I really respect how you never take the obvious route. There are so many long shots where you expect a conventional scare trope--Sean getting in his car, standing in his entryway, washing his face in the bathroom--but you never pull the obvious, expected scare like someone sitting behind him, or him looking up and seeing something in the mirror. Every twist is genuinely surprising, and you never feel "safe" enough to lower your guard, but never in the right direction.
It's actually a form of a way to build tension when you expect something scary to happen but nothing does you don't get it truly resolved so even like with the trunk scene where everything calms down afterwards that unease doesn't really leave u
I think Shaun actually died in that accident, that's why he mentions it again in the end. It is a part of the cycle (Limbo). Kyle is Shaun, the part of Shaun that refuses to accept his own death and move on. His "friends" are the spirits who want him to leave the Limbo.
In the end Shaun sees a man get hit by a car. That's how he actually died. He's supposed to stay and watch but he decides to run and hide instead and the cycle continues.
Imma go with that since I had no clue what happened even after watching 2ce.
so whos the one with a gun in the end@@Noahloveless1

@@mehulsingh2116the might be the cycle being “reset”
But why is his friend beating him? 7:19
The dream sequence was seriously the best I’ve seen in a while. You managed to capture the way dreams jump and bend and when you try to explain them it’s meaningless to anyone else
yes exactly thats the feel of this movie. Like you watching your own dream it starts to make sense then it doesn't then it does again
I totally agree
Have you ever been dreaming and realized it? Then thought you were awake, but were just in another more realistic dream? That shit is trippy. As someone who regularly has lucid dreams, that's one thing that throws me off. I can normally recognize that I'm dreaming, but sometimes, they get way too realistic. I've even had moments where I was explaining the weird dream to someone, and they were responding back like a normal person, then I woke up for real. It feels like some inception shit. 😂
@@dominicgalloway4481 This has happened to me oodles of times. I used to keep a dream journal and write my dreams down. The funny thing was when I had those kind of dreams you’re talking about, sometimes I’d write my dream down in my dream then wake up and realized what happened lmao
@@dominicgalloway4481 knowing your dreaming then waking up still in the dream and thinking your out is a crazy experience, especially if it happens multiple times in 1 dream, i once had that happen like 3 times in a row and i kept thinking i finally wole up only to be dreaming again

I read this comment before I got to that part & I busted out laughing when he said Kyle after calling him Shawn 😂😂😂😂
Deflecting because he's in denial
I have watched so many of their shorts I laughed 5 mins straight after this scene 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You guys are so good at casual acting, crazy believable performances
I was thinking the same thing, the dialogue is so much better than most movies
Fucking phenomenal
Pretty close to beating the "Oh, hi Mark!" scene, ngl
Exactly! I was thinking how believable the entirety of the interactions were. Not one of them can across as 'acting'. Unbelievable work
@@anatolydyatlov963 Not at all xD
Dudes...please, please, please keep doing this. This is by far one of the best horror shorts I have ever seen. Can't describe how excited I would be to see a feature length horror production of yours.
Completely agree. I've been watching shorts for a while. This has to be top 2 if not number 1. The chair was very good also. But this had me captivated. Several time I found myself saying damb this is really good. Please give us more. This was great and worth producing more from the same minds.

Holy shit. The way that woman in the kitchen was moving at 17:31 is legitimately one of the scariest things I've ever seen. For the love of god, please keep making films!!!
Thank you!
Bit of a nod to Pulse/Kairo, that walk.
@@robertpavey5615 I definitely think that was a nod too, they nailed the delivery, very unnerving!
Her names haley fitzgerald, she plays the female friend. She’s actually a professional dancer. I absolutely love her!
@@cantthinkofanamebrb5132 Thanks for the info, the lady from pulse/kairo, which I believe Influenced the slow walk scene, was also a dancer, a ballet dancer specifically so the ability to look creepy while walking must be a dancer thing 🤣
Man the detail of adding a white light in almost every scene, detailing that he's in limbo and very likely in a coma.
15:23 the second he said "death" and his friends shifted like that? That was so well done and freaky as f*ck 😮👏
this was amazing, i love psychological horror. it’s like getting a glimpse into someone’s nightmare
Or someone else's psychosis. I was beginning to think that the Shawn character had either schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder.
@@Zidbitsthats exactly what i thought at first but later i concluded its death acceptence
There's just no better story immersion than getting into a single characters head for 20 minutes straight, much less a full 90 minute movie that can get into years of a person's life/situation and make you really live that person's life
The trunk scene is something straight out of my nightmare as a kid. I can't begin to tell you how it made me feel.
