On the contrary , Mr. Lamb, an old man with a tin leg, has a refreshing and uplifting perception. His optimism and accepting attitude attracts Derek. He believes that disability should not be an identity mark, but a driving force to push one's limits. He himself serves as an epitome of a self sufficient person who has made his tin leg, just an inconspicuous chapter of his life .His "peculiar" yet empathetic words, ignites hope in Derek and motivates him to quest for the inner strength in him. Although, Mr. Lamb leaves for heavenly abode, his words completely revolutionise Derek's attitude and plants self- confidence in him.
One of tge best chapters i ever read ,it really broke me in tears, i wish such chapter could be added into the books more instead of boring detailed chapters like journey to the end of the earth
