There is no doubt that the Louis Vuitton Speedy bag is one of the most classic designer bags of all times, however, in the last few years, I have noticed its popularity decline a little. I still absolutely love mine and still think it has good value for money.

I just got my speedy bag couple months ago and purchased for a long term investment and practicality. To be honest… the less popular/trendy, the better! Who wants to rock what everybody else is rocking? This is a classic! 😊

The speedy, I think, is the most iconic LV piece. Even though people don’t use it and it’s not on trend, I will still never sell mine. It was the first bag in my collection and still in perfect condition. The design and silhouette will go on forever.

Actually, I got tired of speedy 1 or 2 years ago, but now, I think I see them less in real life and social medias.. which is a good thing! A very practical and carefree bag, I think it’s forever relevant.

Fashion is really about what speaks to each person and brings them joy as you say all the time. My Speedy B 25 DA was my first luxury bag, as it is for many, and I have been wearing it all summer! Audrey Hepburn is one of my style icons and this bag was designed for her so I always feel stylish when wearing it, even if it is not an it bag.
I love the speedy and have been collecting a few limited edition ones. They are practical, secure, comfortable, just throw everything in it and I love travelling with my speedy.
The speedy was designed for Audrey Hepburn, that’s enough for me to know it’s always going to be classic and timeless. I love mine with all my heart ❤️

I am definitely a speedy girl. I have 2 in 35; 1 in 40; and 1 in 30. I have all three prints. I find them to be classic bags that never go out of style. I love them.

Just recently purchased a My World Tour Speedy in mono/black and CANNOT WAIT for it to arrive. Did one sticker (an "LV" text rather than my own initials) on the bottom right of the bag so it's as discreet as possible and will still be enticing to others in case I ever wanted to sell it (which I probably wont).

I bought my first speedy bag in 1977.I love this style and love it when I don't see too many people using them.
I recently bought a speedy 25 in DE. Though I have only had it for 2 months, my handles need to be replaced. The edge coat was peeling. It was made in France and I was so happy. But now I have to send it out to get fixed. But I'll tell you I love walking with my little bad daily for work. It's great.
The speedy in my opinion, is an iconic LV item. Even though i don't see many people using it and it’s not on trend at the moment, I still think it will remain as a classic! It was actually one of the bags i was picking between when choosing my first ever Luxury item, but i ended up going with the Alma BB for myself and my lifestyle xx

I literally just bought a speedy 25 in the Damier Ebene about a month ago and I am so happy I did. I used to have a Clapton PM, a very structured bag, compared to the speedy. I love my speedy and am very happy I got it. I love the slouch if I choose to not use my organizer, and I love how cute and tiny it is. ❤️

Congratulations on your speedy 25! I sold my 35 and 30 but kept my 25 since I use her all the time. She’s such a useful little bag. I have many other mm and gm LV bags with crossbody straps which is definitely a more comfortable fit than a top handle. I was culling my collection as I have many bags and rarely used the 30 but I regret selling my 35. The canvas on the 35 was the best canvas of my entire collection but it didn’t have the crossbody strap and was only used if I was driving. I decided to replace the 35 with a Mulberry oversized Alexa. I know I will love my oversized Alexa because I have loved and still use my regular Alexa in slate blue with silver hardware and I adore Mulberry leathers. They have so many different types of leathers and colours to choose from. The shade names are superb too! I’ve had a burnt peach limited edition lily with yellow gold hardware and a snake embossed English plum lily with nickel hardware. Mulberry can get all of my money right now 😜
This is actually something I’m still considering in the speedy b damier ébène. I think it’s a forever classic, along with the never full and there’s nothing wrong with a popular bag that’s been around for decades and still sells
My husband bought me the Speedy 25b in monogram for our 1 year wedding anniversary. I love it so much! Then a few months later my CA at lv showed me the Damier Ebene print and I bought it because it was so carefree. So now I have 2 Speedys which I use all the time.

