As someone who owns a Friesian, I will say that the so called turd shape is actually pretty accurate lol. Friesians tend to have a very lengthy and evened-out torso, and in my opinion I think SSO did a great job incorporating it into the breed.
with the friesians the knees look like baloon animal legs that get folded AGAIN and the trot looks like it's sliding... and I don't like that they have the piaffe in the idle animation AGAIN... but everything else i love
I dont think people realize that hair making in games is one of the hardest things to do, most of the times individual hair strands look worse than the way it does in star stable. There is a reason why barely any games have this individual hair strand style, because it looks horrible and it's extremely taxing on the system, not to mention difficult to animate. No hate just saying as someone who graduated game art & animation college.

Star stable said when they first announced the new friesians that they were only going to use the friesian stud book as reference. And by the way, nothing about the gen 3 Jorvik friesian would be allowed in the stud book. Sorry if I sound rude, but it how it is.

The Jorvik friesian is a cross breed sso made up so they could put any coat they wanted on it, and to cover up the fact they botched the body conformation. The new Friesian, the REAL Friesian, as I said earlier, was done purely to the standards of the real Friesian stud book, so black and chestnut are the only colors allowed. Also, the only white marking allowed is a tiny star in the horse’s forehead, so no pintos either. So the only way we could get a “white” (gray) or buckskin friesian is if it were the non magical coat of a magic horse. Edit: there is a sub breed irl called the friesian sport horse that, as far as I know, looks exactly like a real Friesian minus the feathers and can be any coat color, including gray and Appaloosa.

I wish they would add dappling to them as I own a frizzy IRL and he’s got the cutest dapples and they never put that kind of look into the frizzies in games. I think that they think they are more solid but actually aren’t.

I think it’s just the mane and jump landing that bothers me but again the mane is kind of hard to do same with the breed itself and the jump landing idk what’s wrong with me but overall I don’t see why people give it so much hate
I was thinking earlier about how cool it would look for sso to add armor to the horses and with the medieval update they had lots of chances to... I'm not really happy with the way they made the knights' horse look... Its just the same exact thing as their typical bridle and saddle, with a bit of metal. I think they could've done better with it.. but I'm very thankful that they tried out this style, its a good start. I think they are trying to get us more engaged finally with more gameplay! For the first time in a while, I have no complaints about the gaits or model, the gaits are amazing and I adore all of the gaits! They move and actually look like real friesians, super excited for this horse!!
3:39 That is the issue with all horses unfortunately. It’s like they only animated the jump for canter/Gallop (not always Gallop) and because of that the animation ends early for fas gallop and makes it look like the horse slides down.
Definitely agree with the hair strand thing but SSo came out and said a while ago they can't animate singular strands because the amount of poly's would make the game unplayable on lower-end devices and would cause a lot of lag overall which I understand. I think in the future, as they continue to develop and push out older models and devices, we'll be able to see better hair mechanics but im not expecting anything out of that.

I think some people tend to forget that these are *Spoilers* the horses are not out yet. So of course the gaits, and movements arent gonna be perfect. I personally think they look amazing especially compared to the other ones. And if sso fixes some of the choppyness on some of the gaits they'd look even better.
It’s definitely an improvement over the other one but I still think the front legs look weird in a lot of animations. You didn’t like the back and I didn’t like the front lol. The body itself is pretty damn good though which is nice. I’m not really about them having the same hoof dancing in their idle animation as the Jorvik Friesians but eh. The dragons and medieval stuff is ON POINT

