There's a woman that's onstage...not because of her gender, not because of politics, and not because of any quota, but because she god damn deserves to be up there. True respect.
I'm a big Lzzy Hale & Halestorm fan but hats off to Eric Church for bringing her out on stage with him. Look at Eric's face when Lzzy starts to rock it out, he can barely contain himself....he's in aw and having a blast and that is what it's all about. I have a lot of respect for that guy.
I agree. Having her out there with him was pretty gutsy at the CMA’s! I don't like Country that much, but I gained respect for him as a musician and singer both for bringing her & just playing music and having fun. I don't watch awards shows of any kind so I'm not surprised I missed this. The reason I don't watch awards shows is I simply don't give a shit about anyone else's opinions. If I like it, I listen. If I don't like it, I don't listen.
And check out Nicole Kidman’s face in the crowd as she turns to her buddy most likely to ask ‘who’s that stunning young lady with Eric....’ Okay Nicole we hope you have stacks of time on your hands because, boy, have we got some things to tell you about this rock goddess....
i love how everyone that year at the CMAs brought rap artists and he said i''m gonna bring the hottest metal chick in the world and kick their asses lol
Depends on your definition of metal and rock, 86frezer. If you're only counting bands like Slayer and King Diamond, she's not. If you're including Evanescence, In This Moment and Arch Enemy, she's right there with the rest of them. You can look up "List of Female Heavy Metal Singers" and she's on there and, totally more metal than many of the other entries. Rock is Pat Benatar and Pink. Lzzy is Metal.
Yeah ... b/c there's so many. I like Lzzy, but let's face it, she's been around awhile and she's still not known by many. We don't hear her on the radio and we don't see her in videos unless we go out and look for her. Not saying she didn't do a great job, but doesn't really sound much different than the chick who sings the same parts on his CD.
How Pink is rock ? She's pop and r'n'b. Agree with Pat Benatar. Lzzy recently seems to be heavily influenced by Joan Jett, who's coming from the rock and punk background. She even copied her hairstyle. I don't really care about all these stupid lists with female or male metal singers. Most of the time they're completely wrong. Don't get me wrong, I really like Halestorm, even got a ticket to one of their upcoming shows, but Lzzy and Halestorm are hard rock. It's all about sound, she's got great pipes and everything, but her band Halestorm isn't metal and never was. Evanescence, In This Moment, Arch Enemy got heavier, typical for metal sound even though Evanescence is the softest one from all of them, being more into melodic, gothic metal
Eric already knew Lzzy was going to sing him under the table. That's a conscious decision for the point of the song. There aren't too many people that can put out more power in their voice than Lzzy. So realize this was completely calculated and purposefully done. Both are great, from their own genres. Enjoy the performance for what it is!
I remember watching this on tv during the awards.... My 4 year old jumped up and played the air guitar.... He said daddy shes really pretty. He now has a halestorm poster on his wall.... Rock on Lzzy
I don't understand all the hate from Halestorm fans against Eric Church. I don't understand the people bashing Eric Church. He took a big chance bringing her out there in front of an audience that may not have been ready for her, knowing also that she was a powerhouse voice and very likely going to steal his thunder entirely. For her, she just blew away millions of people who had never heard of her and never would have without his introduction. Classy and fearless move by him, paid off in spades and a fucking brilliant performance on her part.
Lzzy Hale can literally do no wrong. I'm so glad people are finally recognizing her from this show! I saw Halestorm in Chattanooga last July and they were AHmazing. Eric did fine but he's not rock n' roll. Lzzy Hale is damn rock n' roll.
Contrary to popular belief Eric was as Rock and roll as it gets I'm from his hometown and remember well the old balls to the wall Eric but he sold out to country music because it was an easy path to making money. So sad :(
downsouthboy321 That's makes literally no sense whatsoever. First off, how the hell do you "sell out" to a genre? Secondly, that's bullshit, it's no easier to be a country artist than it is to be an artist in any other genre.
