Love that you ask lots of questions but I would suggest focusing on what Chris is trying to get you to do and getting that down before introducing more variables and swing thoughts. Notice how you asked a bunch of things like the left hip, the release, etc but Chris keeps going back to maintaining that wrist angle since that's the key thing he wants you to get. Focus on a couple things at a time and you'll make faster progress than trying to think of 5 things at once! Also great to see you working on the putting with Chris!
Couldn't agree with that statement anymore! I had the same issue always asking questions and trying to analyze everything. When I stopped asking and just listened, is when I really got better and grew...
I couldn’t agree more with this. Jerome also has a tendency to think he has “mastered” something far before he actually has. I really think it’s more his mental strength and a personality trait of being over confident in his abilities is what is holding him back from improving. He’ll make actual progress once he genuinely realizes he sucks, starts listening to his coach, and has enough patience to not move onto the next thing until he has the previous step down.
I think in Jerome's case, he still doesn't realize it's repetiton repetiton repetiton. When he's got the hang of what Chris wants, then fine tune it. He's definitely a very analytical guy, maybe too much sometimes. That chip stick drill was brilliant. The instant feedback took his over-analysis out of the equation, as far as the hand position and rotation go.
I enjoyed this segment, but I have questions. Would uses that same drill or exercise qith a driver with the understanding that one is hit up on the ball with a wider stance. Thanks, Herman
I am honestly one of your day 1 fans of your channel. I tremendously enjoy watching your journey to becoming scratch golfer and I truly believe that you WILL get there! I am a maid amateur golfer, and I've been looking for a drill to improve my ball, striking and compressing the ball more and this video I feel will dramatically help with that! I literally cannot wait to get off work to try this drill when I get to the range. Thanks again Jerome!💯
The cause of a flip is almost always a stall of the body rotation. Keep turning and you'll retain the wrist angle. Stop turning and your brain will know it needs to square the face and that's when you'll flip.
New subscriber here that finds myself with the same exact issue flipping my wrists / letting go of my angles / early release / golfer's handshake / forward leaning shaft (so many different terms, it's confusing haha!). I keep seeing instructors show what the hands are supposed to look like at impact (like at 3:29 or 7:00 in this video), but then slow motion swing videos of pro golfers don't seem to have that exact look at impact unless I'm missing something. I imagine they're wanting us to practice an exaggerated feeling so we move towards that position, but unfortunately it hasn't quite translated into good swings for me yet. With that said, which drill or video seemed to have the biggest impact for you personally that consistently helped keep your angles or be in the correct position at impact? That is my biggest struggle at the moment & can't figure it out. Thanks Jerome! Love your stuff!
Nice swing, but don’t forget what the last coach was teaching about balance with the back foot end of swing. Improve balance , your swing will be awesome
Agree the hands are hands down the most important part of your swing (no pun intended) to prove my point you can take a good golfer put them in any position you want in the back swing and after a few shots they will pure it cause they know what the hands need to feel thru impact/delivery in my opinion anyway
I don't see a weight shift anymore, only rotation now... and you will scoop because the lowest point bottoms out before the ball. Technically based on the timing of your "release" you could move the low point anywhere as long as it is close to the ball, and develop a shaft Lean can help you do that... but... just shift your weight to the front foot on the downswing... pls...

This looked like some of your best ball striking to date. Good job man.

Love this drill. You did it well. This will be good for you. Swing looks awesome.

Legend!
I think these videos are pure gold. What does Chris mean when he talks about a loaded club?
So good, was just watching a video of Scottie Scheffler and his coach doing this exact same drill, I need it to help lower my launch angle
Its awesome to see you getting better

Hey Chris is back
Wow 👍
What is the stick being used? I have alignment sticks, but they seem too long for this drill.. And are you just attaching to your club with tape, or?
I wish Chris just did his own YT channel.😏
What Irons are you using? Brand and type. Thanks
How do you square your club up with your right hand?
does this drill and swing concept also apply to woods and driver? keep up the great work
No. This is an iron only feel.
Pls no clickbait titles 🙄🙄🙄
Who is the coach and his website?
Chris being a gentleman letting Jerome putt first every time heh heh
switched focus to lower body and lost sight of the importance of the arms in the swing. bro, the arms are way more important than lower body

IMO you need to be more forward tilted at set up. Atm Ur too much arms and handsy
