    Hello, thank you for this very informative video on the G-Floor product! Do you think this would work as a shed flooring? I would need to cover a 10x12 area and really only have my push mower that I will be storing in the shed along with some sealed plastic bins.

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před rokem +1

      Hi Carlos. Yes, it would work very well. G-floor is commonly used for shed flooring and enclosed trailers.

  • @progression_decibel
    @progression_decibel Před 9 měsíci +1

    You mentioned about leaving very small gaps around the perimeter when laying the G-Floor around immovable objects. What if you plan to install G-flooring to cover a 20x20 garage completely and lay something like New Age, Husky, Gladiator storage cabinets and workspaces directly on top of the G-Floor for example, along one wall of your garage? Will the G-Floor ever buckle/warp in the vicinity of those cabinets?

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It generally is not a problem. Ideally, you want to move the heavy cabinets onto the flooring when it's relatively warm already. There is very little chance of the mat expanding much after that. If anything it will shrink slightly in cooler weather which will not result in buckling anywhere.

    Would you recommend this for kitchen flooring I like the look?

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před rokem

      You could, however, it would require gluing down the entire mat. You also need to consider the aesthetics where mats would butt joint together and create a seam.

    I have a 24' by 17' garage so I will have a seam the length of the garage. I have residential rack storage and a refrigerator along one long wall and nothing on the opposite long wall. If I allow for the expansion along the wall with nothing sitting on it with the rack storage and refer on the opposite long wall will I have a problem with expansion? Any ideas? I would like to run the G-floor wall to wall. The area is never in direct sunlight.
    Thanks Dan

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi Dan. You shouldn't have a problem with that. The key is to roll out the side with the storage racks and refrigerator when it's relatively warm if you can. Let it relax for two or three days and then move the racks and such on top. After that, roll out the other side and butt the mats together to see how they do. If they don't expand or contract much, you can run G-Floor seam tape underneath to keep them together. If if looks like you will need some room between the two for expansion and contraction, then the center trim strip works best for that.

  • @brianknight4997
    @brianknight4997 Před 6 měsíci

    Question is if you choose to glue it down do you still need the 1/2 gap for wall to wall install or does the glue stop the expansion and contraction?

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi Brian. The 1/2 gap is not as much a concern when gluing the entire mat to the floor. It is recommended to glue the mat during relatively warmer temperatures to take advantage of any expansion that may have already occurred.

    Thank you for this video. This is probably an unusual question, but, to your knowledge, could this material have any sort of reaction with rotomolded plastic kayaks if they were laid on top of it for storage? Thank you.

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 10 měsíci

      To our knowledge, it should not be an issue. Rotomolded plastic is typically polyethylene which generally does not react with with PVC mats.

    I’m considering installing your product in my enclosed trailer. How does this stand up against pallets sliding on it?

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi Mike. Just to avoid confusion, G-Floor mats are not our product. They are manufactured in the U.S. by Better Life Technologies and sold by various vendors, including G-Floor direct. The mats are very tough, but they are not going to last long if pallets are being slid back and forth on them on a consistent basis. Pallets are usually used for heavy items, they have sharp edges, splinters, and nails that will eventually damage the mats. If it's only occasional use of pallets, then you may be OK. We would recommend a coined design if that is the case. The diamond tread will have a tendency to catch on the pallet bottom.

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 5 měsíci

      The mat will prevent the drain from working properly since it would be covered. You will need to cut a hole in the mat so that any water it collects will be able to reach the drain.

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 11 měsíci

      Hey Mr. Shovelhead. G-Floor has actually conducted tests with various adhesives. The one they endorse for gluing their mats to concrete is Taylor Resolute - G-Floor to Concrete Adhesive. The home improvement centers only carry products for vinyl composite tile which does not work well for polyvinyl mats.

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 7 měsíci

      It does not come in sizes wider than 10'. However, you can custom order the length. You can run three 60' lengths connected via the center trim strip or six 30' lengths depending on the orientation of your space.

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hi Steve. It can be placed on top, but it cannot be adhered to the carpet in any way. You may experience creeping of the mat since the carpet surface will be more slippery compared to concrete.

    • @allgaragefloors

      Hello Dave. Rigid polypropylene (plastic) interlocking tiles can withstand temperatures down to approximately 0 degrees. Temperatures lower than that will make the plastic brittle.

    thanks for the review, I'm between the Garage mat and epoxy. what is your recommendation? :)

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 2 lety

      Garage mats are a quick and easy solution. It's one reason they are popular. A proper epoxy coating is definitely more work, but it does provide a decorative look and seals the concrete. In addition, stain protection is better and it shows dirt and debris less. It's worth the effort if you are up to it.

      I have the epoxy base and polyaspartic top coat on the vinyl flake, and then G-Floor on top. Trust me, you gonna ruin your floor if you park. Don't listen to the epoxy flooring guys if they tell you its okay to park and that it will last. I learned this the hard way. Now I had the flooring guys redo the flake and also use the clear ribbed gfloor on top so I can still the flake. Looks good and I treat the mat, instead of the expensive flaked epoxy floor as a sacrificial piece to be replaced every 5 years or so.

    Will tractor tires stain it like car tires?

    • @allgaragefloors
      @allgaragefloors  Před 9 měsíci

      That is a great question that we don't have the answer to. Car tires stain them due to the plasticizers that leach out. They are used to keep them soft and pliable for cold weather traction. We would guess that tractor tires use similar technology, but to what extent we can't say. We would recommend emailing G-Floor directly to ask.
