- You would think that doing a simple toy review would be easy right? Too bad that toy that the Critic reviewed is possessed.

this should be nominated for best homade horror movie
fafa ardolino it should be
*homemade
100%
pro tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Jose Zeke yea, I have been using Flixzone} for months myself :D
LOL imagine the guy filming this.
There's a grown man screaming and wildly spinning in circles while he holds a Teddy Ruxpin near his crotch.
The 2000's were weird.
They still are man!
Wait,what did I say?
It so creepy
He does a surprisingly good “Teddy Ruxpin” impression!
The only toy the Nostalgia Critic ever reviewed… well unless you count anecdotes and reflections about the toys in his commercials specials (NOW A CONFIRMED YEARLY TRADITION)
And My Pet Monster
I thought that was just background info for the special?
Scott Sandler
Well yeah but he does still talk about the toy a little bit if I remember correctly
Scott Sandler it wasn't too much of a review, more of a short horror clip
Of course he never gave another complete toy review. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED HERE! ;)
I love it how he is still wearing the hat to sleep😅
The only thing I remember about Teddy Ruxpin is swapping out the storytime cassette in the one I saw for a Slayer tape
And this is why I'm no longer allowed anywhere near kindergartens
+showstealer1829 when I got to be about 13 I burnt mine a little, cut off some of his fur, and replaced his eyes with red rubber balls.
Sounds like my kinda guy..:D
That sounds cool.
Really A Slayer tape? How did that turned out?
showstealer1829 did it work?
This was a perfect mix of scary, and ridiculously hilarious.
At the scene in the bathroom did anyone else want rob to walk by see the critic and keep walking saying “Nope”
TheCreepyninja yes
Teddy Ruxpin vs. Mr. Bucket
Yes. YES! So much yes!
I'd pay to watch that
That needs to happen
Bah! Corky (sp?) Is far more terrifying than Ruxpin; a doll thatpredates theChild's Play movies and looks like Chucky with curly hair, an identical voice, and a catchphrase of "Hi! I'm Corky! Wanna play with me?". Even his clothing and packaging is just colorswapped for Chucky.
I really feel like nc got inspiration from that avgn video
good call, that's what I was thinking. Does anyone know who did this kind of thing first?
Teddy Ruxpin will go down in history as the Nostalgia critic's worst nightmare. Oh wait, he already is.
Dantaefett Icus Arnold Baby...
MAAAAAMMMMMAAAAAA
Dury Zaragosa-Camacho AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH AAAAAAHHHH AAAH AAHHA AAAAHHHHHHH
Son of the mask or Horned King tho
Don't forget the Garbage Pail Kids
I remember seeing this a couple of years ago and to this day, its still funny and scary as hell.
Dang. Doug predicted both Slender and Freddy Fasbear in the same video.
Brandon Roswell No, he didn't. Now go play (or since you've obviously never PLAYED those games, watch) a REAL FUCKING HORROR GAME rather than that shit.
Lucas Bell dude you're complaining about a comment that's two years old. How fucking dumb are you?
DigitalSmoke The amount of time between responses doesn't change their validity.
Yeah I know it's awsome
@@lucasbell4831 calm down dude, why so angry?
Still scarier than all the Chucky-sequels.
Agreed. I bet even CHUCKY would have nightmares about Teddy Ruxpin.
Fuzzy Bunny Slippers Maybe Chucky could learn something from him since Teddy gets the job done.
+Pumuckl
Agreed. 😱
Pumuckl correction: scarier than all the chucky movies
Pumuckl 2 and Curse were alright
Even though this video is supposed to be funny, some of these scenes were legitimately scary. O-O
Agreed. Nostalgia Critic understands the essence of what horror movies truly scary unlike the jump scare, gore fest, ugly CG monster filled films we have today. It's about the absence of context, which is not elaborated in the main plot because the mind alone can fill the gaps of the eerie absence of explanation. Teddy initially isn't shown to move in the beginning. He's one place, and then he gets closer, but it's in a way, that it seems like he's suddenly in another location. You don't know how or want to accept that he moved, but the scarier part is that lack of movement. The absence of explanation of why a horrific thing is happening or what the horrific thing actually is one of the more solid aspects of horror that transcends time, but it's slowly being forgotten unfortunately. Which is a shame.
*c o m e d r e a m w i t h m e t o n i g h t*
IKR? Freaking shivers from a teddy bear
it will take more than that to scare me.