TheMisanthropist69 Are you literally that stupid or are you just trolling? Selling out means he turned his back on the music he loves to play music he hates to make money. If you would possibly take the time to research what you are talking about before you start telling others they are senseless, you would already know that his father has big money and big connections in Country music and the recording industry. He didn't get where he is on just his talent or go through the the route that other musicians had to suffer through.
keenyn lee-haines No you're the one that has less sense than hockey puck. Why don't you ask Eric? I'm not some dipchit like you just speculating and calling it fact. I actually grew up with him. I also know (and he does too) three singers from right here that are far better performers than Eric will ever be but they nor their families had the influence or the money to hire PR people a troupe of studio musicians and sound engineers, song writers, voice coaches or rent a studio for 3 months just to cut a demo tape at least three times a year.
To the people that bash Church, be grateful that he can put away his ego and allow someone else to shine, because he sure as hell doesn't have to. He has helped Lzzy get out to a new audience. I've got a friend who builds custom guitars fairly cheap, if you are interested I could get you in contact with him. he built the guitar in my profile pic under $500
If you like 70s to 00's rock she has some great cover albums that show off her range. She also has a cover of Girl Crush by Little big town that she did for Sirius FM radio it's great.
Lzzy and Halestorm are legit. This is Eric's song and he's a huge cross genre guy and is a huge Lzzy fan. I love them both. Lzzy gives me goosebumps when she hits the high notes. They are both artists, real ones and i respect them both for that.
Cole Angrimson This is a cool song, but Eric's voice just ruined it. Sorry. When he's singing songs closer to country, he does good. His voice just sounds like crap in this. And, honestly, her voice doesn't sound good with his, at all. I love Lzzy. I love Halestorm. I used to think she could make ANYTHING amazing...but, maybe I was wrong. There's absolutely NOTHING she can do to help this mess lol. Suggestion....give this song to Travis Tritt. He's the KING of Country/Rock. Bet Travis could turn this into something good and respectable.
Eric Church called her the best vocalist alive. Halestorm also opened a show for him on his last tour. He even played one of their songs on his radio show that is on a country station on XM. Maybe you Halestorm fans should know who is supporting your band before bashing them.
Not all Halestorm fans (Stormers) bash other artists or country artists some of us know great music when we hear it dont put us all in the same category
Stormers.... I thought we were Freaks? EDIT: I agree with what you said though. There isn't one greater genre. There is only good and bad (which is subjective) and both can be found in every genres.
I've seen Halestorm live 3 times in a span of like 8 years. I am an avid rock and metal fan, particularly when it comes to female vocalist. And no band of any kind since my introduction to rock and roll as a kid in middle school has blown my mind with the sheer talent and progression of their sound than Halestorm. That woman can fucking sing, rough edge to get you off your feet or a beautiful sound that can make you pull out a lighter (or cell phone) and get lost in her lovely voice.
All these people trashing on Church saying he has no talent and that she stole the show, guess what he knew she was taking it away and let her, Church could easily have stolen it back, but he just let her ride away with it and he loved every second of it. Both extremely talented people knowing true music, love them both!!
I'm not a big fan of country, but I am of Eric Church! You earned my respect bringing out one of the strongest female voices of metal ever! They both kicked ass! Rock n roll!
"It ain't a middle finger on a tee shirt the establishments trying to sell, it's the man with the balls telling the establishment to go to hell." Couldn't have said it any better, that's what music lacks today. THATS DAMN ROCK N' ROLL
Hats off to Eric Church for letting us enjoy her as much as he did nine years later, and I still watch this at least once a month, Now THAT DAMN ROCK ‘N’ ROLL👊🏻❤️😎
Lzzy Hale and Eric Church absolutely rocked this song together. They are both equally awesome in their genres. It doesn't happen often when you put two great artists from different fields together on one song and it ends up bringing out even more emotion than the original did. AWESOME JOB LZZY and ERIC...AWESOME
I've watched/listened to this video many, many times. I absolutely love it. I understand that people who don't like country, will not like this.....BUT, as a girl who typically only listens to country.....I can honestly say I am now a fan of Lzzy Hale and her band Halestorm!! She freaking kills it!! For all you people who say she out shines Eric Church...ummm...HELL YES she does!!! But, he clearly knows it and is in awe of her and has MUTUAL respect as an artist!! That was the freaking point! It doesn't take anything away from his obvious talent. All the haters on here clearly shouldn't be listening to this type of music. Go hate somewhere else! This song makes me happy. I was always a background Eric Church fan, but now he is definitely sitting right in front!!
