOR HELP NOW IT SEEMS I AM NOT ON THE government list for basic foods I have no one I can ASK for help TO get even basic foods delivered to me now ... And the lady that did my cooking can not come anymore so only person i will see is the District Nurse

I can't get food deliveries from Sainsbury's any more. I've been having deliveries from them for years but they just put up a block on the site saying that I'm not on their list of 'vulnerable people'. The hell! I'm in the at risk group, what more do they want? Truth is, they have no idea who actually is at-risk. They know nothing about their customer's circumstances. Their supposed 'phone-in line' is out of use with a pre-recorded message form BT saying it's shut down.
If I survive, at the very least, they've lost a customer.
Yes I encountered that too when trying to book a delivery. I'm also an at-risk person but there is no way they could possibly know because they don't ask and they know nothing about anyone. It's just an excuse to stop all deliveries.
Miele are just as bad, had a repairman booked in, got canceled today with no questions asked because their policy is now only to do repairs for the elderly, the vulnerable and NHS workers. Nobody asked me whether I fall into any of these categories, they just assumed that I don't! Not good for a company that sells such expensive goods - and essential items such as washing machines and cookers!
Supermarkets know that they can make a claim on their insurances so they have stopped doing all deliveries and have massively reduced opening hours under the excuse of Coronavirus - don't believe all this hype about "vulnerable customers", in reality they don't want to work because the insurance will pay out!!!
You must stay at home, because the critical thing we must do is have a party at number 10 and get away with it!
