Playing The Sims 2 in 2022 is really fun but especially with the Bon Voyage holiday pack installed! This old Sims game is really cool!

AGREED! Sims 2 has aged REALLY WELL, all things considered, and I'd be more excited for a completely remastered/remade TS2 over a new TS5 game.
I personally would also add story progression but apart from that a big fat yes!

@@MagicallyElena I would say dine out already came with Nightlife. Bon Voyage just use the same mechanics in Nightlife for restaurants in hotels.
Speaking of which The Sims 2 Nightlife includes the following in the Sims 4: Get Together, City Living, Dine Out, Bowling Night, Vampires. Literally you can merge 4-5 Sims 4 packs to one Sims 2 EP.

Even the sims 2 glitches are more entertaining than the sims 4, people’s braces and bodies disappearing, weird flying vs my sims not moving and ignoring me for a whole in game day
My favorite glitch from the Sims 2 when I mess around the clock speed while my Sim is cleaning the counter. The soap bubbles keep following their hands until they leave the lot lol.
Sims 2 packs used to have literally so much stuff! BV not only had sauna / massage table but also hot springs, fully functionable tea tables with cushions, zen garden, shrines, axe throwing, log rolling, food stalls, fountains and that’s just the stuff off the top of my head- not to mention THREE worlds. All that stuff would literally be three or more different packs in TS4

@@CodexArgenteus I would recommend going to your nearest thrift store and try to find a copy of it there. I’ve gotten base game and some stuff packs from my Goodwill.

I think Will Wright was still around for 2 and thats why its so good. The minute he left they really started milking it for all it was worth and tbh I think that was a good part of why he left in the first place. What he wanted and what EA wanted probably weren't the same. He even tried to put weather in base game for Sims 2 and the only reason it wasn't included was because it was buggy. They needed time to make it so it wasn't raining indoors lol
@@CodexArgenteus the kids and teens in sims 2 are pretty fleshed out as well, the teens can actually sneak out! and get caught by the cops lol

Revisiting the previous Sims games (especially their packs) always makes me so sad for the Sims 4. There was alot of potential in this fourth installment but EA chose profit over substance. To this day, after all these years, the expansions, the game packs, the stuff packs, the kits, we still have a game that feels so shallow and lacking in very basic features. They've doubled the amount of content you need to pay for, but halved the available gameplay. If I didn't know any better, I'd say they could do better for the Sims 5, but I expect much worse than TS4 for the future.
i wouuld expect paid subscription (like Waorld of Warcraft used to be) with microtransactions for prettier stuff

The main main main main prediction i have for sims 5 is it's lags and glitches and disappointing unpolished quality in mechanics, graphics, options etc.

Bon Voyage has to be one of my favourite expansion packs ever. The garphics look way worse looking back at it but the gameplay was chef's kiss.
The constant shade towards the Sims 4 is killing me🤣. Also. How many times does he say "literally".
Bigfoot is the best part of the bon voyage pack - his skills are all maxed out which is great for getting things done

It's very clear how much they are dividing packs up and capitalizing off of them... I'd love to see a series like this, maybe with sims 3 too. We love to bitch about the sims 4 xD

I honestly feel sorry for people who have only played TS4 (i.e. Gen Z). When I was a kid begging my parents to buy me packs, THESE were the packs. They actually had fun gameplay and loads of different features. Whereas Gen Z are begging their parents for shallow, boring packs that have about a quarter of the content and usually break the game.
NO BC SERIOUSLY! I was an avid TS3 player, and I remember spending hours up until 4am playing the base game + late night because that’s all the games I had and it was a blast. Now I can manage the sims 4 for about 20 minutes and I get bored of it. There’s just so little to do and everything has been stripped away

@@robertbonds6680 Lol what? I'm not judging anyone. I literally said I feel sorry for them. Sims 4 is all they know. And, let's face it, it is a shallow shell of a game compared to the older ones. I was 15 when Sims 2 came out and I'd already played and loved Sims 1 for four years. I adored Sims 2, and either saved up my pocket money or begged my parents to buy me every new expansion. And every one enriched the game in hundreds of untold ways. I still play Sims 2 now, nearly 18 years later, because it's a rich gameplay experience and every time I play I'm *still* discovering things I never knew about it - that's just how much thought was put into the game. I genuinely feel sorry for people who think Sims 4 is as good as it gets because it's just... not.