I totally get it. I've been die hard country all my life. Then I heard Halestorm. That was the band that got me into rock and metal. Since hearing them, I've seen them once in concert with In This Moment and New Year's Day, and now I love rock as well.
I literally get goosebumps every time I hear this song when Lzzy comes in. Visceral, in your face, intense and cuts to your soul. I could listen to her sing this song all day long. So rare anymore to see people like her absolutely KILL IT live. I cannot use enough adjectives to describe this performance. I think I'm in love ;)
It's a shame some people have to pick people apart. He and her done a great performance...Together. ....she has her style and he has his.....and it worked.... together. Why can't some just enjoy the music and relax.
I could watch this video over and over! Lizzy Hale rocks and this was in my opinion was one of her finest performances. Lizzy totally rocked this, she is a class act, a hard working musician and song writer that shows respect for her audience and the music scene. That's certainly Damn Rock n Roll!
I've been saying for years how amazing Lzzy is!! Halestorm puts on the best live shows out there these days. Totally raw and real. I'm glad Lzzy is finally getting the recognition she deserves... I just hope Halestorm does too with their new album.
+Kord Douglas Please stop commenting on everything, Eric is good but Lzzy is definitely the better singer and she overpowered him, that's all people are saying, people know it is eric's song and stuff calm down please
+Emma Dierkers I'm not sure you can really rank their voices because the styles are so different. I think this performance was particularly electric because a) who would have even thought these two would get together to do it? You wouldn't think the metal and country worlds would have any overlap at all! and b) Eric didn't try to metal up his vocals and Lzzy didn't try to country up hers. They both did what they do side by side and the juxtaposition was just freakin' amazing! :-)
That moment when all the comments piss you off because you love both genres and people equally. It's like people need labels to survive. No, Its called good music and shitty music.
Lzzy tore that shit up last night. Surprised to see her on a CMT stage but then again. Country aint really county anymore. Thank for a video that was worth watching. Put it in my favs.
Eric Church is one of the greatest country singers of all time. He can kill it with only a guitar. Hale is also ridiculously talented. She outshines him on rock, as that's her genre. He probably asked her to join because he hates fake autotune bullshit "musicians". Hale is fantastic live. It's all about respect people. I love pure artists! Mind blowing
One of the best duets in a long time. My favorite female rocker with my current favorite country star, amazing! Lzzy Hale is rocketing to the top, get to know her if you havnt and I know you'll love her, she is the most true n pure rocker chick we have been dying for since Joan Jett, Pat Benatar Lita Ford, Heart and Vixen but with a new , rawer attitude. She stole the stage and stole the entire show, they both did. I hope they release a studio version of this.
I fucking love her and would give my left nutt for her. Been a fan since I saw them at a small place in Philadelphia before they got signed, been there all the way and so excited and happy that she has become a fast growing rock star.
I had never heard of Lizzy Hale or Halestorm before watching this. I have followed and loved Eric Church since he started out and he is the bomb, but those two together are a awesome!
Yeah, I thought she was just a girl with a huge chip on her shoulder. I guess if you're angry all the time at the world, just yell it out. Pitty the guy who has to deal with her. I'll bet her privates are bigger than his.
i'm old...love classic rock...prob every song has some memory...got to meet Lzzy at Temple Live Ft Smith...breath of fresh air for Rock and Roll...she is just amazing...d/b av loved working ur show...what a talent!!!!
