Very valuable effort having shown this to owners ! Thank you LM Auto Repairs !
Usually the root cause is the drain outlets at the back of the engine compartment (below the ventilation inlet beneath the windscreen. The pipes are supposed to drain rain water out into the front fenders.
When those drain outlets get clogged by dirt, leaves, and what else then in rainy weather (or car washing!) the water will overflow into the passenger compartment behind the floor mats until it reaches the area under the seat.. And this damages the cable connections and socket you illustrated. So if you have got a Scenic 2 that is still working properly
then a cood precaution is to spend some time cleaning up those drain outlet pipes. Flush them with. pressure water. It can save the car for years to come. Provided that you ever use it in rainy weather or wash it a lot !

Great video but scary for a novice like me!😉
Where did you get off wiring diagrams? What OBDII/ computer reader do you use? Could You do a video on how to use it?
Your obvious expertise made me realise how little chance there is for me to find what the actual problem is because I don't have any prior experience, I don't have any wiring diagrams and don't know where to source them, and I don't have a computer OBDII reader.
I saw a great video from a garage in Wales on how to remove the auto brake unit, open it up and source and replace the motor. I did this and the removed motor brushes were corroded and broken. Lots of carbonised grit and copper came out when I tapped it, so I know the motor was u/s and I reassembled everything and put it all back. But...
...Disappointment.. the renewed parking brake still doesn't work and there is no light on the driver's release switch.
I heard that auto brake motor failure is common round about 60-75k, and I only bought the car for £400 as spares and repair because it was in good condition with only 70k on an 06 plate and the reason it was cheap the brake didn't work. Having refurbished and 're-installed the brake module I'm not sure how to proceed. I have already taken the brake switch out, cleaned all the connection with contact cleaner but there is still no light and no power going to the brake module. No evidence of any water ingress in the cabin anywhere so could the problem be fused or still under the passenger seat?
Renault repair is out of the question due to costing probably twice what I paid for the car. Can't PX it, can't sell it, the engine purrs lovely but MOT due in October. I've SORNed it. Hate to scrap it because it's a lovely motor if only the damned brake would work.

My Renault is currently in the garage, the have changed the hand break unit (EPB) and my passenger side caliper, however even with a new module the hand break isn't working at all, as in its doing nothing, I don't suppose anyone has any idea what could be wrong? The mechanics are scratching their heads atm not knowing what the issue could be. Thanks for any advice

With all the respect, take it to someone that knows what they are doing...
Have they checked power and grounds at the module?
      Have they checked communication lines?
Why was the module replaced, which codes were set?

@@LMAutoRepairs its at my local garage, I've just called and they have said I may need to take it to a Renault garage for diagnostics which is a pain as we don't have one local, he said him and his team have tried everything. It's driving me mad as I have been without a car since Sunday evening. The car will run perfectly just no hand break. Thank for your reply

I understand, but as I said, there a few things they need to check... otherwise they will never find the problem...
Replacing parts in the hope that fixes it, is never the right way...

I tried to change lever but it didnt help. Did someone encounter this before ? It is quite annoying to see everytime error when i pull parking brake.

Make sure you unblock the drains that cause the water to get in there in first place...

Is there anything i can do about it ?

Scuttle panel drains are / were clogged. The water can't be drained normally and finds it way through the air vents / air system into the car.

The blocked scuttle panel drains can be seen from the bottom if you remove the rear half of the black plastic inner wheelhouse liners left and right. It helps if you remove both front wheels. Cut the black rubber drain tube off where it exits the frame above it (rearwards of the suspension springs). Do not attempt to unblock it, it will clog again soon. just cut it off there, that is ok