@@animefan77 Pretty much sums up why SCP-173 is scary, because humans don't like things that move when we're not looking at them you know? Just watch how a tiger hunts, they only move when their prey isn't looking at them and then stand stock-still when they glance over to where they are.
(Also the scariest story I know is one that I heard on the radio when I was little. I call it the Knock-Knock story cuz I don't know the name of it, but it's about a girl in a rowboat in a little alcove. She was writing in her journal and suddenly there was a knock underneath the boat so she goes to look. She doesn't see anything so she thinks it was just a log/branch or something and then a minute later there's another knock from under the boat. So she gets one of the oars and tries to fish out the log underneath the boat and something grabs it! She doesn't know what it was cuz it's dark out and the water is black but it pulls the oar underwater. So she tries to row away but something grabs the other oar and it pulls it out of her hands. So being terrified she decides to write in her journal about the events. Next morning they find the rowboat torn to pieces on the beach and in her journal on the last page muddy and really badly written on it is simply written "I knocked first".
That story is terrifying to me simply because I don't know what was under the boat, I don't know how he was able to write that down, I don't know why he grabbed the girl and because I simply don't know it's F*CKING TERRIFYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Critic, don't forget. That creepy caterpillar thing is also still alive...and waiting for you.
That shot of Ruxpin's point of view as his head spins right side up was a very genius shot. Great way to tell us his head was floating without showing us; which would have looked goofy had you shown it.
7:25 Jeez when nostalgia critic screams he sounds like Marv in home alone 2 when he is getting electrocuted
this reminds me of five nights at freddys. animatronic bear, it is possessed, and scares the shit out of you.
Da Taco Girl Meh. Teddy bears are too common as toys.
I was thinking more along the lines of a Chuckie doll.
He made it to look like that.
Fran Bow Trash Teddy Ruxpin is more like Chucky, as he talks, moves, and is a toy bear
Psh... Like Freddy Fazbear actually SCARED anyone...
Yeah it's like Freddy
From the people who brought you "Child's play" and from the director of "Annabell" comes a new toy to haunt your kids. "Teddy Ruxpin" coming soon to a theater near you
Matthew's Random stuff Hell no! Not the director of Mortal Kombat Annihilation!
I still say the voice of that demon must die once he does that thing goes with him I only hope god has mercy on his soul for helping bring that monster into this world
The new Chucky is basically what Teddy Ruxpin is
Imagine saying Annabelle is scary
Director: CUT! Print that, ASAP! And somebody get this man a medal!
This is still a brilliant homemade horror today as it was when the critic was still filming in home.
"One step away from having a robot completely look after your kids." He predicted the future now we have toddlers glued to their mother's phone....My my how far we've come..... >_>
I was about 9 when Teddy Ruxpin came out. While I've seen cuter teddy bears, he didn't strike me as hideous or frightening. In fact, he was a refreshing change of pace after being mired in Cabbage Patch Kids mania for a couple of years. Now *those* things were fugly as hell. A talking teddy was kinda cool, and certainly no worse a babysitter than the TV. At least he didn't spew Flintstones and Brady Bunch reruns.
how good is he at playing mixtapes?
Me: I don't see how that's creepy.
Critic: (Puts the tape in the bear)
Me: O.O
INTPTT EXACTLY
Good luck sleeping tonight (sorry)
Imagine putting a Twisted Sister cassette in!
That toy legitimately scares me too. I saw one in an antique store once and I’ll never forget the run-in. I don’t know how, but I didn’t notice at first. I was knelt down, looking at something on the shelf below him. When I got up and realized he was there, literally staring me down, I gasped and backed into the shelf behind me. I must have gasped pretty loud, because I had at least one person stop and stare at me. Seeing his face in mine, Teddy Ruxpin’s, nearly gave me a heart attack. I’m not even kidding, it was awful. As innovative and impressive as that toy is, I’d never be able to sleep with one in my collection. I’d be forever uncomfortable..
6:52 When the quiet kid finally finds his childhood bully after so many years
4:56
When you’re at school and no one shuts up
This is clearly what inspired the Winnie the Pooh horror flick.
With the exception that this one is actually good.
@@jesusromanpadro3853 That goes without saying😂
I shouldn't have watched this at 5 in the morning.