Yeah the fact this was the best performance of the whole night just shows there ain't no country anymore the only country singers worth listening to are Brantley gilbert and miranda lambert but this girl is way to good to be singing with Erich church she completely out Sang him
Have to agree.. This song is so far from country. Its basically rock n roll garbage. Dont get me wrong Lzzy has talent and is amazing, but shes a rock singer. Brantley is awesome, been a fan of his long before he became a name.
USMCKoontz Is that to say rock n roll music is garbage? That's a harsh statement. To me this sounds like some form of outlaw country with some distortion thrown in for good measure. (Not to mention Lizzy Hale's vocals, that girl kills it)
She out sang him because he can't sing. He's just another country "singer" who talks and sings with a 3 note range. It's everything that is wrong with country now. Know anybody who could sound anything like Ronnie Dunn? Luke Bryan or some other garbage could never come close to the past generations.
Kudos to Eric Church and the Country Music Awards for showcasing a talent as incredible as Lzzy Hale. I have seen her and her band live and to hear sing is mesmerizing.
Damn my respect for Eric Church went up big time watching this. He knew damn well Lzzy was going to blow this away and wanted her to get the exposure. Watch him when she first comes in. He never even looks at the crowd cause he wants to watch Lzzy sing. He knows the world needs to know this great talented woman exists!
I love the people who can only listen to one genre of music and bash all others, he’s got a lyrical talent that’s carried me through hard times, she’s got a voice that’ll blow the roof off of any stadium. I love their music separately and this one song between two amazing artists.
I know you made this comment a year ago but maybe you'll see this. You are absolutely right about that. My heart and soul belong to hard rock and metal but I also listen to country, hip hop, rap, r&b, jazz, and I constantly look for ANY music no matter what genre it is. Lzzy and Eric Church both have incredible talent!! For everyone who is hating on this amazing song, I don't believe Lzzy would appreciate it, bc she's better than that and she thought enough of him to have him do a duet with her song "I like it heavy" and it's amazing too!!
If any of you had half a brain you would realize that Eric Church is one of the biggest names in country and Lizzy is probably the best female voice in rock. This is an amazing combo from two very talented musicians. Stop spending time bashing on CZcams and get musically cultured. Good music isn't limited to one genre.
Release it as a single with her!! This as a live performance kicks ass, can only imagine it in a studio being enhanced. This is what music is all about! Rock it out, getting back to having fun with it. Love it
Lots of Halestorm fans bashing Eric in here but.... I attended this very show as a country music fan, huge Eric Church fan. However I left asking everyone "who was that rock chick singing with Eric? Voice gave me shivers!" Now 4 years later I will be attending my first Halestorm gig in Glasgow, UK on September 23rd and I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!
I'm seeing Halestorm this Friday, August 10th. I'm out of my mind in excitement! I'll let you know how it goes. Wait, we both already know it'll be great.
Oh hell yeah!!!!!! I'd love to hear from both of you about how amazing your experiences were seeing this phenomenal powerhouse of a woman doing her thing live and on stage!!!
Lizzy is amazing and so is Eric, you can see that both of them respect one another. Maybe the fans could take a lesson and show some respect to Both of those artists....they deserve it.
You'd think that Lzzy being at the CMT Music Awards stage would be incredibly strange. She just so awesome she pulls it off anywhere. lol Only reason I watch this video is because Lzzy is featured in it.
I love Eric Church, but Lzzy Hale stole the show! She made this song epic! The album version of this song is great, but this cut is a hundred times better. Eric Church is the epitome of modern southern rock. I'm glad to see the genre making a comeback. Great job Eric and Lzzy!!!
I love how this song takes a crap on most country music at the time and the establishment. And he performs it at the establishment and in front of people who he may or not be calling out. Long live Chief!
Lzzy / Halestorm fan here. Just fell across this video. Went back and listened to original version. Eric sure let Lzzy show herself with this song. Lzzy's voice has fire in it and makes me burn. Love the way she growls . Get back to So. Cal. Halestorm, we want to see you again. HOB Anahiem.
