I love the style of both homes, rustic and farmhouse. I like when Laura said that in one store they only had trendy and modern stuff, so she's going to find something else at Garden Center.
Two perfect moments when 1. Aaron readily said yes to drive you. and 2. when your mom said it's perfect and she won't change a thing. That's love right there -- the most important thing in the world.

My husband is an amazing husband and father, but we lack the support of our parents. What I would give to have that family dynamic. I love watching them with their family.

Such a beautiful arrangement. Just wondering, do you trim the ends of the flowers before arranging so they have a fresh cut? I have heard you should do this so they last longer.

@@sherylcleveland8855 Yes, generally you trim the end for a fresh cut. You usually need to cut it to length anyway before putting it in the arrangement because the flowers you get at the grocery store tend to have very long stems.

Wow Laura, you say you are not a professional, but you are so amazing at these simple but elegant cut flower arrangements, I am always in awe at how beautiful they always turn out, and it was so heart warming to see how grateful your sweet mom was at this gift of love. Mom's are the best and yours is so amazing, when you went to the garden center and showed your parents store front, it sparked a memory in me, a long time ago when I was in Oregon I do remember seeing your parents store but it was when I was younger and not into garden things like I am now, so that made me smile. flowers are funny things. they will go where they will go, no matter how many frogs, stakes,or cages we put in with them. this arrangement was lovely.

How beautiful Laura! Your mom and the relationship you share reminds me so much of my own mother. My mom suffered two strokes in 2016 and was also diagnosed with dementia at the time of the first stroke. She’s doing well now but of course is no longer able to do all she used to enjoy doing. Like you and your mom, she was always busy in the garden or inside her home. Her style of decorating and gardening tended to be more formal than my own - but we both appreciated the same things. Your mom’s home reminds me so much of my parents’ home. This is already too long but I guess I just wanted to thank you for sharing a bit of your relationship with your mother. You both remind me of my mom and I - bringing back wonderful memories. 😊thank you

I say this a lot but what a fun video for coffee with Laura, Aaron, mom, and dad!! I love what you said about " life wouldn't be fun if we didn't do unnecessary things!." That is right up there with romancing the ordinary. What a beautiful display you made and the vase was perfect! You have such an artist's eye for color and arranging things it always looks great. Thank you for the inspiration on using different things to put flowers in and on what to look for out in the garden to go with what we flowers we can find in the winter. Love your parents yard as well, would be fun to see a video of how they do the winter as I really like the things they had up to feed birds.

I've not done that and that is part of the reason (and you) that I'm starting a cut flower garden this spring! Excited!

You’ve so inspired us over quarantine 2020 that we’re growing a garden: tomatoes, celery, broccoli, zucchini, yellow summer squash, green, red, yellow, & orange bell peppers, a mixture of red, yellow& orange sweet peppers, onions, garlic!!!!
