04 Turbo Cavalier Build: Mounting The Turbo

In this video we get the turbo header on the car and clear out some room for the turbo, then we install the turbo and tighten everything down. In the next video we'll go over everything that is already done to the car and we'll finish up the piping from the turbo to the intake. For now this car has the stock engine and transmission, but there are big plans for this car in the future! This is not a customers car. Thanks for watching! Thinking about doing this on my 04 🤠
I have a 02 pontiac grand am it has the same engine and I was wording where did you get all this stuff for this build I want to do something like this to my car if that even posable
I’m curious to I have a Cavalier as well and want to add power
Be soft on the timing above 15 psi I lifted #4 ring land last weekend on the stock piston
I'm going to run it on 10psi until I get forged internals and a built transmission. Thanks for the info though! Much appreciated.
You will have plenty of room for safety on 10 psi depending on turbo. I’m running a super 16g but will be upgrading to gt35r after build

I've just got a cheap Ebay turbo on it right now, but when I build the other motor it's getting a BorgWarner ball bearing turbo.
10 psi on super 16g and run +26 on timing on my daily pos cav

Should be fun when we completely build everything on this car and get a better turbo. It weighs 2500 pounds with me in it. When the build is completely done we're shooting for around 500whp.
got an 04 base model 5 spd. only options were pwr sunroof and the sportier suspension lol...been driving it for 16 years and thinking about turboing. the reviews on the obx are horrible, what do you guys think of it now that it's been a few months?
So far so good! We haven't really got to drive the car yet much though. If you subscribe to my channel, I plan to finish this car up soon. There are a lot of things I want to do to it, eventually it'll be fully built, my plan is to make around 500whp with this car. And you won't miss anything we do with it, cause I record everything.

Just run the charge pipe to the intercooler and put a filter on the turbo

Where did you find a manifold that fits? I can't find any turbo parts for an 04
We just looked one up for this engine, not this car, then we made it work, lol.
@@1018Video what about the egr passages that go into the stock manifold? Is it okay to block them with the new manifold? I would think that would throw an egr code right?

We just removed all of that, when the car gets tuned that will all be deleted and turned off in the tune.
What turbo kit did you guys use and where from?