All you bashers do not have a real respect for music. If you did you would respect all genres! I love it all. The night this aired I have never been more excited. My country and my rock were joined on stage it was fucking amazing!
That last note is the most rock n roll note you'll ever hear. Havin a bad day? That will pick u right up. How is Lzzy still practically unknown around the world.?
Richard Hedrick That's damn rock & roll is easy for today's country artists since modern country music is not country & western but a mix of pop and rock. Mainstream modern country as well as mainstream modern rock is fucking stale, boring and just sucks. No wonder mainstream radio is filing for bankruptcy. There are much better rock, metal and real country & western artists that are on CZcams or anywhere else on the web than this mainstream shit. Funny thing is I found a blues musician, Samantha Fish, who does some country & western songs much more old school than this Eric Church dude and Samantha Fish blows the doors off of Lzzy Hale as a musician. Lzzy Hale can sing and I like most of Halestorm's music but I get a little bored of their stuff after I listen to their music. Halestorm is short term enjoyment only. Samantha Fish is a great all around vocalist who sings many styles and can play the guitar like Stevie Ray Vaughn and writes excellent music.
I never heard of Eric Church before but wow I love the admiration he shows towards her raw talent. He gave Lzzy this song for her to shine, she brought the dead crowd to life. Now THAT is class, to bring someone on stage that you know will out perform you. And after checking out some of his songs, I am now listening to country music (something I always said I would never do) lol
eric church is just good music, wouldnt put it in the modern country genre. i normally youtube to look for more live versions of songs i like and man lzzy absolutley was awesome!!! seeing EC smile when he realized how great of a decision he made to ask her to play it with him gives me mad respect for him and her for jamming out together
Kudos to Eric for doing this song with Lzzy. She totally rocked it with him. This particular video it the best I've heard and it blows away the version on the album. I wish his album had Lzzy on it. Hopefully they do some more together in the future. I have all of Halestorm's album's even the first... Amazing to listen to their first album and then the 2nd. It actually got me to listen to Eric's other music and now I have some of his. I'm sure this was a great concert. Rock on. Both of you.
My comment may have been confusing. I am a fan of Halestorm's and this video got me top listen to Eric Church. They need to post the audio of this to Spotify. The comment on Halestorm's first and 2nd albums was referring to how amazing their improvement was between those two albums.
country music is my favorite! ! its lost its way in the last decade or so but Eric church has saved IT ( in my opinion) without him its just " Dam Rock-n-Roll!!!
There are VERY few people out there (man or woman) that can put that kind of power into their voice. She is one of the greatest live vocalists out there. Definitely deserves more credit than she gets. Eric Church knew she would sing him under the table. Awesome show.
Anyone else get goosebumps everytime Lzzy starts singing? What a voice.
I'm very familiar with Dorothy. She's unreal. Just amazing.
Listen to Heres to Us by halestorm

No!
I love it when Kidman leans over to her friend and asks, "Who is that?" You're about to find out sweet heart!
She knows now
She won't forget it after THAT
Lzzy Unleashed the Beast at 2:24 and Kidman went to the restroom to change her panties...
Like a silent bomb, Lzzy just blew everyone away! Nicole was left in the dust. NOW she knows who Lzzy is and won't forget anytime soon 🤣
THAT'S DAMN ROCKIN ROLL!!!!

well said...
AMEN
TheMrMused agreed
TheMrMused no kidding, it's a recorded record that sounds exactly like that. Trolls that think Eric Church was shocked at how good she was. So stupid
I remember watching this on tv during the awards.... My 4 year old jumped up and played the air guitar.... He said daddy shes really pretty. He now has a halestorm poster on his wall.... Rock on Lzzy

Tre B i can see this song being played while Denaries is burning the Lanister army in season 7 episode 4
How have I never heard of Lizzy Hale?! That girl's got some soul and some pipes! Her & Church were a great combination to sing a song like this
Sung Yul Taylor Just look up Halestorm. Anything Lzzy Hale sings is Amazing!
