    what if you want to put a single din head unit in a double din spot and a half din equalizer? will both fit?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před 7 lety +2

      Typically yes it will. You might have to fabricate a mount for the EQ.

    Hey, do you know if it’s possible to remove that pocket to get another din slot? I want to replace my double din radio with a single din radio and a single din cb. It’ll go in a 2004 f150

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před 2 lety

      Some kits the pocket is removable. Typically Schosche kits were like that.

  • @gulllllll1

    What if your back plugs and original plug inserts are different from the new head unit plug?. Can you get apdapters for it. I have a double din with a screen for my 2014 hilux, but i dont want any thing fancy, a single din sony is fine for me but the back confuses me.

    I know this sounds silly, but this is only my second time installing a radio. If I'm going from a double din factory unit to a double din aftermarket unit in a 2007 Kia Rondo, do I need to use a kit for installation or will it just slide in, like my single din did in my 97 tbird?

    My 2002 Focus has a single DIN unit installed into a similar kit, but the retaining screws are not accessible, until after the radio and kit come out. How do I remove mine to access the screws holding my heater, AC, vent controls to get at the bulbs behind it?

    @silverr616 I get people in the shop from time to time that don't understand all the parts needed to do a proper installation. So I made some videos breaking the parts down for people that don't know.

    Well isn't that just dandy... I can now see why some people say there deck is loose after installing, I'm sure they never thought of or did, push those pins down to secure the cage properly. Would make sense of the matter anyways.

  • @SM-gp2xh
    @SM-gp2xh Před 5 měsíci

    This is way better than using the arms that come with the dash kit because you can get the deck out without taking the whole dash trim etc apart again... want a new deck or change the single din unit... just slide it out no problem.

    • @robertbridges2630
      @robertbridges2630 Před 8 lety

      +AnthonyJ350 2002 Monte Carlo, I had my bro pick me up a jvc head unit and a mounting kit. the kit seems too skinny, not being able to fit everything in properly. not sure if I would need to get a different mounting kit, or a new radio. not knowing yet if the mounting kit fits my car, but he said he was sure it would but I haven't torn the old one out of my car yet to check

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před 8 lety

      Are you putting in a single DIN or double DIN? Cause those cars can take either. What brand mounting kit did you get?

    • @robertbridges2630
      @robertbridges2630 Před 8 lety

      +AnthonyJ350 double din and I believe it's a scosche mounting kit, generally I can make it work, but it isn't right. it's all crammed in and can't bend any tabs down to stabilize it.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  Před 8 lety

      +Robert Bridges Usually when doing an install like yours you don't use the cage and just bolt the head unit to the kit with the supplied screws with the head unit. Should be a fine thread machine screw.

  • @happyjack880

    Unfortunately some of these kits, Metra for example, are just plain crap. $20 for 30 cents worth of plastic. Often screws that are listed as included are missing. The plastic is often warped. It takes a bit of ingenuity to make these things work as they were intended. I've had to super glue spacers in place that should just fit in place and stay there. If you're not a professional installer and you want to upgrade the audio in your vehicle just pay an installer to do it. Trust me it's worth it in the long run.

    • @AnthonyJ350

      Different brands make kits better for certain vehicles.
