Jake’s optimistic and encouraging attitude toward and around his younger coworkers is really contagious. I really appreciate how Jake always shows up for his team.
I can't stand that guy
Jake is FAKE A/F!!
@@mikestclair5277that says a lot about you.
@@mikestclair5277you’re the only one. Jake is the man.
He hams it up for the camera too much sometimes
Yes on the Spud truck.
Jaymie is a badass.
The Corsa looks pretty sweet.
Hopefully some padding goesvon the center console of the Morrvair, i can see some elbows getting bruised.
Came here to say this. Those front corners look spiky! What’s the over-under on how long before Matt takes a ball-peen hammer to the front corners?
@brianhawthorne7603 definitely a claw hammer🤣🤣
I'd suggest for the console to consider at least some safety .... but I'm European, I just don't get the Cybertruck stuff. 😀
This is pretty spot on to what I was thinking, I'm really digging the color on the corvair.
It's so refreshing to watch videos with kid's that were raised the right way. That's Matt and Jamie's greatest accomplishment! 😊
The 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
YES, we need more 6x6 build action! "The SPUDback"
And to Kaulin. Yes, you are right, there will probably be a ton of tips on how to to stuff, and how NOT to do stuff. The important ting is to do it the best way you know how. Then, take what ever bit of advice you get along the way and incorporate into your knowledge on how to do stuff :D
Kaulin clipping the 'B' pillar with the newly finished console, closing the door, then re-entering like it never happened... fantastic, funny editing!
Definitely wanna see more on the 'ol Chevy Spud truck!!
More spud truck!
Agreed!
GOTTA LOVE THEM SPUDS
Right the caption was very misleading.. I thought we were going to see alot more of the spud truck & they were going to actually be working on the spud truck in this video..
@@danafaulhaber334 My thoughts as well.
I would definitely leave that double frame in place. That is the backbone of the whole rig! With the gearing and the flex it will encounter you'll be glad you did.
Thanks for a great video!
they got 2 frames for the price of 1!!
Matt and crew... Thank you for sharing your videos. My father andI connected quite a few times over your videos the past few years. When he passed away on Sunday, I realized why your channel is so special. It brings together a mix of people for fun, adventure and taking care of others. I appreciate all the builds, the rescues, and the laughs. Thank you for bringing my father and I together over things like your Morrvair and the Wrecker and all the random rescues.
Stay safe and thank you so much for your content.
That Corvair is absolutely stunning.
💯🤔 there's only one problem they lost the right front hub cap😮 the editing really tried to avoid a seeing It😂
Yeah that is a sweet car
This is the first time in history that “stunning” has been used to describe a Corvair.
Yes, it is. What a great gift to give your wife. Just a shame that Jaime didn't get to drive it home.
Is it just me, or did they drive it from Colorado to Utah without licence plates?
@@christianellegaard7120 Sharpie on paper “in transit” in the window and a bill of sale is legal in colorado to get a purchase home. In Utah they put license plates on minijeeps, so, who knows what the law is?
Jamie has a perfection of taste and eye if we judge by the choice of her car. What a stunner. Even matched shoes and glasses to the character of it :))
Yes, it is. What a great gift to give your wife. Just a shame that Jaime didn't get to drive it home.

@@christianellegaard7120heck yea! I would’ve done the same 😅😂
Can it really be a Corvair? It's shiny and it runs sweetly....
@@christianellegaard7120 They probably just took the plates off for the camera.
As a youth, just before heading to Marine Corp boot camp and MCRD, I was gifted a basket case '65 Corvair Monza Sport Coupe and a '64 which was in really bad shape. Sadly by the time I graduated boot, went to primary MOS training both Corvairs were sold by my not so legal step father. To this day 40 plus years later, I still want to build a '65 Corvair! Awesome Matt for finding a very well preserved model.
Man he did you dirty on that one. Your step jerk should have at least asked if you wanted the cars stored in a storage locker instead of selling them off without your approval. I probably would have paid the rental space rather than lose a car I loved. Maybe not the beater one. You can always find another beater but you can't always find a good condition but needs work classic car.
I have one so i know what you mean. it's too much fun to drive and it likes 80 mph for some reason.🤠
I love Matt's long term commitment to a car that had an entire chapter dedicated to it in the book "Unsafe at any speed". Admittedly the major handling issues from the back axle design were fixed in the '65.
Met a fellow at Yosemite with the 180 hp Corvair. His whole dash was first place plaques for racing.