I agree
His voice just sounds
like crap in this. And, honestly, her voice doesn't sound good with his,
at all.
I love Lzzy. I love Halestorm. I used to think she could make ANYTHING
amazing...but, maybe I was wrong. There's absolutely NOTHING she can do
to help this mess lol.
Suggestion....give this song to Travis Tritt. He's the KING of
Country/Rock. Bet Travis could turn this into something good and
respectable.
Cole Angrimson Lizzy is ligit, but the rest of the band sucks balls. She is the Jim Morrison of this generation.
Stephen Cochran
You must not know much about music...lol. They are ALL talented as hell.
"Lzzy" (
Cole Angrimson same feelings
High notes? The thing i love most about her voice is the edgy sound and the screams!
You can tell he's legitimately impressed with Lzzy.
Lzzy Hale is soo under rated!!!!
She is getting more famous. I think.
That she is, she's so damn great that she deserves to be known world wide and more
amen brother!
best hard rock voice in the biz right now - she's perfect!
Mark Cox That she is
Eric Church called her the best vocalist alive. Halestorm also opened a show for him on his last tour. He even played one of their songs on his radio show that is on a country station on XM. Maybe you Halestorm fans should know who is supporting your band before bashing them.
I love both Halestorm and Eric Church
Not all of us Halestorms are ignorant....I know great music when I hear it. This was awesome!!
Not all Halestorm fans (Stormers) bash other artists or country artists some of us know great music when we hear it dont put us all in the same category
wqreswtcvsdtgug fdhygdseygilrw wqwtsdvyvuvn vendors for refresh updates q bgdr
Stormers.... I thought we were Freaks?
EDIT: I agree with what you said though. There isn't one greater genre. There is only good and bad (which is subjective) and both can be found in every genres.
Call it country, call it rock, or call it what it is....badass. Good song and performance by both.
Holy...crap. Who.... IS... Lzzy Hale....?!? SHE IS FRICKEN AWESOME!!! Definitely Rock n Roll. I love Eric Church...what a combo....!!!!!!
She's the chick who won the grammy last year for best rock song.
When the MOMENT is more important than the ego. Run with it Lzzy, Eric was himself in aww. Always enjoy the ride with moments like this.
Now I want to go to Halestorm's concerts even more. She fucking rocks!
All these people trashing on Church saying he has no talent and that she stole the show, guess what he knew she was taking it away and let her, Church could easily have stolen it back, but he just let her ride away with it and he loved every second of it. Both extremely talented people knowing true music, love them both!!
Lzzy is one of those rare talents that can transcend genre. I love it when Halestorm flips songs.
Damn...that girl has some pipes....she out sang Eric !!!
Somebody come pick my jaw up off the floor. Gotta love a Lzzy Hale/ Eric Church duo. That was damn rock and roll
One of the best performances ever. They both rock and respect each other. What's not to love?
Hats off to Eric Church for letting us enjoy her as much as he did nine years later, and I still watch this at least once a month, Now THAT DAMN ROCK ‘N’ ROLL👊🏻❤️😎
It's so amazing to see how far Lzzy has come and is still going in the past years omg I admire her forever :)
1:11 Lzzy starts warming up to unleash the beast at 2:24 Lzzy has a power house voice.
lzzy is possibly the best female vocalist in rock today
Lzzy Hale made me forget what to comment.
It's a shame some people have to pick people apart. He and her done a great performance...Together. ....she has her style and he has his.....and it worked.... together. Why can't some just enjoy the music and relax.
Thanks Kord.
+Bella Wright Also fuck yes!
I say it once and I'll say it again, Lzzy's voice scares me! And I'll be even more scared when I see her in January in Arkansas! I love this girl!
I could watch this video over and over! Lizzy Hale rocks and this was in my opinion was one of her finest performances. Lizzy totally rocked this, she is a class act, a hard working musician and song writer that shows respect for her audience and the music scene. That's certainly Damn Rock n Roll!
