Summary:
1. Avocados
It hurts whenever avocados make it on a list of “Bad Foods”. They are so delicious and make for a yummy sandwich. But as it turns out, this scrumptious fruit is a big NO-NO for your dog.
2. Chocolate
The lovely smell of chocolate! It’s not just us who are addicted to it. If you open a brand new chocolate bar, your silly pooch will come running. The smell attracts them too and of course, sugar is their weakness.
3. Raisins & Grapes
In short, never ever feed your dog raisins and grapes. Not even a few. They are extremely toxic for dogs and can cause rapid kidney failure. Even a small amount can send your dog to the ER.
4. Sweet Candles, Toothpaste, And Chewing Gum
There is a reason why we coupled sweet candies, chewing gums, and toothpaste under one heading. All of them contain a sugary-alcohol added to sweeten the taste.
5. Caffeine

lol funny! but white chocolate is not really chocolate. bc it's only made with cocoa butter and not actual cocoa, it has very little theobromine in it (the chemical that's toxic to dogs). although it's still sweetened with sugar and made using milk products, so your dog shouldn't eat it either. it's not good for them, but not as toxic as normal or dark chocolate.

I fed my dog so many grapes and never saw a problem. But i guess nowadays everything is toxic and every fruit is a "superfood". These people are the same that feed chemicals like store bought dry dog food. Same with humans, that's why so many are lactose intolerant. Just feed them meet and whatever else they want in moderation as a snack.

I have a friend who’s dog knocked a chocolate cake and ended up eating a WHOLE HALF, only got a stomach ache. So as much as people say chocolate kills dogs, most of the time they are fine and don’t even get sick.
It's the type of chocolate. It actually has to be real chocolate not stuff like oreos (which doesn't contain real chocolate). So chocolate that has theobromine in it is very harmful to your dog. It's also the caffeine in chocolate as well.
It actually takes a considerable amount of chocolate to poison a dog. Most experts agree it can take up to 1 ounce per pound of body weight. But even at half that rate it would take like 10 or 12 whole Hershey candy bars for a 20 lb dog to get sick. How many people have 10 or more candy bars lying around for there small dog to get hold of? Not suggesting it's ok to feed it to them? Just saying I would not go in to panic mode if someone gave fido a small bite either.
I left my dog for 1 minute to go to the bathroom then I came back I saw he finished the chocolate I was going to sell for a fundraiser and he got so sick but it was actually not the bad- just a bit of diarrhea-
Chocolate doesn't kill you're dog instantly, it will kill him slowly.
asa vet nurse in training , there have been dogs who had 1 lick of hot chocolate and nearly died and dogs who ate a dark chocolate bar and was fine , just at the end of the day why would you feed bad food to them even if they dont die

Yeah well my dog ate a full bar of dark cooking chocolate my cat chucked off the side for him, luckily he survived and now the chocolate gets put in the cupboard even though we've not had Bell for 5 years. My Doberman loved grapes eat more then I did. Lived to 15 yrs old.

I remember when I was a teenager and got my girlfriend at the time a Lindt chocolate rabbit for easter that I put in a drawer in my bedroom. My GSD mix managed to open the drawer while I was out and ate the whole thing. It must have been at least half a pound of solid chocolate. I remember panicking like hell at the time, but he was absolutely fine. Now, I'm not saying people should let their dogs eat any of the things listed here by any means. But I do feel they're giving very extreme examples that may unnecessarily scare people. That being said, if you're giving your dog an item of food that you know they haven't tried before, always check just to make sure it's safe for your dog.
I'm so glad your pup was ok! It really depends on how pure the chocolate is (milk is not as dangerous as dark, etc.), how much he ate, and how much he weighed. My uncle is a vet, and he has had way too many cases of dogs who became critically ill and even died after eating a bunch chocolate brownies, cake, chocolate bars, all kinds of stuff. So it's always best to keep ALL chocolate away from your dog, as you don't want to take any chances.

The Lindt Easter Rabbit contains only 30 % of Cocoa. A larger dog can eat half a pound without any harm. But After that no more chocolate for at least half a year !

My dogs don't like multiple varieties of dog food, dry or wet, so I cook them fish, chicken, beef or pork and yes I am guilty of giving them salt cause of me cooking this food for me as well. THANK YOU! for this well informed information. GOD BLESS!

Omg I didn’t know about grapes!!!! I gave my puppy one a few weeks ago😭
Wait I've gave my dogs grapes, chocolate, and popcorn and they're still perfectly fine and it's been like 3 years.

I had once given grapes to a puppy, I mean it fell down and he seemed to really like it so I gave some more...and now I feel terrible:((
