Love the cabins as well we Been there over 50x and at every loop, but those two cabins have too much people traffic around
, the entire point of a cabin is the outdoors and wilderness feel, that almost feels like a hotel with people walking past your room all day and night long, but if you don’t want to rent a golf cart and walk to the pavilion area then I guess it’s a good spot, Even though with all the social distancing issues right now I would prefer a loop far away from the main areas, thanks for the info!

@@NeverlandFamily We won the SSR lottery earlier this month with a standard studio that was a three minute walk to the Carriage House. Now I did request that area, but knew the odds were not in my favor, but we got it. I was beyond overjoyed. Will book preferred from now on, but we got so lucky with our first stay at SSR.
That's amazing that you got into the 100 loop! People can try for up to 3 years to get one of those cabins. If I remember right these were "test cabins" prior to the installation of the majority of the other cabins in the resort. I miss the Fort so much and am already planning a trip for January, just waiting for room rates to come out. Happy Birthday Max!
+SoloTravelAdventures yes, you are correct! These two cabins were the first test cabins. January is a great time to go! Low crowds which may mean better chance at getting these!
Thanks for taking us through the process and options of buying the commemorative bricks. I have one of the "real" bricks out in front of the Magic Kingdom and was considering getting a new one to replace it... but I'm kind of thinking I won't. I'll be disappointed that my brick won't be there anymore after being a part of the Magic Kingdom for so many years :-( but, it's already been there much longer than originally planned, so I guess I should be happy for that.
Very unOfficial Travel Guides it’s really a shame that they couldn’t salvage each original stone but I would see that being very difficult for them to do. I like that they are giving this option.

From one 2007 Anniversary (ours is in August so I best get planning) to another, Happy Anniversary! Also, Happy B-Day to Max, our oldest just turned 4 too. The time just seems to fly by with them, but seems even quicker now there there are two to try to keep an eye on.
Pretty sure cabins like these would be the only way my wife would consider to "camp".
We got to stay in cabin 118 December 2017. We loved it! I know when we checked in, the cast member said that no one had requested the cabin so they are happy to move us there. We had to stay in the 2600 loop the first night because someone was already in the cabins, but they moved all our luggage & groceries from one cabin to the other while we were at the parks.
Side note about these cabins though, they are considered VIP, so if Disney has a VIP (or corporate big wig) who wants to stay at the cabins, then those are the cabins they put them in, so they aren’t always available to normal guests, but you can always request them! 😊
Some 30+ years ago, my family stayed there and they were just single wide trailers with no siding and mostly dirt roads around. I do remember riding the boat over to the MK.

Great video! I've never stayed at Fort Wilderness but we ate at Trail's End for the first and second time this past January and March. I really like the feel of Fort Wilderness!

Looks like a lot of fun; but am surprised there are NO buses to the Magic Kingdom. Let's say there's a storm or something, I just assummed they'd stop boat transportation (especially those more open boats with the blue awnings). So basically rain or shine, you have to take a boat to the magic kingdom. Good to know.
Kim T yes, you are correct :) To add to that, just so you are aware, you can take either a boat OR bus from MK back to Fort Wilderness settlement.

I know Disney sold a bunch of those park models... years ago I believe all those fifth wheel spaces used to be "cabin" sites. Now they're mostly towards the front entrance (not convenient)! I think once Wilderness Lodge opened, the cabins lost appeal...

Loved the video! So excited to get a new ornament this fall! I’m sure Max is super excited to be tall enough for those awesome rides. I remember when my boys hit those height milestones and how excited they were!
I think your other camera has better video quality than the GoPro, especially when it comes to focus clarity. Do you think one is better than the other? Easier to use?

It’s definitely worth looking into at least once.
I wonder how many people knew nothing of these cabins until now, thus decreasing your odds of ever getting one of these cabins again? Personally, I prefer something a little more off the beaten path. We were there just a couple of weeks ago; stayed in loop 2600. Not near anything except the laundry, but it's very quiet.

Chad and I had no idea about those cabins. We absolutely love the Fort Wilderness Cabins. We just became DVC members at Copper Creek so we’re always excited to learn tips and tricks about the properties. Now I’m really curious as to why only those two were built in the RV loop! I’d love to find that story out.

I mean, to each his own, but I wouldn’t want to be that close to the settlement. Renting a golf cart and tearing around the woods is part of the fun. Plus, you’d lose a lot of that semi-secluded feeling you get at Fort Wilderness.
I would carry churros and coffee for a family! Neverland family having a blast at both of my happy places at the Fort and Magic Kingdom!i have never stayed at the cabins especially the cabins in the 100 loop.Guess I need to save my money and maybe my dreams will come true! I have spoken with cast members about cabins 118 & 120.😊

When did you request this cabin? Was it when you made the reservation and did you make that reservation over the phone or online.

Of course but as much as we like cruising with the golf cart, we would rather save the money and use it elsewhere. Our bikes do the trick and cost nothing :)

I just called to try and reserve one for my son's birthday and they said they don't take reservations for those cabins. They use them for "their things" now. So bummed! We want to win the lottery too. LOL!

Were there ramps to get into the cabins? They look like ADA accessible cabins. The long picnic tables with the short benches are to accommodate a wheelchair.
Sunny 816 the picnic tables we accessible but there were no ramps for this cabin. I know they have accessible cabins in the other loops.

I thought Mickey’s backyard bbq is closed. I tried looking for a reservation for our last trip and it said they were closing it down. After seeing your video I thought maybe they opened it up again because I heard the music coming from there too. So I checked it out for our next Disney trip and no where on the Disney website can you make reservations for Mickey’s backyard bbq. That was always my favorite at Disney activity . Do you have more insight as to why it appears to still be going on but can’t make a reservation? 🤔 Thanks.
At the moment, Disney hasn't announced plans for a replacement of Mickey's Backyard BBQ, which closed to make way for construction of a new Resort hotel on the property. Hoop dee do Review which I mentioned in the vlog is still up and running!

Yes you have to pay for parking while staying at the cabins. I believe we paid $17 per night but I suggest checking the rates since they could have changed since April.
How do you compare Seven Dwarves Mine Train with Slinky Dog? I've never been on either ride. My son will be 4 in October when we go and he is already at the height requirement. He likes fast rides but I haven't even taken him on Barnstormer yet lol!
ChelleCat Slinky dog is faster than Mine Train. The stops in the mine make the Mine Train a little milder than Slinky Dog. Both very fun!!

I requested either of those cabins about ten times last year on each trip to Fort Wilderness my family and I took. I usually just call after booking online and they put it in the notes. It hasn’t worked yet but we are still holding out hope! I was told it’s typically reserved but can sometimes be accommodated on a single night stay basis if a cancellation occurs. Maybe this will be our year!

Hi. So i called to request one of these two cabins and each time the Disney Rep doesn't know about them! I told them there were videos on youtube to support me lol. Did you just call the Disney Direct to request the cabin?
Emily Arthur I faxed in a request to Fort Wilderness a few days before check in. Also, when we checked in, I asked to see if they were available.
Fort Wilderness is pet friendly why you didn’t took the dog