Crowd didnt know what the hell hit em. She rocked tht shit
I've been saying for years how amazing Lzzy is!! Halestorm puts on the best live shows out there these days. Totally raw and real. I'm glad Lzzy is finally getting the recognition she deserves... I just hope Halestorm does too with their new album.
Lizzy stole it and sold it.
+Kord Douglas Please stop commenting on everything, Eric is good but Lzzy is definitely the better singer and she overpowered him, that's all people are saying, people know it is eric's song and stuff calm down please
+billnye69 Amen. That woman is amazing.
Kord Douglas Anyone can tell you what to do but you can also tell them to go fuck themselves afterwards. :-P
+billnye69 fuck yeah!
Good God Lzzy has real razors in her voice! She's just amazing I love her! ❤️❤️❤️
If Lzzy Hale put out a country album, I would listen to it.
Definitely, no matter what Lzzy puts out i will listen to
I would too she's a total Rock Star
5500somerandomdude To be honest, she could sing the alphabet and i would listen to it!
5500somerandomdude I would pay to hear her sing the happy birthday song.
Lizzy Hale is not country. Pure rock n roll with that one 😉 yes she sang a country song, but she made it all rock n roll and totally owned it!
That moment when all the comments piss you off because you love both genres and people equally. It's like people need labels to survive. No, Its called good music and shitty music.
+Madalynn Mason Fuck yes!
+Madalynn Mason I'm a fan of both of them. The younger people in the crowd totally "got it". Their performance ROCKED!
agreed!
+Madalynn Mason Hell yea, love them both (sad to say I just found out that they had done a collaboration)!
I might have disagreed at some point but 1:40 had about the perfect mix of at least 3 genres and good music trumps all.
Lzzy tore that shit up last night. Surprised to see her on a CMT stage but then again. Country aint really county anymore. Thank for a video that was worth watching. Put it in my favs.
This is an all-time classic performance.
she just out sung every body there
Eric Church is one of the greatest country singers of all time.
Damn shes hot i like that one
I fucking love her and would give my left nutt for her. Been a fan since I saw them at a small place in Philadelphia before they got signed, been there all the way and so excited and happy that she has become a fast growing rock star.
There is a studio version it's on Church's album "The Outsiders"
Not nearly as good though, she doesnt have the true rocker vibe and attitude that is Lzzy Hale
I had never heard of Lizzy Hale or Halestorm before watching this. I have followed and loved Eric Church since he started out and he is the bomb, but those two together are a awesome!
lizzy Hale is a legend of Rock and Metal :) \m/
I'm look for where you said Country...yep...ain't there.
I like the song, but it ain't Country.
E M. This guy's song is kinda the typical cliché singer for midlife crisis mom's, who want to get wet again.
I have a new respect for Eric he sang with one of the most bad ass women I have ever seen.
I swear to God... I almost cried when I heard this... I felt it like I haven't felt it in YEARS. Ms. Hale is incredible... wow!
had goosbumps each time he stopped singing and she took over. UNREAL
MarkThomasMusic o
Tom Guntlqi
Holy Crap! That girl can belt it out!!! Love Love LOVE this performance!!
Best part is seeing how impressed Eric is with her. So awesome.
No only that, but but her voice is just so powerful it rose over his!
Carolina Chocolate Drops are good.
Kudos to Eric Church and the Country Music Awards for showcasing a talent as incredible as Lzzy Hale. I have seen her and her band live and to hear sing is mesmerizing.
Lzzy came out and murdered it. Props to Eric for bringing her out.
Damn my respect for Eric Church went up big time watching this. He knew damn well Lzzy was going to blow this away and wanted her to get the exposure. Watch him when she first comes in. He never even looks at the crowd cause he wants to watch Lzzy sing. He knows the world needs to know this great talented woman exists!
eric church is the real deal
f the haters
+Ian Muller Hahaha Musically cultured Eric Church lmfao
His voice is shit.
Ian Muller badass 👏
Best voice period, not just female in rock.
Listen to he cover Ride the Lightning and tell me that she isn't outgoing anyone else out there.