We had mucho fun in the mountains!
I used to have a '66 mustang and let me tell you if the corvair was considered unsafe at that time and have never heard anything about the mustang. I'm not sure that it would be a good idea to put myself into one of those corvairs because it was a questionable decision to drive that mustang around most of the time.
It’s nice to see Tucker is doing well!
Where's Trever?
Tucker and Trevor have a YT Channel! Where have you been?!
@misadventurelab
It's too bad Matt fired Tucker and Trevor
@richardcranium2561 do you have any evidence whatsoever that they were fired?
@@DrPepper22222 Trevor quickly disappeared, That typically is a sign of dismissal. Tucker didn't look very happy in his last few video's before he disappeared. Do you have any evidence that the were not fired?
The headache rack should have been tied in to the lower structure, not welded to the top of it. And you hid the third brake light! 🤷🏻♂️🤣
At least the gusset is a real upgrade. Makes sense to do it with gussets so that the bed is still removable, it’s not heavily loaded like a roustabout truck. I’ve seen oval cut-ins for brake lights that look good.
It just needs to be tied to the frame of the bed, mate, it was only welded to the diamond plate flooring. Very poor design from the maker, made for form over function. @@russbell6418
I was just thinking that. Might've needed to go a bit lower with it. Now nobody behind will be able to see the light. I think he measured 35 to the top not the bottom, lol.
@@ShukenFlash It's not like we didn't go 80 years without the stupid things.
TomTom’s lack of direction is the perfect amount. Good stuff.
of course we would love to see the 6x6 with the military axles. Awesome video again !!
In 1965, my neighbor bouught a new 1965 corvair corsa, and that year he took me and his son to Sebring 12 hours race. On the way a chevy nova tried to race us on curvy streach of road and we left him in our dust. I always loved that car. My brother also had one while he was in the airforce in tampa. Glad to see you treat your wife great!
This Corvair's design is still great looking 59 years later
Someone should electrify one.
More Spud Runner plz. 👍🏼 Love you all. Pink Wednesday is too fun🎉
What a great vid, hit on a bunch of home grown memories for me. Lived in Ft. Collins for half my life, but started getting crazy so moved to spud truck land and loving it. Those snow storms were just the norm, but not fun for Hurricaners, glad you got through. That is a beautiful '65 monza, such a cool color, you're going to love it. My older brother's friend had a '66 in HS, exhaust leaked into the interior so bad you had to drive with the windows down, even in the winter. Personally I prefer gen one, fell in love with the whole model lineup. It's a highlight when you're working on them. Maybe you should do a second YT channel for corvairs.
The Evening Orchid is a fantastic color. It's a color that cannot be described. Matt, it will grow on ya.
Matt, get to love the colour. Remember - Happy wife, happy life.
I need the paint code, it's lovely. I can think of a few custom two or three tone schemes it would work really well in.
TomTom: "Matt left me no direction..."
Also TomTom: "thats my favorite type of direction i can do whatever i want"🤣
Finally we get some spud truck action! Put those big Oshkosh independent suspension axles on 'er!
Build the 6x6!! Would definitely watch a series on that!
Absolutely need to see spud truck content. I love recoveries but the build content is why im really here
Tom Tom you’re the engineer so you’d know but I’d leave the double frame rail in place if your making it a 6x6 rollback which I totally hope you do. It be nice to see “someone” actually build one the right way. 😉 😉
im accually with you. leave the dual frame.
Double clutch would be a great help shifting that good ol c60.
Common sense is in short supply.
Will they be carrying any 75,000 pound rock crawlers on that rollback?
Yes on the spud truck! The farm I worked on in the 80’s had one of those trucks (a 70’s model gasser) 2WD stake bed with a hydraulic dump powered from a PTO. It was a 4 speed manual with two speed rear end….
I think that we are all in agreeance that we NEED more of the spud truck! Cant wait to see what it becomes!
I wondered what happened to the "Tater Trail Truck". More please.
I looked for it in the yard, during the offroad games, but didn't spot it anywhere.
I figured those axles was going on it and that Matt would have wanted it to use during the offroad games.
Maybe it will be at the next event.
Could reclaim worlds largest offroad wrecker title with that truck.
A stipulation for that title should be the ability to drive through the sand hollow tunnel.
Many trails have large overhangs, that would stop a wrecker that is too physically large.
That’s a big heck YES on doing the spud truck !
