@Lewis Upton The Welsh language sounds very similar to Breton which is a language spoken in Brittany in the northwest of France in a county called Brittany. Lovely song by the way.

Aaron, Wales is the greatest place on earth and being Welsh is unbelievably the most wonderful part about it. If you’re Welsh you have the one thing that money cannot buy and it’s extremely hard to understand if you are not from Wales and thats Hiraeth. A longing a yearning to be, every time you hear the music of virtually any Welsh song it raises a stirring in your gut a lump in your throat and a sense of want a need to be all things magnificently Welsh! 🏴🏴🏴 ❤
What a belter of a song - sadly probably lost to the Ukrainian contingent there but ironically apt for them too , considering their struggle, yet they too are "Still Here"! Very emotional and rousing song - and i'm Irish!! Love it!
I don't think it was lost on the Ukrainians. I was born in Los Angeles but all four of my grandparents lived through civil wars before coming here, and I could tell what the song was about. My grandparents wanted the French out of Mexico, and Franco out of Spain. Without knowing a word of Welsh, and without living through a war in my country, I understood it. I know the Ukrainian people understand it.
This makes me proud to be Welsh and I'm not even Welsh! 😊 Greetings to all Welsh fans from a Croatian, good luck in the Euro 2024 playoffs, hope you'll qualify and join the party in Germany!
Its hard not see how Football goes beyond sport. And how important for the world is The World Cup. The world cup should not be in that hands of a corrupt group.
As the previous comment said, it means “we’re still here”, I’m not a fluent welsh speaker, but I believe the lines before it are “despite everyone and everything, we’re still here”.
Its a Nationalist song about how Welsh people, our culture and languge are still here despite everyone that tried to get rid of us [mostly English] and that we will always be here until Judgement day. The song includes History from the formation of Wales to the Invasion of the Anglo-Saxons [English] and it leads up to Thatcher closing the Coal mines.

That sure stirs up your blood. You cannot beat the Welsh at singing. Listening to them singing their National Anthem gives you goose bumps.