Country needed a jump start and Eric Church brought it back!
i dont cry often... but seeing lzzy at shindig brought a tear to my eye i must admit.. those long drawn out notes give me chills..
Release it as a single with her!! This as a live performance kicks ass, can only imagine it in a studio being enhanced. This is what music is all about! Rock it out, getting back to having fun with it. Love it
Amen to that statement. Shes absolutely amazing 😊
Prime Chief + Prime Lzzy.
10 years later and I still listen to this version regularly
That is the queen of rock and roll. Hands down.
Lots of Halestorm fans bashing Eric in here but.... I attended this very show as a country music fan, huge Eric Church fan. However I left asking everyone "who was that rock chick singing with Eric? Voice gave me shivers!"
Now 4 years later I will be attending my first Halestorm gig in Glasgow, UK on September 23rd and I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!
Eric CHURCH & Lizzy ROCKED the Paint OFF the wall that night! This Mega performance is one in a BILLION!
TypeO SHOULD HAVE SPELLED LZZY my bad
My fav eric church song 💯💯💯💯🔥🔥💙
I really wish they would release this version of the song!
NOW THIS IS A SONG THAT I HAVE LIVED MY LIFE THROUGH, 💯💯💯💯
I didn't know Eric Church before this but what a great collaboration here! Always loved Lzzy, Eric has a new fan!
I love how this song takes a crap on most country music at the time and the establishment. And he performs it at the establishment and in front of people who he may or not be calling out. Long live Chief!
Lzzy Hale is so freaking hot
Lzzy / Halestorm fan here. Just fell across this video. Went back and listened to original version.
Eric sure let Lzzy show herself with this song.
Lzzy's voice has fire in it and makes me burn. Love the way she growls .
Get back to So. Cal. Halestorm, we want to see you again. HOB Anahiem.
That showing country hows it done. ROCK ON LZZY HALE.
God this performance is still incredible 🤘🏻🤩
HOLY HELL !!! Lzzy Hale just owned that , and I'm huge Eric Church fan !!! i'm going to have to give her group Halestrom a look for sure....
+Tn&fl She Stole My Heart96 then you haven't heard a lot of music lol
I just said that they don't rock harder than anyone else wtf, i'm not a hater, how I'm gonna hate someone i didn't even listen to?
+Elisha Candler You bet they did!
All you bashers do not have a real respect for music. If you did you would respect all genres! I love it all. The night this aired I have never been more excited. My country and my rock were joined on stage it was fucking amazing!
Almost 4 years later, and this video still doesn't get old. Lzzy Hale is the queen.
That last note is the most rock n roll note you'll ever hear. Havin a bad day? That will pick u right up.
How is Lzzy still practically unknown around the world.?
Lzzy comes up to mic and they all like WTF and by the end its a standing O....Great Music is hard to find....This, is it!!!!
No they're not. They're clearly cheering for her from the beginning.
Hasn’t been a performance since that compares..
@@midnight-2021 - what are you?.. her fucking publicist? You know that old saying about opinions and assholes don't you?
Eric Church will sal more albums thank George im afraid. Proud to have the opportunity to let my son listen to both. Pure Genius fellas!
I think my favorite part was when Nicole Kidman leaned over to as the other person who the woman on stage was xD bet she knows now xDD
Kidman started quivering at 1:11 and at 2:24 she had to excuse herself to go change her panties (and have a cigarette). LOL
Lzzy is unreal. Talent . Prodigy. The best
country music is my favorite! ! its lost its way in the last decade or so but Eric church has saved IT ( in my opinion) without him its just " Dam Rock-n-Roll!!!
There are VERY few people out there (man or woman) that can put that kind of power into their voice. She is one of the greatest live vocalists out there. Definitely deserves more credit than she gets. Eric Church knew she would sing him under the table. Awesome show.
Lzzy hale the legend
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! I've seen it a dozen times and it never gets old! Lizzy Hale stole the show! #istillgetgoosebumps
Lzzy blows him out of the water! LOVE HER
Lzzy Hale is rock and roll
