    I figured it was due to money. I mean, imagine your a bounty hunter:
    Rebels: we'll pay you 1 million credits to kill (insert Imperial officer name)
    Once they get there.
    Officer: The Empire has cleared me to offer you ten million credits in exchange for the location of whoever contracted you.
    It's just business at that point.

    • @thorenrectus8688
      @thorenrectus8688 Před 6 lety +52

      SabreXio Its always more than just money a lot of the time. Part of it was reputation and reliability. Betraying less contracts always meant more future potential contract offerings as you could be trusted as a bounty hunter. More of the smaller time bounty hunter likely just went for who paid more but they didn’t have much to lose to begin with

    This is a very interesting topic to cover. In elementary school we always thought the bounty hunters were the bad guys but one Star Wars fan in my class stated their true allegiance is to money so they are actually neutral and will side with whoever pays them whether they are the bad or good guys.

    Didn't the Rebel Alliance Fleet rely on Privateers significantly? Privateers as in civilians who operated in a paramilitary role who were given authority to harass, attack, destroy, and seize shipping and operations being used by the enemy force, essentially legitimized pirates. In the case of the Alliance, the privateers were allowed to operate against the Galactic Empire.

    If Zuckuss worked with the rebellion then how come the empire hired him to hunt down the Millennium Falcon? Did he work for both the rebellion and empire?

    • @IrkenExile
      @IrkenExile Před 3 lety +1

      It was during his hunt for the Falcon that he first got involved with the Rebellion. He was suffering from lung problems, IIRC, and the Rebels saved him. This convinced him to finally change sides after a long time sympathizing with them

    I thought that the rebels didn't hire bounty hunters because they were too expensive.

    Fear the Imperial IRS! They could have gotten around this by opening an Imperial Nail Salon on some Imperial backwater world as a money laundering front and pay their taxes on time.