It would crazy if the accident involved his trunk being wide open after the impact/collision with gore everywhere. Like how a single part of a memory will stick with you when you are traumatized. Like you’ll remember the trunk being open after an accident because your eyes saw it when you were experiencing all this trauma. Like I remember the pizza I have my dad before he had his stroke when I was a teenager.
Thanks for the warning lol
Love how it's in broad daylight adds to the eerieness. I would love if more movies just moved away from the darkness abit
@@Transport4ThatDumpTruck EXAAAAACTLY! With that said, I have two movies to recommend that have daylight scares.
1) Terrified (2017), Argentinian movie
2) Post Mortem (2020), Hungarian movie
Both have daylight scenes that are just horrible in a good way.
@supahmariostyle damn wish I could give recommendations too thx you enjoy the day/night man
Came for the comedy, am here for the horror. These guys are fucking amazing. I can't wait to watch them grow.
Solid performances. I love the part when she's on the phone with Joseph and she's smiling but the music is still ominous. Really puts you in the main character's headspace - everyone's acting normal while he's going through this nightmare.
The Jumping trunk and the slowly closing door scene that he can't seem to stop are very original. The whole car jumped. You get a like and a subscribe for that alone...lol. The plot is pretty dop and the acting was great as well.
This and The Chair is 100 times better then anything ive seen on netflix for the past 10 years! Keep it up guys this is awesome horror
absolutely, and did you notice 8:58 is the same place, where "THE CHAIR" was kept?!?!
@@samyansari2328 No I didnt but I did take a closer look and you might be right! 😮
I agree. The Chair was also brilliant. Both films are on another level. Looking forward to seeing more.
Those 2 & Aunt Mable & Mama Agnes for some reason.
Omg the chair was phenomenal but I think this might be even better
This is better done than 99% of the random college films I bump into online. Been going through your catalog on here, and honestly - you guys make some great videos, keep up the great work.
I love how you nailed the dream, that was exactly like a dream
My man could have literally added like 15 min of background info in the beginning, 15 min to the rising tension, and then 15 min to the climax/ ending… then released it independently as a full length feature, and would be in the running for best horror movie of 2024, if not the top 5. Top notch, hope this catapults you guys past your goals. RELEASE MORE OF THESE AS A SERIES AT LEAST! and cash the fuck IN! 🤙🏻
The scene where he drove home with the noises coming from the trunk made me the most terrified in a long while. I think the reason for that was that it happened in broad daylight. It was a peaceful, beautiful morning in the neighborhood. Place and time where we would feel the most safe and the least suspecting of anything sinister.
And then THIS happening truly felt like he's nowhere safe.
I just stumbled upon these shorts and now am binging them all. This is SO well done and had me feeling like I was truly losing my mind. Outstanding writing, acting, music and musical cues, editing, pacing, and just the overall sense of dread, fear and panic. Absolutely terrifying and brilliantly executed. A full-length film has to be in Curry Barker’s near-future and with these amazingly talented and compelling actors. Some of the finest CZcams original content I have ever seen.
I agree 💯.
Absolutely agree I also randomly stumbled upon these shorts and watching all of them loving every minute
great film and storytelling ! from what i’ve gathered of the story, shawn was supposed to die in the accident he was talking about in the beginning but because he didn’t, that led to the actions of him going to the party the next day and killing someone, presumably Kyle, driving drunk from the party; him evading death led to the following consequences death cycled back to shawn by him killing himself due to the guilt of killing Kyle; this could help explain the dream scene in which Kendall is asking about enemies (kyle) the snapshot represents the moment of impact and the man that Kendall is punching at the end seems to have facial hair so I’m assuming it’s different from the other characters and that this man is Kyle and shawn is screaming helplessly as he is watching Kyle die; At the end he kills himself and it reveals a cycle of him trying to prevent the cycle from continuing by leaving notes which should explain the I’m begging you to stop note and don’t drive your car but in the end he realizes that he is unable to escape the cycle; his friends Kendall and the girl are personifications of death and the afterlife and he is trying to explain in the notes that these are not his actual friends in reality which is why he can’t “trust them;” and the man knocking after the accident could either represent shawn actually trying to get help for Kyle and no one answers, prolonging aid to Kyle or shawn trying to unconsciously save himself from the cycle because he knows that he will kill himself in the end and is trying to get him to come outside and get help
Found your comment on TikTok about your theory and I’m glad I came back to read it! Your explanation seems to make a lot sense with the story and I can actually understand the film with this theory in mind
🤯
I totally didn't take it that way at all. I simply thought this was an elevated way to tell a story about someone with DID. Kyle is Sean. That's why his friend asked who he was talking to. "Which personality is this?" When everyone else switches over, it's actually Klye/Sean switching over and you see the world the way that personality sees.
