2024 anyone????
Me
Me
Yup
Never heard her before today and now in a binge! Phenomenal!
it's still her best video
Lindsey Stirling was six years old when she began begging for violin lessons. She began getting 15 minute lessons, which no one thought she could learn from, but she mastered it. It was all their family could afford. Much longer later, she joined a rock band and began experimenting with different types of music, and began earning money for collage by performing. Later, she performed in America's Got Talent, but didn't do very well. But she wouldn't give up. Then, Lindsey was introduced to Devin Graham, who kick-stared her career. Lindsey quoted, ''He changed my life. He taught me everything I needed to know about CZcams.'' It was a while later when Lindsey realized that she was suffering from anorexia, an eating disorder, sometimes very deadly. She noticed that something was wrong with her, and she was becoming very depressed. Finally, she found help and recovered from it. This video is about her suffering of anorexia, and how she had to turn back from her life of being a perfect ballerina. It was hard and scary, but she finally broke through the glass by doing what she loved to do: Playing violin. And on the other side of that glass that she had suffocated her self in for too long, she found what she had been looking for. A whole new world. She finally found happiness. Cheers to you, Lindsey. If you really read through all of that, thanks. Wow this is a long comment.
zoe copenhaver that's such an inspirational story☺️
thats very a wonderful story about Lindsey :D
zoe copenhaver thanks for sharing this
zoe copenhaver Wasn't the eating disorder during college before her music career? I though she had already overcome that when she started to work with Devin.
_wow this is a long comment_
Lyrics:
I pirouette in the dark
I see the stars through a mirror
Tired mechanical heart
Beats 'til the song disappears
Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
Shatter me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
If only the clockwork could speak
I wouldn't be so alone
We burn every magnet and spring
And spiral into the unknown
Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
Shatter me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly
There's no one to catch me if I take a dive
I'm scared of changing, the days stay the same
The world is spinning, but only in gray
If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly
There's no one to catch me if I take a dive
I'm scared of changing, the days stay the same
The world is spinning, but only in gray
Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
Shatter me
Somebody make me feel alive and shatter me
Thank you for the lyrics! 😁
You're the hero of the day 🥰🔥🏆
Thanks
wow that’s awesome. Thank you.
what pirouette mean?
As a male, this song hits close to my heart. It’s a powerful and emotional collaboration between Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale, two amazing artists who have overcome their own struggles and fears. The song is about breaking free from the constraints that hold us back, whether they are internal or external, and finding our true selves.
The music video is stunning and captivating. It shows Lindsey as a ballerina trapped inside a snow globe, representing her feelings of isolation and helplessness. She dances with grace and passion, but she can’t escape her prison. Lzzy is the voice of her inner strength, urging her to shatter the glass that separates her from the world. She sings with a raw and powerful voice that contrasts with Lindsey’s delicate violin.
The song has a beautiful melody that builds up to an explosive chorus. The violin and the guitar blend together perfectly, creating a dynamic and energetic sound that matches the lyrics. The song also has some dubstep elements that add to the intensity and drama of the story.
The song is more than just a catchy tune. It’s a message of hope and courage for anyone who feels trapped or broken by their circumstances. It’s an anthem for those who want to shatter their limits and live their dreams. It’s an inspiration for those who want to feel alive.
I love this song so much that I can’t stop listening to it. It makes me feel empowered and motivated to overcome my own fears and challenges. It makes me appreciate the talent and resilience of Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale, who have both faced adversity in their lives but never gave up on their passion for music.
This song deserves more recognition and praise for its artistic quality and emotional impact. It’s one of the best songs I’ve ever heard in my life. #ShatterMe #LindseyStirling #LzzyHale #BestSongEver #MusicIsLife
Agreed wholeheartedly. This is one of the most underrated songs I've ever heard.
Couldn't have said that better worded perfectly ! I also love it have listened to it and reviews of it as well her voice is jus chill bumps for daysssdss with so much emotion
What makes this song even better is that we KNOW the artists conquer their struggles. Yes, they might have to fight them again, but both girls won. They won and are brave enough to share their battles with us so we too can find the strength to battle our own demons. Thank you Lindsay and Lizzy. Keep being awesome.

I swear the sound of her violin feels to me like the sounds of galaxies dancing, or atoms singing.
If atoms sung

There is definitely something magical about her playing. I get chills during that note right after shatter me

after listening to this song i looked at my violin .
My violin: "don't even think about it!."
me: tries to hit the note*
my sore throat: Shut up
LOL the song made me want to play the violin but then I thought if I try this I will fail
😂😂😂
I love playing violin it is so much fun to play violin
3:am screaming at the top of my longs
This has got to be one of my top favorite songs by Lindsey, if not THE top. And Lzzy is freaking insanely amazing with her vocals... Always. Her range is mind-blowing just in this piece alone. But the grit and push when she sings "Shatter me" & then again in the bridge gives me goosebumps every single time I put this song on... Which is a lot. These two need to do some more collabs bc they compliment one another so perfectly.
I completely agree. This is also one of my favorites.
100% with you on the compliments. This song has long been a favorite for my kids and me and my sister and her kids discovered it independently. It's just amazing.
That said, not sure they should regularly collab--part of Lindsey's talent and artistic integrity is developing her works organically from start to finish. Yeah, she uses her contacts, but it's about what fits the piece. I trust that if she develops another track that's good for Lzzy's vocals, Lindsey would make the right call.
2024 we are here.