I think the Classic Speedy is certainly one of the most Iconic Recognizable bags ever. I will never part with mine. There's no time limit on this piece. I enjoy it more now than ever. 🌼
Speedy will die as a classic bag when LV will die as a brand. I know we can be all tired to see it everywhere, but we also tired to see classic Chanel or Birkin:) Speedy is a face of LV

The monogram speedy 40 was my very first LV and I have had it for 10 yrs now. I don’t always have it in my rotation but I just rearranged my closet and now since I see it everyday, I reach for it. Classic Always
Yes, so agree, if you love anything wear it and use it! I find it hard to believe that a bag that has been around for decades and decades can all of a sudden become irrelevant??? I think fashion moves too quickly and trends come and go but iconic is iconic. If one does not like the bag it’s likely not because it’s considered irrelevant but more likely because they are being influenced by social media or they would have or have never liked the bag even back in the 40’s or 50’s or 60’s and on

Speedy is a classic. Not trendy. However, never will be irrelevant or out of fashion. I am glad and loving it that I don’t see it often in the workplace. I see head turn checking out my bag hahahaha

I bought a Speedy 30 in DE just like yours years ago for right around $1000 when I got my first “real” job at 19 but unfortunately had to sell it when my luck turned bad for a short time. Now, as a fashion lover and bag collector, I can’t tell you how much I wish I had kept it, but probably won’t buy another now at the current price, because I have other bags (like the Antigona) that serve the purpose.
So sorry to hear your speedy is not with you anymore but I believe it was the best decision at the time. Also, so glad to hear things turned around and you are enjoying fashion and luxe bags again! The antigona is such a stylish bag😍Xx

I got my wife 2 year ago a speedy 30 and she loves it in azur color. Than I got her Twist PM but still she wears speedy more often then twist PM.
I think it works for her since she uses it every day for daily life. I think its still classic and looks very nice.
LV speedy bag might not current in trend, but it never out of style. It always made great come back.
I have been so tempted to pull the trigger on buying a speedy 30b in damier ebene after the price increase rumours maybe this is a sign 😂 I actually like that’s it’s less popular currently because I’m not seeing it everywhere. However it’s a bag that’s been around for 90 years so it’s definitely a timeless classic for LV

The Speedy was my first designer handbag too, but I feel like my understanding of my style has evolved to a point where I don’t really have a place for it in my collection anymore - it’s more sentimental if anything. I now prefer different shapes and more versatility in the carrying options than my poor Speedy can provide.

The SA told me the designer usually designs for housewares like plates...not sure if I"d want a head on my plate either, never mind a bag.....anyways I like the original classic version! My first was a speedy 30, 15 years ago. I got my daughter her first LV is a speedy 25b. And my latest bag in 2021 is a speedy 30b. I love my speedy bags.

I do agree with you Isabella. The speedy will never go out of fashion. I’m getting the classic Speedy 25 for my upcoming birthday (instead of the speedy B option) and my reasons for choosing the speedy are the same as yours.
It’s classic, it’s timeless, it’s carefree and it’s not a bag you need to baby. Plus as someone who wears mostly blacks and neutrals, I feel that the speedy DE will go with EVERYTHING in my wardrobe. Great video! I loved hearing you validate ALL of my reasons as I was slightly worried I might not be making the best choice. Now I’m 100% sure!
Love my Speedyb30 in DE. Was just at the LV store yesterday and they actually had one in stock. I tried on the new speedy 25 in the Empriente leather in turtledove. it’s beautiful and I want it so badly 🥰 my daughter who will be 18 loves my speedy. I let her borrow it (will be her bag one day) I love black & brown on you with the bag. 💕 your outfit it perfect 🤩

I sold my speedy and I was sure I wasn’t a speedy girl BUT THEN I saw the speedy bb in monogram ink. Bought that and now it’s one of my favorite bags.

I own mostly coach vintage and the speedy 30b is my only LV bag. I'm not a trendy type of person and I wanted a bag that I could grow old with.

I will never be tired of it and will be one of my forever piece in my collection although mine is only 1 year plus. Love Damier Ebene print although i do have some SLG in Monogram print. Glad you finally didn’t end up selling yours. Just because it’s not promoted in social medias doesn’t mean the bag is out of fashion. Just like Hermès quota bags or Chanel’s classic flaps, It is a forever timeless piece and it will never be dated. I mean, everybody do need a good Boston bag at one stage of their life!!!
I don’t wear any of my damier ébène bags anymore but I can’t part ways with them. There are just too many memories from my early 20s attached to them. I am now 42. Hopefully I will, one day, be able to pass them to my nephew and niece!