Thank you Matt and crew for the update on how things are going there in Utah ! I think the new Corvair looks nice !
WOW!!! What a gorgeous car. Love the body style & color. Jaymie is "Glowing". I can't blame her. Great find for sure.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Jake has the best attitude!
DEFINITELY want to see more Spud Truck content! Cant wait to see it dropping work rigs with limited seats MUCH closer to the pin.
The headache screen should have its upright pillars recessed in the bed for strength.
CAD - Cardboard Aided Design was the easier way to do it. ;-)
That Corvair brings back a lot of memories. It was 1971 when I spied a parked '66 Corvair Corsa hardtop, in yellow, with a 'For Sale' sign on it. It was PERFECT (in appearance), except for a missing engine lid chrome molding (rear edge). I bought it, for around $750 if I remember correctly. My third overall vehicle, and my first with a manual transmission. It was fun, but I think the turbocharged engine was a bit down on power though. I did get it up to 103 mph once.......Front end got a bit light at that point.......
SUGGESTION for riv-nuts: take few matching bolts and grind their caps into a pointy/sharper cone shape(spike). You can also buy them made from harder metal, or heat/cold treat your own. Then screw them in, leaving the pointy part sticking out a few millimetres. Then slide your panel on top of it into place, and hit with a rubber mallet/hammer roughly where the spikes are, this way marking the exact location. If it needs to be very accurate, do one first, drill it and lock it into place before banging the rest. And save the marking screws with rivets for next time when you need it.
Or simply buy a set of transfer punches in a range of diameters, each with a center point. Makes hole transfer quick, painless (unless you miss with hammer) and accurate
This is the way…
Or drill in new riv-nuts.
@@ecgwyo Yes, forgot the name of it, but thats what i meant when saying about buying the ones of the shelf made from harder metal. Thanks for reminding the name- trasfer punch.
It is referred to as back pointing where I come from . Cheers
Hilarious! My wife and I visited Bucc ees for our first time ever last weekend. 200 fuel pumps and still had to wait in line. Who knew?
110 Pumps
induced demand?
@@DrTheRich
I think most were there for the novelty. I was only there for my wife. I don't ever need to go again. It was like a theme park without the rides. Crazy lines. Kids running around unsupervised. Grabbing food off the shelf, opening and sampling then being told to put it back. Just absolutely no place for me.
Record profits for American oil companies!
I refuse to go till it dies down a bit 😂
YES TO THE SPUD TRUCK! I was real excited to see that build start and i assumed those axle tomtom bought were gonna go under it. Also I'm excited for the samurai build, i said something to you at the off road games about the turbo kit really waking those little motors up.
I love these kind of episodes where everybody is doing something different all over the place
"snowrunner" players Will be glad to see you in a 6x6 rollback, we already got the morrvair and the wrecker as community mods!!!!!
I have it in the new game they just released
Ok. I need to get back on snow runner lol
@@drink15 it's also in expeditions???
@@salvador_mano4x4 yup, same models
That's awesome when I get home I'm playing snow Runner looking for it
The point of a headache rack being taller than the cab is that if you drop something on the headache rack, you don’t damage the cab. Hope this works out for y’all. Cheers 🍻
good point....
@owendodman
Spot on. All it needed is the gussets down at the base, end of problem.
Robby needs body work for his shop tho 😂
I’ve always seen headache racks slightly higher than cab. If it’s lower, you can’t haul long material laying on top of rack without it hitting the cab
But the actual point of a headache rack is to make sure the things in the back of the truck arent the last things that go through your head.
My first car was a 1965 Corsa convertible. And I lived in Colorado at the time (late 70's). My heater didn't work either! Thanks for reviving some great memories!
This was an amazing video. I like the different story lines happening at the same time.
Hello from the Winder hat guy from the Off Road Games!
Another GREAT vlog from Team MORR! Good to see Tom again! Several observations! First, I love how Matt blamed or suspected the "kids" for not keeping quiet about Jaymie's surprise, but he NEVER gave any thought that she "might" have seen ONE WAY air fare tickets to Denver and have a pretty good idea as to why! LOL! Second observation. Why do belts ALWAYS seem to fail when we're out in the middle of nowhere!? The last observation was, that the Corvair's engine is in the rear so that when the "trunk" is open, most that drive by don't even think that a motorist is having engine trouble and might need assistance! LOL! Glad that Matt and Jaymie had a safe journey home!👍
I would love to have Jake as a coworker. You're awesome, man. Always a smile, never complaining, ready to help.
