I used to be so obsessed with animal jam for like 7 years when I first started in 2012, this game seriously shaped my life so much until everything just went up in flames as people started becoming more obsessed with the whole rare/beta economy. Eventually I quit once a bunch of my old friends stopped logging on. I would've loved to revisit the game for nostalgia but they ended up deleting my account for inactivity or something like that 🧍 Kind of nice to see that the game isn't completely dead but it feels bittersweet seeing how empty the servers are

The old Jambassadors are in their 20s rn it's insane. Apparently, sadly Lilac became kind of a toxic person to say the least. Aparri became a sound cloud rapper for a bit and did several other not so good things. Julian 2 just ended up quitting ever since AJHQ kicked him out of the Jambassador role and started to focus more on collage and sports, and Wisteria kinda got toxic within her own AJ discord server to say the least.Typicalrocky, Jurshy, and Sethyy/mymomiscool sold items for real life currency. Skorm also did it and was the first one of the other 3 to do so. Not fully sure about Bepper. But yea, it's really sad how toxic a lot of the Jambassadors we all grew up with didn't really become the best people.
Glad I never watched AJ just played the game completely free to play and farmed rares and betas through trading to build the perfect f2p winter den then I quit.
Being someone who grew up with animal jam..this made my inner child have a little rave party. And be happy 😁. No more anxiety
i used to be obsessed with this game, and watching animal jam CLASSIC videos makes me want to cry because of the memories i've had. i remember my account used to belong to my brother until he gave it to me, it had unlimited membership and such great things. my main animal was an emo arctic wolf (like most wannabe aj kids, lol) one day it got hacked and i just gave up. although, i really do want to play the classic again.

I started playing AJ back in August of 2012, I was also 9. Part of me feels like I’ve seen your username in Julian2’s videos when he used to post all the time LOL. I played from 2012-2017 roughly when I started highschool, but I would get on occasionally during seasons to get special items, etc. This past Christmas, all I kept talking about for months was how much I missed playing Animal Jam (since I moved out of my parents house and had no access to getting on for 3 years) and my husband got me a laptop for Christmas! Luckily, I was able to login to my old account with none of my items missing. I went hard on the game from Christmas to I wanna say March-ish. The game changes so much, but I made a really good friend who is now one of my best friends outside of Animal Jam. That’s the aspect I missed the most from it, meeting new people and making friends and memories for life. It’s cool to see other people get back on animal jam after years too, from what I learned since I’ve been back I’ve helped players that have done the same as me. Taken a few years off, and came back. I usually just hangout in the pillow room and watch the madness unfold 🤣

Samee, I started playing when I was 6 back in 2014 (i remember playing aj before learning how to spell lol) and just revisited after leaving for a good 3 yrs straight. Its like a time capsule of my childhood, soo bittersweet and full of memories. It definitely feels kinda empty since none of my old buddies play (esp since I’ve been too shy to talk to new ppl), but just trading, decorating and playing adventures or games is so weirdly satisfying and fun. Honestly, I’m mostly disappointed that no one seems to do family rps anymore. Like the pillow room used to be the adoption center, what happened to that lmao??

Never played Animal Jam but was OBSESSED with Neopets...and it was my life. Collecting RARE and highly expensive Paintbrushes to paint my pets. Now it is mostly adults playing who spent their childhood playing. Keep in mind I am now 35 and I started playing neopets in 7th grade in Middle school computer class with my friend lol.

I had so much rare stuff and was also obsessed with having all the rares, I had lots of cool stuff. I also got introduced to warrior cat roleplaying and that becomes my personality for YEARS. Dang, sad that it's not as popular but also surprised it's still around. I also got hacked and scammed so many times, I was so naive and stupid lol. I even scammed other people because I was just so annoyed. I stopped playing because like Denise said, everyone is so shallow. The mini games were a lot of fun though!
I have actually wanted to play again but unfortunately if your not active they delete your account, my sister wanted to play again(I gave her my old account) but it was gone, such a bummer. Oh well 🤷♀️

It's crazy how much of a chokehold this game had on me. I played religously since 2012 until they removed Flashplayer and my account got hacked after that huge data breach. It's not like it's a big deal since it's been so long since I've played, but for some reason when i think about how all my hard-earned rares and beta items i spent years collecting were just gone, makes me sick to my stomach. 10:46 really got me because it's so true. I wasted so much energy on mourning pixels I wish it didn't bother me even though i haven't touched the game now in years.