I've watched this at midnight and I'm twelve
TELL me about it 😐
I.....fell.....in.....LOVE with Ruxpin as a small child. I remember having a book that he can read along too. I didn't master learning how to read at the time, but I was mesmerised by having a teddy bear come to life! He needs a comeback with clearer sound quality. Whose with me?
a company called wicked cool toys made a new teddy ruxpin
Teddy is back
thats what you got out of this video?
I'm so glad my parents never got me one of these. HOWEVER my parents did get me one of those creepy phones with the smiley face on it. That thing scared the living shit out of me!
QUICK, DESTROY IT BEFORE IT KILLS YOUR FRIENDS!
I just love seeing Doug acting! There's so much effort in his works and acting!!
3:08 his scream still makes me laugh to this day.
Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since Nostalgiaween began. 🎃 And it all started with a Teddy Ruxpin plush.
All I really took from this is how Doug's camera back then had surprisingly-great picture quality outside of the typical NC set. And this was in 2008.
More than great image guality, it was good framing and good usage of techiniques such as hand held
All these years and I don’t think a single person has mentioned the Exorcist soundtrack Doug used. Makes watching the movie even better being reminded of Critic the whole time
They brought this toy back! I saw one at Wal-Mart. 😂
That voice is so accurate
Isn't there a Twilight Zone episode exactly like this?
+Nate J. No, i found it. I don't remember the name but its the episode with the doll that wants to kill the parent of the daughter, its a creepy episode.
+Nate J. its where a doll attempt to kill a girls father and he ends up tripping over it on the stairs and dying
I think Doug took inspiration from that one. "Living Doll".
Christopher Joy Living Doll is the episodes name
There was also a TV show about a little girl's Barbies that come to life and attack the babysitter and the little girl with a pretty awesome twist.
The gun in the mouth thing actually scared me.
My sister had a Teddy Ruxpin while a had a Big Bird version of it with four story books and cassette tapes. My mom said she ended up hating Big Bird because I would play the thing all the time :P
When ruxpin says nostalgia critic I thought "oh no he's alive!,and he watches CZcams! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
0:39 that was the fastest review I ever heard from him.
0:46 wait, what?
0:56 oh that's just fine. I didn't need to sleep ever again anyway
What. The. Hell. Critic.
JaredRmz NERD
JaredRmz NERD
Love how the acting of the teddy is perfect xD
Talky Tina: My name is Talky Tina!
Teddy Ruxpin: Hold my Beer!
P.S. - 8:00 - The Bitter End
When Teddy’s about to say I am the devil it should be replaced with a rick roll
I wish he would do more episodes like this.
We need Teddy to come back.
SideShowBatt They are making a new teddy ruxpin soon.
SideShowBatt they are remaking him
He ultimately reappeared in one one of the critics commercial specials though
It’s July 4th today and to celebrate this holiday I’m rewatching all of nostalgia critic. Starting from season 1 to now and when rewatching old videos it’s kinda impressive how much the video quality and audio quality have improved. But not in a drastic super quick kinda way that can be jarring just slow implementation of improvements throughout each video.
This and the AVGN Mr. Buckett both deserve such praise.
Doug should team up with James Rolfe and make Teddy Ruxpin vs Mr. Bucket, with cameos from the Dream Phone and Grubby.
I like how both Doug and James had special episodes about childhood toys becoming violent
" _I'm Mr. Buckeeeeet... _*_I'M GONNA SUCK ON YOUR BAAAAAAAAAAALLS!!_* "
Man this was great. He should make more festive short films.
And yes, that _is_ the actual original voice of Teddy Ruxpin: Phil Baron.
Aaron Handy III
Really? I thought it was just a really good impression.
Seriously?!
wait seriously?
When I first watched this years ago, I thought this was a really good impression NC did. Now I hear it 😟
How does he find him? And this was when TGWTG was still new.
this gave me nightmares now atempting to watch it 7 years later
This whole time I'm just thinking, that's a really nice house. I wish I had a house that nice.
This makes me laugh every time maybe it's the punch noise or that body slam
This is a classic, one i actually missed before now. Didnt even know it existed til now lol
I had that as a kid, and it's eyelids were stuck so he couldn't blink.
That's not creepy at all 😅
3:16 - 3:21 If you close your eyes, it actually sounds like Doug is laughing 😃 with Teddy 🧸
Adorable!
Why do you sleep in a hat ?
So he is ready to review at a moments notice
Also, why does he keep a baseball bat at the kitchen?