The back legs seem off, and the jump is poor. SSO needs to put some more love into the jump animation of ALL horses. Not just the ones known for jumping.
I love them I be getting two of them bc I don’t wanna spend all mine star coins on them but I do like three of the coat colors the liver chestnut and the light chestnut and the black with white spots on it I’m probably gonna get the light chestnut and the black with white spots on it tho
To be honest, I hope the animations will change a lot until next week. They look worse than the gen 3. the back is totally stiff (witch by the way is totally unhealthy in real life) and the gaits are supposed to look full of momentum but they simply dont. The horse doesnt shift its weight to its back end in the galopp piroette ( in real life you would destroy the horses joints with it) and the way it does the extended trot is unhealthy too. I‘d love star stable actually properly researching biodynamics of a horse for such movements. Not just to look at a video of a „grand prix“ horse.
Friesians are supposed to be majestic. Therefore the only way they might make a white friesian on this model is if it were the nonmagical coat of a magic horse.
@@KarRosi The gen 3 Arabian was released in 2021, the gen 3 pintabian was released in 2023, that’s two years later. And Just from what I’ve seen in the comments, I don’t think there’s much demand for “white” (gray) friesians/friesian sport horse, so I don’t think sso would do the sport horse anytime soon. It’s more likely for sso to make that color the non magical coat of a magic friesian. So yeah, “white” (gray) friesian is not impossible, but you may have to get a magic coat you may or may not want to get it someday.

I’m honestly disappointed with the new 3.5 fresians. I honestly think the gen 3 gaits moved significantly better, if you watch the comparison videos from 3 to 3.5 it’s glaringly obvious. Like the gen 3 walk/ trot with the body looks really nice, plus the head carriage on the gen 3 looks really nice. I’m really not liking the high/ unnatural head neck carriage of the 3.5 fresian, it doesn’t move with the body well all at. The only thing the 3.5 does well to me is the gallop, but other than that not really liking it. Like I love the sso tried to listen to feedback I guess, but to me the 3.5 gaits are not moving well from legs to body. Like if SSO just took the gen 3 and made adjustments such as a more realistic/regal face and eyes, fixed the hairstyles, and adjusted the face animations, this 3.5 could have been amazing. Like for me, I didn’t buy the Dutch warmblood or the selle Francis, because I don’t like unnatural high neck carriage looks. I bought like 4 Ardennes during that time instead, because I love chunky necks and natural head carriage looks. But I do love the new dragons and new medical tack that’s coming, but idk if I’m gonna get the new fresian, it’s just got even more problems than the gen 3. I also think the nose on the gen 3.5 straight on is a little weird too. I love that sso was trying here, but idk I just don’t like how it’s moving.

And Just from what I’ve seen in the comments, I don’t think there’s much demand for “white” (gray) friesians/friesian sport horse, so I don’t think sso would do the sport horse anytime soon. It’s more likely for sso to make that color the non magical coat of a magic friesian. So yeah, “white” (gray) friesian is not impossible, but you may have to get a magic coat you may or may not want to get it someday.
@@LilyM.C.Almondton I don't see any problem in that :). If they make a grey magic coat - that's o.k., if I have to wait or if there won't be any that's also o.k. What's all this fuss about? It's not a matter of life and death to buyor not to buy a horse on SSO :D!
The friesian is a gen 3 not a gen 3.5

I’m honestly disappointed with the new 3.5 fresians. I honestly think the gen 3 gaits moved significantly better, if you watch the comparison videos from 3 to 3.5 it’s glaringly obvious. Like the gen 3 walk/ trot with the body looks really nice, plus the head carriage on the gen 3 looks really nice. I’m really not liking the high/ unnatural head neck carriage of the 3.5 fresian, it doesn’t move with the body well all at. The only thing the 3.5 does well to me is the gallop, but other than that not really liking it. Like I love the sso tried to listen to feedback I guess, but to me the 3.5 gaits are not moving well from legs to body. Like if SSO just took the gen 3 and made adjustments such as a more realistic/regal face and eyes, fixed the hairstyles, and adjusted the face animations, this 3.5 could have been amazing. Like for me, I didn’t buy the Dutch warmblood or the selle Francis, because I don’t like unnatural high neck carriage looks. I bought like 4 Ardennes during that time instead, because I love chunky necks and natural head carriage looks. But I do love the new dragons and new medical tack that’s coming, but idk if I’m gonna get the new fresian, it’s just got even more problems than the gen 3. I also think the nose on the gen 3.5 straight on is a little weird too. I love that sso was trying here, but idk I just don’t like how it’s moving.
