Working on a 76 El Camino Classic (which my mother and grandfather both encouraged me to buy but now preach I should sell 😂) and pulled up your video to prove my point to my grandfather that me having it as a "toy" to learn skills on while learning to fix, makes it a worthwhile project
Thanks for being a good example 😂❤
The application of skills that we acquire by doing project cars far exceeds just the ability to do project cars.
You’re 100% right on that.
Don’t let anybody discourage you from pursuing your passions. And remember that ultimately you don’t have to justify yourself to anybody. You just be true to yourself.
I share a ton of techniques and skills throughout the entire channel, so there’s much you can learn.
Thank you so much for watching.
Invaluable information here. Thank you sir!
You’re very welcome. I’m glad it was helpful.
I try to present a wide variety of techniques on the channel. Some may be a bit unorthodox, but as our motto around here states -
Make it safe, make it done, and go have fun
The way I put these small beads is clamp two bits of angle together with a spacer, Clamp down the sheet and use a brickies bolster and a hammer
Great idea. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic video, I've found myself in a situation that replacement floor pans do not exist and I was worried. Your method however, has alleviated the problem.
Thanks. I’m a firm believer in whatever it takes to make it work
The motto here on the MKS channel is, make it safe, make it done, and go have fun.
Thank you so much for watching. And thanks for commenting.
RAWK!!!
This episode is Perfect! Completely answered my questions about reinforcing sheet metal with out special tools. Thank you for taking the time to do this video, I know now by using these techniques and tricks that I can do the floor pans in the Crew cab with out all the special tools. The only method I've used that was similar was the vise trick, but I only used it for flat bar, not using angle iron as a metal break . I really like the home made dyes for a bead roll, that trick should work perfectly for reinforcing sections of the floor. Great episode Mike! I really appreciate you taking the time to explain some of your techniques for working sheet metal with out special tools. Rock on!
Glad it was helpful. As with anything else, practice practice practice.
Thanks for the great ideas! Was trying to come up with a way to scratch make some decent floors for my GF’s project car ( A 64 Ford Anglia) as getting replacements will cost a fortune and we’re on a very tight budget, and the round stock die method I think will work slick! Thanks again for sharing!
you can do this, you might have to make some relief cuts because of the metal stretching… But it’s very doable. I’m glad that it was helpful to you.
There is a lot of fabricating stuff on the channel…
Hope it’s helpful
Thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate you checking in. Hope you enjoy the channel.
This is great it solves my problems making a floor patch.
Awesome! Glad it’s helpful. There are tons of episodes on fabricating here that you should also find helpful
Thanks for joining in. 😎
Perfect video. I need to fabricate floor sections for a Checker station wagon. I don't want to invest in specialty equipment I may never need again. Will use your technique instead. Thank you for sharing. I subscribed.
Welcome to the channel! Thanks for the sub!.
I’m turning out more of these “fabrication that doesn’t suck“ videos as I can. Glad they help!!
There is also a ton of hands-on fabrication on the “stitches“ challenger - that project is largely fabrication, rebuilding that Rusty unibody.
Really glad you’re here! Hope you enjoy the channel,
we have an outstanding community of top Notch people.
Awesome skills. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Hope you’re enjoying the channel
Awesome Content keep it coming i just love this kind of content
Thanks. I appreciate that. Definitely more fabrication coming soon… I’ve had a lot of mechanical stuff I’ve had to deal with in recent weeks… But I was actually filming some fabrication stuff today. Should be out in mid December.
Thanks for watching. Hope youre enjoying the channel
Nice instruction, Mike. Well done.

Maybe a video on building a metal fab tool would be awesome
Absolutely. Thanks for the suggestion. I’m always looking for suggestions to make new content!

I have one for you. I am trying to fabricate a floor on a crown. Victoria to fit a a F150 chassis cut the whole floor out how to reinforce the frame need help anybody out there I could use the help South Carolina.
You’re probably going to have to get a sheet metal brake. With thst You can custom fit the floor pan in any way you want,
If you look through my “stitches, Challenger” episodes, there are dozens of episodes on how to make floor pans from scratch
In the series, I show the techniques on how to make really complex extrusions out of sheet metal by hand.
I think you’ll find these helpful
Thank you for watching. Let me know how else I can help.
Maybe drive heavy equipment over the die