Love seeing Katelynn welding in the shop and getting more practice at it. She’ll be a pro at it before long
MATT.....Jake is AWESOME.!! Keep him around! Love his attitude and comments 👍
I love that Corvari! My first car, paid for with my own money, in 1972 was a light mettalic green 1966 4-door Corvair with the 140 hp engine and an automatic. On it I learned to use vacuum gauges to synchronize the carbs. Most people don't know there are two primary and two secondary carbs. Like a separated four barrel. My heater worked! I also drove it in the PA winter which was harsher than they are now. A couple bags of sand in the frunk helped with front wheel traction to steer. Snow tires on the rear and it would go in snow without trouble. It was a great car. The four doors made it easy to haul my friends that didn't have a car!
I happen to think the late 4 door has better styling than the 2 door! I just bought a really nice 65 4 door (my 3rd one) in September of 23. It isn't Evening Orchid, but it is a sort of British Racing Green, and it looks great!
I have to say, Jamie has VERY good taste… that HAS to be my Favorite Corvair I have seen by far! That thing is SWEET!
The paint and tinting on Jamie’s new car looks amazing. What a great gift
Kaulin: "Don't touch it. It's still wet"
Matt: "Is it?" (touches it anyway)
CLASSIC!
spud truck was my first MORR video, glad to see some progress
Mat what has happened to you? You actually bought a corvair that doesn't need worked on before you get it on the road and it and has to be constantly worked on on the trip back home. I'm proud of you man. I hope Jaymie continues to love her new old corvair
I love the color of this Vair. My first one was a 64 convertible, it was a garage find. It sat for 5 yr's and I had it running in about 10 minutes. So far, I have owed 6. Best of luck.
Matt wearing a Hawaiian shirt in a snow storm.... Classic! 😅
I'd be up for more spud truck content. Love the color of that Corvair.😍
Enjoyed bery much! Jake and the boys and Tom Tom are a fun combo :) and Jaymie, way to go!!
And we vote yes for a spud truck build !!!
Matt, the spud truck is seriously my favorite project. I'm excited to see what crazy crawler hauler you turn it into.
Love that color. On 65 Pontiacs it was called Iris Mist. Good Buy.
Me too.... dreaming of a '65 Malibu SS convet. in Evening Orchid
Great looking Corvair , need a full walk around in an out and backstory of best looking Corvair you ever picked up. Congrats Jaymie !
Corvair looks amazing congrats
But the headache rack is now blocking the 3rd break light idk about your laws. But here in PA that wouldn’t pass the pa inspection. lol
My dad had a red & white corvair in the 70s that he loved. I was only a teen and don't know much more about it. Your covairs make me think of him. ❤ Thanks.
That Corvair is gorgeous! A 65 is my favorite as well. So cool!
You raised good kids, Matt. I know how hard that is. Congratulations to you and Jamie!
Jamie, the car is the best one of the fleet, I love it, that one is the best looking out of all of them, Happy Birthday, we love ya.
Loved that you let the kids have a run at it.
But yet still showed Tom Tom and what Matt was doing.
The vision being casted for your channel is spot on in my case.
You showcase accomplishments and challenges in everyone.
That will show growth in them which will help inspire others.
This is my favorite channel between all your CZcams friends…by far.
Largely based on what you’re doing to inspire others through your team.
Easy to see God is moving in & through your life.
Moab 3/13!
My wife and I visited Moab week of 3/11. Rolled past Rory's shop on way to Monument Valley. Did not stop out of respect since I knew he was getting ready for off-road games. We hit snow as well in Colorado. If you ever get a chance, Moab Springs Ranch is a great place to stay.
As well next time through I70 you need to take Jamie to the Hotel Colorado and Glenwood Springs! Next visit will be to your side of UT!
Tom....I've been waiting for you to use those massive military axels on the SpudMobile!
I had a Corsa when I was in the Navy. Drove it back and forth from Florida to Norfolk VA. Upgraded the rear suspension and wheels and tires. That thing cornered like it was on rails.
Congrats Jaymie! Still the most beautiful car GM ever made! And now, Matt can claim the Guinness Record for most miles in bad weather in a vintage Corvair that he's never seen before he drives it!
That corvair got my heart racing at first sight ❤
Sweet looking Corvair Jaymie. Good job Matt.
When I was in college, I had the same Corvair. Although the paint color technically was evening orchid poly, we called it the purple passion pit. Loved it.