Then when I was 21 my mum surprised me with the speedy and it's a memory I'll always cherish (it was $800 back then😅)

I think the reason why less and less people are talking about it is not because it's not an it bag anymore but more of almost everyone has it. I'm sure people who owns one still love theirs but the new bags are just more exciting to talk about.

I got my speedy for my birthday last year. I had always dreamed of owning one but I grew up poor, thinking that was an impossible dream. The day I went to pick mine, I cried the whole drive there thinking of how much my life had changed and how momentous it was that I was at a place in life that I could buy myself my dream bag. I never even considered if it wasn’t popular anymore. Since having it, I have noticed that i hardly ever see them out in the world and actually I like that they aren’t everywhere.

I bought my first LV bag this year. Was debating between the Speedy Bandouliere or Neonoe MM, and ultimately I chose Neonoe MM (the same colour as yours) because I want my first LV bag to be in the classic monogram print but with a dark-coloured strap/handle.
the speedy is the bag i always grab for work. i can get a water, my lunch, makeup, a big wallet, etc in that thing! i will forever rock my speedy. its all weather and i dont have to worry about rain.
I have the same Speedy basically, a DE 30. I do not carry it that often because I am just feeling like it's kind of overplayed right now. That said, for me, it is unbeatable as a rainy day bag. When we have stretches of bad weather here in CA, I will still find myself grabbing it. It goes with most everything, is lightweight with the canvas and sealed leather, zips closed...just can't beat it on a rainy day.
I also have a vintage Speedy 35 Mono, but I have to be in just the mood to grab it. Frankly, I just love seeing it in my closet. I only open display a few bags, and both the DE and Mono are on display. Just classic fashion, I love to see them.
And I would also love a good vintage Boston bag tbh. I would carry it probably more often than the DE Speedy right now if I found one that I couldn't live without.
Classic. I still love to see it on people. I much prefer it to the over saturation of trendy bags that are in one day & out the next.

The Speedy bag is definitely one of LV classic bag. I owed my Speedy for over 10 years which I will never give up on and I tend to for this bag more than the other LV bags. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this bag.
It still is a classic regardless of its lack of social media presence at the moment. I feel mini/ nano sized structured bags and shoulder bags are in the spotlight now, but trends will always come and go. The Speedy is and always will be iconic. I actually don't mind the saggy look because it adds to its charm of a being a casual everyday bag. However Speedy Bandouliere would be my first designer bag choice because I love crossbody bags!

I got exactly the same bag and this bag definitely the most classic bag and never out-dated. However, I don’t use it anymore since I have kids and switched to crossbody and shoulder bags. I am looking forward to go back to the speedy when my kids get older.
I absolutely agree. I've always been a speedy lover. And yeah they might not be cutting edge fashion wise, however they are timeless pieces and so practical and beautifull.

The Speedy will always be a classic piece. The "Express" had been going strong since 1930 when Audrey Hepburn had a smaller version commissioned and the "Speedy" was born.
The speedy 25 monogram was my first Louis Vuitton bag (that I can't find) but I still love it. Unfortunately I've had it for close to 20 years and did not treat it well. I love the classic look of the Speedy Ebene. IDC if its trendy I still love it! So I def agree with you. Im watching this in 2022.

Great video Isabelle. I have my speedy 30 in monogram, i love it, i still use it three or four time a week. I like the carefree feeling when using it especially its raining every day now here in Singapore and i dont really have to worry about my bag. Just need a good wet wipe and its good to go again.
Would love to see a a more detailed video of the wear and tear on the piping and handles of this bag please im currently deciding if I should purchase one I agree its a classic. I personally dont care its not the "it" bag. I like being different. So Id wear it even more now that no many are wearing it.
To me it's a forever classic, got mine in 2006 DE and I still carry it ( not so much as in the beginning). Too many social media influencers trying to feed us what the next it bag is, fashion is and will always be a revolving door. The classics will always be in and it's really what floats your boat not what's the latest craze etc.
I will never get rid of my speedy, love it!