Yes I am. I love her music so much.
It's unbelivabe what someone can do with a Violine.
Me
I really freaking love the symbolism in this video.
I don’t know if this is the main intention, but the way I see it is that the ballerina represents someone who is in an abusive or unhealthy situation. She desperately wants to be free, but the glass is keeping her in; she knows breaking it will set her free, but has also been convinced that it will keep her safe, so she stays.
When she sees the bat, I believe she’s realizing how this situation has affected her perception of the outside world. And at the end she finally does break free, which takes a lot of courage, because sometimes it’s easier to stay in what you know, even when you know it is unhealthy.
Idk why I felt like commenting this lol
as far as my own interpretation goes this music video is connected to the Lost Girls video from her. If you haven't heard/watched it yet, you should check it out

@@yuki_alternateuniverse9617 But Lost Girls came after Shatter Me. But yes, it is the same snow globe, and at least one of the scenes from this video was reused.
This was my situation exactly and this song was my anthem until my divorce two years ago.
It still brings me joy, strength, and hope to listen to this. And it's crazy since I'm in a healthy, happy relationship now.

I met Lzzy about 13 years ago after her set. I was blown away and asked if she had a vocal coach. She said YES and gave me his info! She was super friendly
Lzzy hale has a voice that expresses so much emotion... It really brings out the heartful melody of the violin
People thought dubstep on a violin was impossible, back in the day people thought turning heat into motion was impossible, but in the end, it only took a Stirling
Turning heat into motion? Surely they carnot do that!

@@noobjitsu1743 YES
Not only is the music amazing, but the concept is visually stunning. Like when it shatters around her face and she breaks the "facade". Best part visually in my opinion.
I just saw Lindsey in concert and it was INCREDIBLE. There's actually such a deep story behind this:
Lindsey struggled with body image and anorexia for years... She constantly was trying to be perfect and was killing herself inside but tried to appear content (the porcelain ballerina). She realized that perfection was suffocating her and she'd have to break out, even if it meant cracking through years of work for perfection, in order to be happy and free.(:
:O very motivational
I just saw her in concert too. It was so amazing. She is such an amazing person
Where'd you see her?
Where'd you see her?
***** me or the op?
When literally almost nobody in the comments knows who Lzzy Hale is
Halestorm obviously
Jesi Carvalho I saw them in concert this summer :')
Kyle Damon That is awesome but I can't go to concerts they're to far so my mom and dad won't let me.😢
Kyle Damon I have all of the Halestorm CDs (because why not) I got so pumped when I heard two of my favorite artists would collaborate for a song!! End result is heavenly
Kyle Damon No I do not know but the amazing voice she has though 😍
Everytime I watch this I catch more and more details. I absolutely love how it goes from the ballerina being content only to see something beautiful and tries, too early, too soon, and in the wrong way, to get there. And how she wakes up the second time, the way her head shakes like she's not ready. And the bat showing it might be scary out here, but as the butterfly, shows it's still beautiful despite the fear. How the ballerina uses her own strength (the violin) to escape, despite how it appears the cracking in her skin is painful and terrifying. How her stance changes from the static perfect pose to something more dynamic. The moment she hesitates, hand to her cheek, as if she thinks she can go back to the safety that is killing her... And deciding to shatter instead, showing a less than perfect person underneath but free. Dancing as she wants to. And finally seeing the outside world as it is
who's still listening in 2024?
Meeeeeeeee
Lindsey, seriously are you a godess or something cause man those violin skills are boss

Playing violin is not that easy. You need to have a true enthusiasm for it and a creative mind. I have been learning to play violin since 2014 but I am yet to create good melodies. Every time I listen to Lindsey's tracks, I feel how amazingly good she is!
Thank you, Holli. I appreciate your kind help.
I completely agree. I've been playing violin for five years through school, I've come nowhere close to be half this. You just need to keep at it, and practice does in fact make perfect. (even if I don't do it nearly as much as I should)
+Maya Djurisic : you are right. practice and practice, that's all I need now !
Yea, I'm in our schools we have Lessons as a group, and in our concert we only got through 1 song. And it was like the easiest song EVER!

