Only thing they can’t buy is a real fanbase. If they were ever able to average 50K+ fans in that stadium they’d be considered but Houston SDSU BYU Gonzaga should all be added first

I grew up in Vegas in the 90’s, went to unlv football camps in hs when there football facility was just one massive storage building and an open field, played a few games at Sam Boyd in hs when it was old crappy turf, remember playing pickup basketball games in the old dank gyms next to the Thomas & Mack before Cox pavilion.
It’s incredible to see how far their facilities have come.

As UNLV alum, I really hope this gets the football program to top tier in the future. Spending a lot of money of development and now we have a new stadium.

UNLV has a deep history of poor recruiting that they've worked hard to improve on over the last 5 years; It's a tough sell to recruits, especially ones that have other options within the Mountain West. It's also been stepping-stone program. Coaches and staff come and go, often, as no great legacy of winning has been anchored for any significant period of time. This influx of money into facilities + playing at Allegiant Stadium should get them a better recruiting class and help erase the mediocre history of its post-Randall Cunningham and Icky Woods Big Sky/Big West era.

The University of Nevada, and UNLV have some of the lowest budgets in D1. UNLV has a much larger budget, yet is still usually worse. Poor coaching, poor management, poor players.

I’m an Oregon fan and actually like UNLV not just bc of Marcus but because I see them as an underdog team. Hopefully they get good. Also, didn’t mind seeing all the Oregon stuff;)

The athletes deserve it. They miss so much of their actual education for their sports. They’re not getting paid for the most part, so they should get the most accommodating experience as possible

Tour Coastal Carolina Football Facilities
THAT WOULD BE A GREAT MATCH UP = COASTAL @ UNLV AND COASTAL -35.5 = COASTAL COVERS $$$$$$
no hate or anything to my hometown, that's great and all but they better WIN SOMETHING and soon to justify all the decadence here. If those facilities and the vegas backdrop can't get recruits in and result in major wins moving forward then what's the point. Rebels have always had trouble drawing football fans mainly due to the poor records and heat but also there's 1,000 other things to do in Vegas and they've upped the ante in recent years with UFC embedding, plus 3 major sports franchises setting up shop - when they were the only 'big sporting event' going on people barely cared, now they've got big time options, hope the Rebs can keep up. It was kinda emotional seeing the UNLV field inside Allegiant Stadium - all this top shelf stuff was the things we were dreaming about back in the day.

Don’t follow UNLV football, but you would think with this type of facility the team would be somewhat decent. They didn’t win a single game in 2020. Damn! And haven’t had a winning record in like 8 years. I guess the best “legal” way to get top recruits is to have a nice facility lol

The facility is fire but it won't help much with their record. Many universities already have facilities like this if not better. Take a look at LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Penn State, etc. Even CU boulder has an innovative facility and they even struggle finding 4-star recruits. Nonetheless, wish them luck.