How did you work all that out! I hadn't a clue! Clearly you're brainy and I'm not.🙄I'm going to watch it again
@@NoFilterHuhOoh that makes sense
Can't wait for you to make your first feature length film. I love your horror shorts and I think you have so much to give to the genre! Keep up the spooky shit!
Also, in the scene of Regan walking across the room near the end of the movie, was that sequence inspired at all from the original Japanese horror movie Pulse?
U can wait
They need a damn show. I’ve never donated to anything. But I want to donate to them to help fund them
The creative increase to the Rewatch value is the GOAT.
It's honestly on the level of the bigs like Nolan and Hensen.
This is talent. This is definitely talent!
Donnie Darko vibes....love it!
I was thinking this
it's fitting that the #1 video youtube recommends after watching this is "The Chair". Both are unsettling in a similar way. Awesome job, everyone involved!
Im sure you guys know this but this is exactly whats missing from the genre of horror. This is horror. This is what its about. god tier short fillms. Please do more
The part where the sythe comes to kill him and the gun just shows up out of no where really sent shivers man.
I am fascinated by that door closing scene! Would love to see some behind-the-scenes for your stuff; very clever film making in these shorts!
This needs to win an award. Award-winning right here. I had to comment 2x it was so awesome. And I've seen thousands of short horror films.
Out of all of the horror shorts I've seen on CZcams, this one's probably one of, if not the best one.
Actual better acting then most movies today.
Bizarre, unsettling, intriguing, brilliant, and straight-up beautiful. I love passion projects like this that have so much genuine heart. This story was nurtured to maturity with so much care, and it shows from beginning to end. There's an art to doing horror well. This is it.
I’ve seen so many horror shorts and this one was by far the best. I’d love to see a full length movie by you guys ❤
I love your minds man especially barkers acting. Yall are both great at acting and writing. The door scene is great. The car scene gives goosebumps!! And the weird dream scene. I especially like the voices coming from the other room just to find a female and male friends and not the two male voices and how it was clearly his friends voice. You guys are good at just thinking about what things would all the sudden be creepy as hell if they were taken out of context and had no explanation. Anything can be so scary when it’s unexplained and out of context.
please make more, this is by far the best psychological horror short film i’ve ever seen. the acting was incredible, the score and the shots
These skits and short films never cease to amaze me, hope to see a full movie eventually. You guys rock
Absolutely loved it, need a full-length film asap
I just put this on casually, not expecting much of anything, wasn't familiar with your work. To say i'm blown away is a colossal understatement. That was one of the best horrors i've seen in a very long time. And the way it evokes mental health issues, what it feels like to be paranoid...night terrors... and that walk at the end, my god. Unreal
Wow! I am thoroughly impressed! "To whom am I speaking?" Grammatically correct use of "whom." Bravo.
Thank you so much for actually telling a story that draws us in, makes us focus, makes us think, and then exhale at the end with a smile. Wonderful job.
I see you on tiktok all the time and you're so funny so I watched this expecting a note of that to come through but DAMN nope, just one of the best horror shorts I've seen in forever. No funny business. Amazing work, truly. Do more please!
I don’t comment on CZcams usually, but this is by far the best horror short on CZcams. The scene where the friend is throwing up and the girl comforting him turns around to reveal the creepy mask for the first time… genuinely brilliant. The way it caught me off guard was insane. It’s played off casually (obviously it Halloween) but that made it even more unsettling. I was tense, confused, nervous, curious, all in the best way dude. Great work. I cannot wait to see what else you do with the genre. Outstanding.
Dude, this was insane. I’m very curious and definitely going to watch again. I’m pretty amazed at how good this was. Moments like the “your mom’s name is Harriet” note, the sounds coming from his trunk, the photo from the dream being on his table, the sudden change of personality in his friends, and even more all just do SUCH a good job at freaking you the hell out. The performances were phenomenal as well, the dialogue and acting are all so believable. Everything here is fantastic and you should be very proud. I just need some answers🤣
Absolutely love these short films, the feverish horror is incredible. I love things that just feel like a horrible fever dream given actual structure
these videos show an insanely good response to fear that isn't often replicated in media, the banging on the trunk and the refusal to even look, internally hyping himself up to check. This shit is phenomenal, keep it it lads.
gives a STANDING OVATION. BRAVO. We NEED more people like you to give horror a fresh face. WONDERFUL story!