One of most powerful songs i ever heard! Violin 🎻 is her weapon and he used it to touch my soul!
2024 checking in if that is indeed the correct year of time space
I started playing the violin a year ago. I had been wanting to start playing ever since I first heard this song. The violin wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, and I struggled with many things (such as getting my bow straight, intonation, timing, and many other things), but I didn’t want to quit. I kept listening to Lindsey Stirling’s songs to give me motivation, so that I wouldn’t even think about stopping. The only way people can achieve great things is if they work for it.
Currently, I am in the Honors Orchestra at my school. That is the highest orchestra you can be in- and just as I thought when I first started- it wasn’t going to be easy.
Just two months ago, I was really having a hard time with orchestra. My grade was lowering, and I didn’t even feel like playing. The transition between beginner orchestra and Honors orchestra was a HUGE ONE. I felt like I was lower than the rest of my classmates because they had more playing experience than I did.
...then I found this song again. After listening to this, I felt that spark of motivation I had when I started. I knew I had to push myself and go past my limits to be like everyone else.
I know that this sounds like a pretty fake story, but it’s 100% real. In a month, my orchestra is going to head to a few other schools to play.
Either way, I really enjoy this song and it left a huge impact on my heart. Thank you, Lindsey!
❤️

Ye
Anthony Vincent I definitely think they should do another song together!
Never stop believing in the power of prayer folks. It took the prayers of millions of millions for the universe to deliver her to us; to show us the impossibly possible.
Coming back over 5 years and realized lzzy has an uncanny resemblance to Fran Drescher! 😍
Protect Lindsey at all costs. This woman is a national treasure.
Yes

I remember listening to this as a child. I often listened to it with my sister, we barely have any contact now and remembering the sweet old times make me listen to it again.

Lindsey, I don't know if you will read this, but I just wanted to tell you that this song gave me so much hope when I was going through my eating disorder 6 years ago. I used to listen to this song on repeat because it described exactly how I felt and made me feel understood. Six years later, I am fully recovered and I still cry when I hear this song. Little did I know that this song was about your eating disorder too. I can't believe I found out just yesterday. I love you so much Lindsey. You are my favourite artist and this is my favourite song

Still breaking out of glass ceiling thought patterns from my upbringing.. Some abuse is more insidious simply because of it's subtlety. I love the part where the butterfly goes past and then you realize that it's actually a bat. I feel like there are subtle forms of abuse of religion or abuse of parental power that can create such confusion. When you look at it in one moment you think it's lovely and beautiful and then as you stare at it longer you realize that it's not, that it's an illusion created to keep you quiet. And then she goes up to punch and crack the glass and stops herself. I really relate to that because anytime I try to break out of some of that fear (i.e. fear of God, fear of love withdrawal) I feel afraid that I'm bad and giving in to anger and that it's not true and that I need to believe the lovely perfectionistic ideas. Then I feel depressed because I know that I'm suppressing the truth and that I actually feel trapped. It is a difficult task to shatter the denial and coping patterns built in childhood to protect you when you were defenseless. As an adult you can break free but it means getting in touch with what was too painful to face as a child. Subtle abuse, not letting you have a voice as a child, it brings up such frightening feelings of rage and pain! We want to stay in the bubble at first... But trusting you can still survive outside is the truth. Breaking free.. One hit, one conscious act, one shifted paradigm at a time.... It's a process.
TL;DR? I demand one.
+LadyLullaby INFJ First off, well said. It's a common theme in Anime but not really brought into the mainstream of western media, and when it is it's usually misinterpreted or un-recognised. It is as you say the subtle abuse that gets overlooked and often lacking understanding. Tbh, and I'm not 100% as to why but this song always reminds me of Aigis from Persona 3. I know I'm trailing off but wanted to say well said. Edit; said eastern when meant western
Stuart Haram Thanks so much!
+Stuart Haram Ok you mention subtle abuse, now what if is self abuse, that happens ,let's say a millennia would that make if hard to break out of the repetiveness of self abuse, thus trying to shatter the past and living with regrets? Many of our problems and or situations can be of our own making,or design
True, and a fair point. It's fair to say the song has different meanings depending on the listener. It's always good to see all perspectives.
I played the violin for almost 7 years, and I got good. But this is crazy, even for a professional.
Practice DOES make perfect
+Akane Hyuga nobody can be perfect. But practice can help you sound better.
+catzrawesome77 to properly play the violin you need to strive for perfection
r1v3rgod You need to strive for it but you'll never get it, you might get close, but you won't get it.
+Jesse Kallins She has played her violin since she was 4/5 years old, and considering that she was born in 1986, so she has played her violin for like (over 20 years now!)
been listening to Lindsey & Lizzy for years and cannot get enough of them. Absolutely amazing.
me too....this song is going to stick with me for a long time!!
same same same!!
eu lembro que tinha 15 anos quando essa música lançou, agora com 23 ainda escuto demais ❤
Lzzy is a goddess!
When I first heard this, I was nearly thrown to the floor by the amount of emotion coming from Lindsey's violin and Lzzy's vocals. Thank you for making this song; it's beautiful.
I agree with so much
Gigantor 2341 calm down it’s not THAT good
Carlos I would disagree. I love the emotion and energy she puts in her music