Jaime looks fantastic in her new corvair. But Matt don't forget to put or fix the heater in Jaime corvair. The guys did a great job on the middle console and fixing blue steel. A round of a applause for the crew in doing a great job 👏 👏👏👏. You're all awesome 👌 👏 👍. From Orlando Florida.
Matt & Jamie this is the best road trip ever, ultimate birthday gift !!! “MORR” A Team is productive 💛 TY
Probably add a drain line from the bottom of each cup holder thru the floorboard, since the drinks will be spilling when off road. And, can just wash out with water.
I understand that MORR is applying to CORSA to form a new chapter of the Corvair Society of America in Hurricane Utah! Next thing you know they will be applying to hold the annual convention of CORSA in Hurricane! There will be a Concours, a People's Choice, a Road Rally, an Economy Run, Vendors, a Swap Meet and to close out the week an Awards Banquet. And they have experience with the practise runs of the Off Road Games. Congratulations Jamie, very nice choice a 65 Corsa coupe in Evening Orchid. Oh and Matt the Gates 3V560 belt is an excellent replacement spare fan belt.
DUUUDE that restored Corvair coupe is GORGEOUS!!! 😁 Awesome find! It Looks like a VERY well done restoration. It's got the RETRO A.F. spoke alloys, with the TRI- wing cap spinners!!! That's a NICE one right there!! 😁
And they apparently lost one of the hubcaps on the trip. 5:14 36:30
Do you know Matt I’m a Mopar guy, but I have to admit GM knocked it out of the park with his Corvair. That is a beautiful car. I love the way the lines are on it. Beautiful car good pic guy good pic this is six in a row.Jim from Kennerdell PA
Spud truck gonna be amazing. ❤
I don’t know anything about cars but that thing is beautiful. Congratulations Jaimie! Happy birthday 🎉
We love Jaymie. It’s nice to see her get something special for her birthday. Once the new is over, visit Buc-ees again and try their brisket or turkey. The food there is pretty amazing.
That looks like Rose Gold . Beautiful ! And that console, maybe round off the sharp edge and corner's.
What a beautiful Corvair! Jamie's dream car, shows that dreams can come true! Happy Birthday Jamie! Love how even the side windows have a delicate lavender tint, a real dream boat. Say, where's Katelynn's pink hat?! A good week, lotsa progress.
Two things. What a sweet corvair. Definitely want to see more of the Idaho truck.
On that headache rack... I woulda done the cutoff exact same way, but found or made some square tube to extend the ends down into the main body of the flatbed and welded that to the 90' corner on the inside, you'd never have to worry about it again that way, and eliminated the need for gussets. Just my 2 cents... :)
We got to see a full build of the spud truck. It is going to be great.
That is the coolest corvair I've seen... Beautiful clean paint/ interior
33:35 So I used a Porter Cable hole saw to cut a hole in the frame of my car to access a captive nut that had broken loose. I was aggravated about how slowly it cut until I read the package and saw that it was a wood hole saw. In that moment I immediately went from disappointed in it to impressed.
Love this! My Grandmother had a Corvair when I was growing up. Light blue one.
Kaulin (and Jake & Caitlyn) did a great job in the shop. Very professional in explaining what was being done and performing the tasks.
On par or better than some of the “ Professional” shows you see on cable.
Filming and editing crew deserves much credit ! 👍
That is a really nice Corvair well cared for. No issues driving it, great paint job. Jamie's in car heaven not having to kick the wheels and hope it drives, starts and runs. Does seem to need a working heater. Great job Matt.
Oh and Kolin, "There is an easier way to do that" in the comments. But don't ask me I'm just being snarky.
So glad you got to experience Bucees. I’m sure Kolby had already bragged about them! Bringing a little Texas gem to other states.
Very lucky find on the Corsa,,,,Congrats Jamie..
😂 I laughed my but ogg over the sound effect when Tom blew out the gas line😂😂😂 great job I didn't expect that at all 👍👍👍
Happy birthday Jayme I love the car the color is absolutely perfect.
Kaitlynn helping Kaulin to make sure the console is level was priceless 😂😂
Have you not looked at the new car flyers? More cupholders are always needed!
Also, get an older style first aid kit that is metal. put a bit of padding on the lid, and put it into or on the center console, and then you have storage and an arm rest!
Jamie seems like a really chill wife and that is a beautiful color on the corvair.
The spud truck needs those military axles!