These horror shorts are better than most horror films and also other shorts. Bravo, guys!! Thank you for such awesome content! ☺️
this is so good all your short horror films have my mind reeling trying to figure out what is going on- you’re great at getting watchers into the headspace of the main character. keeping us just as confused and wanting to understand what’s going on as the main character is.
You seriously have so much potential. Both this and Enigma were so amazing. Keep up the great work!
this short hit so hard, if the movie was made compulsory in driving schools, nobody would drive drunk and kill people senselessly anymore
Dude. I absolutely love you guys. And I’ve been religiously watching all your shorts/reels for so long. I have no idea how I’m just now deciding to look to see if you have longer content and I’m so happy to find this stuff. Excellent work.
This was absolutely incredible. The acting, the mood, the suspense and creep factor of just WTF is going on here... You guys did a job so well I watched this twice! Bravo, seriously, bravo!
I’m speechless, literally, jaw dropped but nothing is coming out. It took me a few seconds to compose myself to think of what I just watched and what to say about it. This is by far one of the best Horror Shorts I have ever seen. Just wow! Incredible!
This is absolutely incredible, mind bending and terrifying, this and The Chair are by far my favorite horror short films out there
this is genuinely some of the best horror ive ever seen. good work
Jesus you guys are talented. How are you producing content this fast, this well made!? Im a totally horror critic....some of the concepts you have used in this are better than 90% of the big budget shit you get out of the industry. Cuz ya'll are funny, I cant help but expecting a laugh but genuinely making good ambiguous uncanny horror takes talent and you guys did it. This is a masterpiece.
They have a decent camera. They have decent sound equipment and Lastly They figured out how to use "Their House" as the location with some driving around the street here and there.
They made a Good script and story.
I'm taking notes Because few months back I wanted to make a horror or psychological Short and just do it At the house we were In on vacation.
But realized you really need Full control of Surroundings and ppl like Having a Cast (Even a couple People )
Alot comes together in editing too.
But yeah... I have a 2 year old daughter and she wasn't gonna let me Even begin to Shoot something
Some of us like to write our bits months to years before. I have an entire comp book filled, enough for at least 3 years, some already recorded
The amount of times I got actual goosebumps... please keep these coming. Psychological masterpieces
First of all. Acting is great, 10/10. Let's just get that out of the way right now. The people here felt like real people. Not like someone held them hostage and told them to act. 3 minutes in, I hit the like button before I even finished the movie.
Despite being a horror short, this one in particular did an impressive job of making me unsettled, then laugh, and then back to being scared again. The dream sequence was spot on, and the AI joke gave me a good chuckle. The ending left me with some questions, but all signs are pointing to he's dead and stuck in a loop. There's also some intentional/unintentional symbolism. Like the door closing and him being unable to stop it just spoke to me. I could see this being a Twilight Zone episode; definitely TV show-quality writing.
I have been watching your shorts for weeks now, but i just started watching your longer videos ( the chair, enigma, and this one) and i have to say, i am so impressed with your acting ability and emotion portrayal. You are so good at directing too. most of your videos have little things in the background to notice as well. And you are so creative, never copying other common tropes. I would absolutely LOVE to see any genre of movie that was written, directed, or acted in by Curry Barker!
Pls Keep Creating for those of us see, love, and support your work
Keep making these, please. All your short films have been fantastic
Wow. Just wow!!! One of the best horror shorts I've seen in a long time. And I binge watch these!! The acting was awesome!! Who are these actors and why are they not on the big screen??!! Everything about this video is perfect!!!!
That was one of the most chilling shorts I've ever seen! Great work guys. Loved that slow uncanny walk. I've only ever seen that in pulse(2001) before.
Okay... this is one that I really can't figure out. Did he actually die but he doesn't think he did? At the end he starts over with the same "I had a near death experience" conversation. Is that his ghost? Is he in limbo? He keeps reliving the same thing over and over and that's where the "I'm begging you to stop" note came from because he's tired of reliving it.
It's ridiculous how complicated they made this
I think so. I think kyle is him. i think he is leaving himself notes to try to help him to pass on. And his friends arent his friends, theyre death and trying to help him move on
@@Taymarie78 If he's leaving himself notes to help pass on and his "friends" are death who ALSO want him to pass why did one of the notes say "dont trust your friends"?
@@Xenomorphasized Nah. Kyle is the version of him that is fighting and refuses to accept. When he realizes he's dead, then I think he becomes Kyle. I guess it's sort of a.. you are you sort of, but not really.
This. Was more terrifying than any horror film I've watched in a while. This was a horrifying masterpiece
The chills and creep factor are top notch. Better than most feature length, big studio horror productions . You guys are insanely talented at building skin crawling suspense. All actors are very skilled at their craft as well. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve next.
