I'm a badminton beginner, I've been playing for 1 year, however I don't train with the coach because there's no possibility for that. I'm simply learning to play during games and at home I watch videos on how to play, etc... However, I always had trouble making a good shot and I come to the conclusion that I use my shoulder a lot (I'm going to get the strength of the shot from my shoulder In fact, I even have pain in my shoulder now) but congratulations for the explanation, it clears up a lot of my doubts! Like for video bdw! ❤

My swing problem is that I use too much shoulder power and it is not switched to the elbow unless I aim my elbow to the forward. Otherwise my elbow stays at the back.
So if I conciously think, I aim my elbow (it takes some seconds) and then throw the racket. My coach said it is too late (because of the aiming). How do you think my problem is..? Is there any idea how to fix it? Any advice available? I am stuck in this problem at this moment. Please help me..!!

Interesting, I've watched a couple of tutorials on CZcams, when it comes to impact smashes, (according to full swing CZcams channel) a racket should swing / bounce back if it's a good impact smash. I'm not sure as to which is right, so it would be great if @@AylexBadmintonAcademy could give a better insight on this matter. Regardless, keep up the good work.

You usually only bounce back if you’re out of position and don’t have enough room to transfer momentum. But for proper basic form you should always try to follow through.

@@AylexBadmintonAcademy I see, I will try implementing it from my next game. The clarification is much appreciated.

How do I increase my smash power ->

The purpose of racket bounce back is more for body balance, not bounced backed by the bird, even lin dan sometimes does that. czcams.com/video/LBfzevc6pI0/video.htmlsi=slPFPI3n91Q5BqqM @15second, momota does it too😅