@@runefaustblack That actually makes sense many kitchens are located at the back of the house near a back door. Having a bat there can be helpful if someone breaks in
Oh, OK. Houses big enough to have back doors are pretty rare in my city so I didn't think of that.
@@runefaustblack Yeah if you live an area with mostly apartments or house built so close they abut on each other its not something you worry about ...and with NC the amount of people who break in he needs all the help he can get
If that really happened it would be very scary
Poor mr critic Teddy Ruxpin is coming back next year and he's gonna be more advanced XXD
Hi I'm Teddy Ruxpin "cuts to evil self and red eyes" I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN YOU CRITIC!!!
ME NEITHER BITCH (Holds a Gun, i his christmas crazy mask from i fucking love christmas video and has Santa Christ, the MalcolmDevil, Tamara, Malcolm, at his side, all holding guns. Teddy has eyes wide open).
He'll be back like i was. Many times.
Krieger that would be a good sequel
3:00 "Oh dear..."
3:04 Then I guess I wouldn't be able to do this....
3:08 AAAAAAAAH
this is the best movie that Nostalgia Critic has made
I'll never understand why people in horror films don't turn on the lights when they're searching their homes at night for an intruder....
I used to have something like Teddy Ruxpin, except the cassette told bedtime songs and it would dance to it.
This must've been before his girly scream developed
this is fun and scary at the same time lmao
poor teddy. he just wanted a hug. lol!!
One of my favorite NC videos. Thanks for uploading.
sad this is better than most shitty horror movies coming out left and right
I remember I had the Michael Jackson cassette tape and put it in my teddy ruxben. It was so cool to me as a kid. A bear singing(mouthing) Michael Jackson. Lmao XD
So it's basically a domesticated Chuck E. Cheese animatronic...
And what you are. ... don't tell Teddy about not being real. He's no less real than the beef patty in your Big Mac.
Just splicing a mr.robot quote to fit the bathroom scene
The only thing creepier than Teddy Ruxpin is the Animatronic Chuck E Cheese with the green eyes! 👀 🙀
I had one of those when I was little and it never creeped me out I thought it was really cool how it blinked and moved its mouth
I was half asleep and wanted to close this (was in automatic playlist) so imagine how fast I woke up when I saw that face staring at me.
I love how it is basically a child friendly terminator, I half expected an I'll be back line in there somewhere. Or an Asta la vista baby! Oh please can you do that as a sketch!
This makes me miss all the cuddling I did with my Teddy Ruxpin while watching horror movies as a child.
And now I present to you a grown man with the ability to say bad words being scared of a talking toy that actually kind of looks cute
Also 0:00-0:43 is when the video is normal
Teddy Ruxpin: Combined it with a Furby, and you get Tattletail.
I love that Nostalgia Critic sleeps in his hat
This is the kind of horror I genuinely miss.. Those homemade, smaller budget films that mix in creative cinematic sequences and the right amount of adult humor all within a timeframe of under 10 minutes!
Nostalgia Critic: "What the hell are you?"
Teddy Ruxpin: "Do you really wanna know?"
Critic shakes head
Teddy: "I'm the DEVIL!
This was the first nostalgia critic video I watched and it actually kinda scared me when I was younger Lul now i find it hilarious
10 years old and still good.
Happy Halloween
That moment at 4:12 when you clearly see nostalgia critic's shadow on the wall
Best episode of nostalgia critic Halloween special
I'm only five years late seeing this for the first time, but this was great. This reminds me of when I was twelve and my sister and I made a home movie like this where the stuffed bears came to life.. ours did not have quite the same production quality though. haha
I love how Doug sleeps in his hat, LOL
There is nothing funnier than putting a slayer cassette into a Ruxpin doll and watching him sing the songs though LMAO
Even though I love Teddy Ruxpin, this is pretty cool
lmao this reminds me of child's play 😂😂😂😂😂
Same here
Ah, so this is where the commercials Teddy Ruxpin joke came from
I feel like this is one of the best Season 1 episodes and maybe one of the 50th best Nostalgia critic episodes. Also it would be cool if it got the George Lucas treatment and had a remaster or remake with better effects and widescreen, except you know, nothing stupid like making his house have a rooftop he runs to or something.
3:20 Much funnier than when Disaster Movie did it.
Just came to think about it. I have been watching the critic for over 8 years. wow
That knife the bear had looks like it needs to be re-tempered or something, ‘cause damn
Nostalgia Critic = Teddy Ruxpin
Board James = Mr. Bucket