It's definitely left me wondering: did he die and didn't realize? : did he actually get hit [when he thought he cheated death] and sustain a head injury that left him not knowing who he actually was ? Either way left me with the creeps !
I realized half way through that my jaw was unironically dropped because this was so good.
This was INCREDIBLE you guys are just getting better & better, Never stop making art.
Now that's really original and intense. Really awesome acting, really awesome surreal scenes, really keeps you guessing (and maybe I was a little dumb to forget about the intro scene almost immediately, focusing on the mystery of the notes, pretty much like the main character).
I can't stress enough how well made, acted and written these short films are. I'm loving them more then our modern horror movies, maybe it's even better that there are no corporate companies involved, just people with a love & talent for film.
Guys… that was unbelievable. The world needs to know about your creativity, your versatility, and what they are missing out on. I’m showing this to my acting teacher on Wednesday. Holy crap… never give up. You have something special.
NEVER STOP. Please. 🖤
You really have a knack for visualizing nightmare themes. Like not being able to stop a front door that's closing itself... original and super creepy.
No way dude....hand written??! 👀
This was EPIC. FOR REAL. Great work.

This is by far one of the best and most creative short horror films I’ve ever seen, absolutely horrifying at every turn and not super obvious which is great
The acting so good no one’s posting the “deeper meaning” comment!😭😭 you guys got a hit
That was SO COOOOOOL I got mad chills during the ending and the story itself is so neat how it falls into place. Also laughed a ton during the dream sequence with the "origin" bit, but overall it had this super amazing intense horror vibe with a lot of very interesting and intriguing scenes. Reminded me of silent hill in terms of sound design in some parts which I really liked. Awesome short
But HOW did it fall into place? I’m so lost. I’ve been trying to put it together for hours. What did the chick say at 16:25 after she said “we should take him back”? He didn’t die, but his Death friend did? Then she’s back on board with him dying? And who’s holding the gun? The guy who took the picture was actually him, trying to get a picture so he could tell himself not to trust his friend? But the Death guy gets up and…beats him to death?
@@fieryhotwarts I'm way too high to reply to this comment but this is my favorite comment

Delicious some scary stuff you're uploading wow congratulations for this quality material
I love how unnerving this is. Your horrors are top notch!
I have to admit I did not grasp the story fully this time, maybe someone can help?
So the main character writes the letters to himself in order to stop one from drunk driving. The problem is he already did that and killed someone in the process.
So what we see is him going thru guilt limbo or just having nightmares and relieving events in horrific way? Why does he have 2 names: Sean/Kyle, does he experience split personality and that's why he lives 2 lives at the same time/does not remmeber writing to himself?
I think the first part is more on key... Maybe he died and he doesn't think he did... So he's starting from the beginning over and over to try to wake himself up?
I missed the drunk driving thing completely. Lol im more confused than ever lol
@@Uzumaki_Barrage_ Sure but what's up with two names? Any idea about that? I feel like I missed something...
I think he has Dissociative Identity disorder AND is in guilt limbo after death, leading to the co fusion and terror we see from his perspective. Only one personality committed this drunk driving manslaughter and he’s unaware of it. The “we have to tell him” bit is I think death itself arguing in whether or not to inform him of why he’s being tormented, since it was really only one personality that did it. That’s why they are depicted as grim reapers later I think.
Your films are astoundingly good. You have an excellent knack for blending horror and humor.
that short has so many horror references it's amazing!
Dude. What an absolute banger! The sound design is stellar, the acting was down to earth and realistic, and I really thought I had the story pegged (oh it’s a metaphor for drunk driving) but it got CRAZIER THAN THAT

Thank you. Thank you for this. It's been a few days since I've had a good nightmare. Can't wait to wake up sweating tonight.
OK--I love scary videos, movies, etc., and can usually figure out what's going on before the end of story. Not this time. The scene in his dream where he is screaming and blood is coming out of his mouth scared the hell out of me---it was his expressions that just put the "icing on the cake" And the woman walking through the kitchen---EEeeegads! (who even says 'eegads' anymore?) Intelligent storyline, compelling plot, excellent acting--pulled me right in. I rarely, if ever, rave over independent videos--although I'll always comment but this time I'm just in love with your movie -making skills! Keep up the great work!
Great cinematography, and the dialogue is better than most movies. The acting was great. Very professional overall. Love the ambiguity.
Honestly well done. With my short attention span in this day and age, I barely blinked. 👏
I think you guys could legitimately have an acting career
