It's crazy to think Cam is the first crew member to leave the podcast in it's 7 year existence... just goes to show it truly is a family. It's very rare for the entire company to cry when you leave your job. You are so loved Cam. You will be deeply missed.

Cam is such a sweet soul. The way he looks at these animals with tears in his eyes. Its rare to see a man get emotional about animals and I love that cam is so gentle and caring for these animals, even the tarantula, he was looking at it so caringly. Cam, you are a treasure.
And I am such a softie for animals as well which is why I appreciate when others care as much as I do. I love every animal, even the weird ones like rats and opossums.
I think the reason he was crying is because it was so touching to him that they put together such a wonderful and personal thing just for him. It’s the biggest anxiety relief for people who you hope love you to really show it. 🥲

As a biologist, I cried a little during the animal segment. To see the crew's love and appreciation for all the different critters just warmed my heart! Cam is so interested and truly respects the animals so much, and in my opinion that's an indicator for what an amazing person Cam really is ❤ I'm gonna miss this sweet guy being on the pod :')
A small moment of Cam that I absoluetly love is when they were debating Jesse Lee Peterson and Peterson was showing off his Trump figurines. Cam just popping in for a split second saying "look" and showing an action figure and a bunny had me in tears. It was so wholesome and perfectly timed. I'll miss Cam so much. this was my first cry of 2024. i used to see cam occasionally feeding the squirrels when i was walking to class at usc, i never said hi but it always brightened my day. as a new england transplant myself, i know how hard it is to move across the country and totally understand why you'd want to move back. thank you for all the good times, wishing you the best in your future endeavors ❤️❤️❤️

As an environmental biology major it’s so heartwarming seeing Cam bring his love for nature and animals and life into the podcast. He will be dearly missed ❤
Also in illinois anyways they sell ferrets at pet stores and I know many people who have them as pets! They’re super chaotic and playful, and get depressed when they don’t have another ferret friend to live with. And i have two chinchillas, one of them being albino. They are amazing animals!

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but as someone who studies biology, do you happen to know if that frog is the one that absorbes things from the skin? I sometimes Maya Higa and Alveus videos and l know that they handle Georgie (a very similar frog) with gloves because it could absorbe hand cream and make up from people's skin. So I was a bit concerned when the frog was handled and passed around like that tbh lol

I have a very emotionally involved day job but I often have to compartmentalize to preserve myself. But music and movies usually are a way to release just all the shit that I’m carrying. But today this helped a lot in being out not only the sadness that I have for Cam leaving, but also all the other sadness I have from interacting with some of the cases at my hospital.