I freaking LOVE how many times you've said "Sims 4 could never" XD Honestly! Sims 4's MULTIPLE pack content is so much LESS compared to ONE Sims 2 pack. Sims 2 Bon Voyage is seriously so much more fun than Dine Out, Snowy Escape and Island Living put together.

Loving all these and more.... you can also get a voodoo doll in the secret beach lot, having a log roll battle in the forest and learn tai chi. Loads of things to do, just need to be nosy and click around.

I’m so sorry to use your comment section to rant but i’m about to pop OFF about the sims real quick.
I’ve always been a sims lover ever since I was little. I remember being about 8 and begging my mum for the sims 2. I remember she got it for me one christmas. It wouldn’t run on my laptop I subbed about it for HOURS. I got it back when they were giving out the entire game for free a few years ago and I’m so happy about it.
As a little girl though I was a MASSIVE sims 3 advocate. I remember specifically the packs I had. I had the base game, I had late night. I also had that town life stuff pack because I thought it was meant to be something big butttt..
Anyway, I would stay at my dad’s every weekend and would play the base game or late night everyday until 4/5am. My sleep schedule was awful but that game could keep me entertained for hours.
I have the sims 4, but it’s uninstalled on my computer and has been for months now. It’s so bare and there’s nothing to it that I have literally fallen asleep on top of my laptop while playing it because it’s just so lacklustre.
Making character in the sims 2 there was personality even with so few options for personality. Every sim felt different. I remember having my slobbish sim eating with their hands while my neat sim glared directly at ME in the camera and it felt so funny.
I play sims 3 daily now for my long term legacy house and every sim I’ve had has felt different. I’ve had sims that have caused fights, sims that have made themselves pass out. Some that hated a film while their partner loved it. Some that are great parents, some that are awful. Hell, the other day one of my sims beat up a burglar while the other one was crying about the lights being off since they were scared at the dark.
What does the sims 4 give? Ok yeah, my sim might feel nauseous when I give them something with meat in it. Oh, my sim got a 12 hour positive moodlet because they gardened for an hour? How interesting.
Every sim in 4 just feels like a carbon copy of the next. I can make them LOOK gorgeously different, I won’t deny the CAS is better. But I think sim 4 put more emphasis on looks than gameplay. Yes, I can make diverse sims. Yes, I can build a beautiful mansion. Absolutely, it’s all more intuitive, but what’s the point in all that when the gameplay is boring, repetitive and the sims themselves are just copy and pastes with different looks.
to be honest i’ve lost all hope with the sims and EA. I don’t think they’ll ever make a sims 2 / sims 3 again. I’m setting my sights on their competition like paralives, people who actually care about their product and community and not just the $$ they can rake in. I’ll keep playing sims 3 because I adore it, I’ll check back on sims 2 because it’s nostalgic and I like it, but sims 4 and anything beyond this is dead to me.
There is no love and integrity left in the sims franchise.

Each City from this pack has a hidden location but you have to discover it! There is much more fun and suprises😃 you can leaen how to dance hawai, meet pirate, learn some chinese legends and my best part is taking photos!! I loved to take photos of my family and then you can order an album 😍 and watch it as long as you want

Bon Voyage has special characters at each vacation spot. The ninja is one in the Asian place (sorry, can't remember name of it). He'll teach you to teleport if you answer his question correctly. The "right" answer is random. I hunted him down and answered his questions 11 times one vacation because I really wanted to learn that teleport! I ... may have killed him after. >> You missed the witch doctor guy with the voodoo doll at the island place, but you met Bigfoot. Anyway, you pointed out one of my beefs with Sims 4 packs: They're bits and pieces that belong in one big pack (or maybe put in one of the EPs) instead of nickel and diming everyone.
