    huge fan of it, I've heard plenty of people say they are just afraid of "another thing to go wrong" but if the wire breaks you can always manually adjust the optic anyways. Plus backup irons exist for a reason/red top on top or canted. This makes the lvpo so much faster to get on target and adjust on the fly

    • @breedlofam
      @breedlofam Před měsícem +2

      Honestly, never understood a canted backup dot. Too much work, too much time to get on target when its canted. Easier to just lift your head and call it a day rather than twist your rifle and hope you twist it perfectly and don't fumble it.

    Feels like it would be better for the magnified setting to be when you hand is farther out on the forend. More stable - less wiggle when magnified. Pull it in - less stable but you are focused closer where it matters less. However maybe that motion feels counterintuitive. Super neat concept.

    • @gavincline209
      @gavincline209 Před měsícem +2

      Was gonna throw that out there. Every lpvo runs different directions for magnification, so would setting it up “backwards” for the direction you have make it that way? Where zoomed out is hand forward. I’d bet so probably.
      But also like said above, human intuitiveness is a thing. Brain thinks “bring the image in closer”, and correlates that to bringing in your hand closer. Like your hand is physically doing the work. It’s hard to overcome those sort of things, mentally and takes alot of practice to do so without real thought. i.e… a high stress situation.

I am think a gear driven system would be better but it’s hard to achieve the mechanical advantage necessary to rotate the power lever.

    Antimatter scopes are cool, but, my body double, in the Navy, whom I've met by the way, has a patent for
    A reality distorting particle beam, which uses antimatter to destroy, and create. They can be antimatter weapons, or welding tools, on a different setting.
    I also have a patent through him for the TR3B "Black Manta," and other associated technologies that comprise it.
    Of course, I also custom-make vehicles, and have things I probably haven't had patented yet, that are being researched, and when patented, and understood to be safe, they'll be at wal-mart someday. They still sell guns at Walmart, right? And electric scooters?

    An electric version would not be a good idea. The weight and complexity are not worth it. Plus there are other issues.
    You need a way to set an end stop point for each direction, to keep the motor from wanting to keep turning, or attempt to, once the maximum rotation of the scope lever is reached.
    Not having that would cause damage to the mechanism or motor, maybe even the scope.
    Speed of adjustment is also a factor.
    A fast motor would make it difficult to choose an intermediate magnification level in between minimum and maximum. It would also run a higher damage risk if there were no end stops to limit the mechanism.
    A slow motor that allowed for you to be more precise in your chosen magnification level would be annoying to use, especially when you are in a hurry.
    And you have the fact that almost certainly you would need gearing to make the motor do its job, and depending on how the gearing is setup, it could make it impossible to manually adjust the lever.
    If you could manually adjust the lever, that would force drive the motor, which could damage the electrical components due to induced voltage.
    An electric version is a bad idea all around.
    Plus, on top of all that, you can use this manual version both more quickly and more precisely than an electric version would be able to manage. An electric version would be the inferior product.

    Wow i just spent 2400$ on ACOG with red dot on top. If I had known about this I would’ve got the LPVO literally having to take hand off gun and adjust scope is what turned me off to it too.

    I think the height would make this useful for hunting AR'S as well. I have a good Vortex Scope on mine currently but see this as a need for it since game doesn't walk predicably to a known yardage and pose for a shot. I would like not necessarily a torture test, but more of a field test with fibe grain sand/playground sand and water poured on then rinsed as a person might experience out here in The mountains of Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.

    I've seen videos of the electric one and that is the way I want to go. They are using an 18650 li-ion cell in it so it will have plenty of power.

      @@jason200912 an 18650 is only 18mm diameter and 65mm long. It fits in the base of the mount between the rail and the rings.

    It wasn’t very long ago that LPVO scopes were used primarily for big game rifles or dangerous game rifles for African safaris. They didn’t cost anywhere close to what these multi thousand dollar ones cost today. In fact they were only around $300-$500 and these were the top tier brands.

    Seems "nifty" - not bad, kind of "neat-o" but is it all that practical? Not in my opinion. You still have to adjust your shooting grip to change your zoom, and if you have accessories set up with a specific index point in mind, it really won't work with this. I'll stick to LPVO + offset red dot for fast transitions.
