The “Tax Time” joke will always be funny
Whooaaaa look how lucky you are with all these beautiful totally real women falling at your feet
Does James pay you like a wumao?
The joke went from moderately funny to me at first then it got old now it’s circled back to being hilarious
Guessing the movie is so fun! I watch alot of movies. I mean I love free movies
czcams.com/video/n0deILAcmkk/video.html
It's the only actually funny running joke. The worst are, in this order,
1) friends we made along the way
2) heath ledgers performance
3) John krasinski/mephisto
4) Michael Joseph Jackson
5) legend of the game
First 3 are so painfully horrible
I would 100% love 55 minutes of Mason trying to remember titles of movies.
I was hoping he would just say the wrong movie even though he knew
Replace time crapsule with that on the site
There was a "Kids in the Hall" skit where David Foley was trying to remember the name of the movie, and refused to be told.
I would love to hear him laying out the plot of the movie in excruciating detail only to not get it
Try the Weekly Planet, it’s basically 120 or so minutes of that every single Monday
The fact that there was no Joker review in this episode is MY Joker moment
Evan Hansen was the Joker all along!
I like this comment for Heath Ledgers performance alone
No joker in the last one either. Was a high school musical though. Also you got hit with two comments of pathetic 'I wanna be funny too' comments!
@@jonsvee837 three

Saying that dude looks 30 something is real generous. He looks like he’s old enough to have a kid old enough to play Even Hanson
They famously dropped the storyline where Even Hanson had recovered from a face transplant
@@gedeonnunes5626 I'd watch FaceOff 2
They had a scene where Evan was captured by a wampa on Hoth and got his face clawed but it was cut for time. Would have explained the face though.
Evan*
😂
The best part of this video is I genuinely can’t tell if mason genuinely forgot about the Shining or if it was always a bit
I'm here from Freestyle JohnnyX
Who? This is who
czcams.com/video/n0deILAcmkk/video.html
I think it may have been real. I was watching the footage on screen and it took me entirely too long to get the name out. I even paused to berate myself for not being able to remember the name.
To be fair though, my first instinct was Lawnmower Man.
@@DrKirkDemenz who knows
after a while it was definitely him not remembering stanley kubrick though
@@DrKirkDemenz to be fair, with just the description and without the clips , it could also have easily been misery before the ready player 1 mention.
The Blair Witch one reminded of when me and a friend saw Deadpool at the cinema. The screen blanked out during the finale and the fire alarm came on... Literally everyone sat there like lemons for 5 mins because we all thought it was some 4th wall breaking prank the movie was pulling, until one of the staff came and moved people 🙄
Lemons are well known for just sitting around.
a whole ass fire alarm goes off and nobody moves what😂😂🤣🤣
I pirated Black Adam and halfway through watching it with a mate I was convinced I'd downloaded a leaked early version of it because of how bafflingly awful so much of it was, but nope, that's just the movie.
By mentioning that you've never seen the "Shining" tv miniseries, you are now obligated to do a CoG on the "Shining" tv miniseries. (I remember watching it as a kid and liking it, but I was a dumb kid. I also think the original movie is over-rated, but I am a dumb adult.)
Original is way overrated, although I'm more of a book person
@@dobson. Yeah the book is great
I must have seen the movie a half a dozen times before they did the mini series and I read the book and in the end I think the book works the best. Kubrick's movie is too cold and detached that you realize the plot problems and the mini series didn't have a budget that it would have needed and King was not the same man that he was when he wrote the book. The book gets you to care about the family and understand them so you care. It is scary and you feel the stacks when you read the novel.
@@EhFrank personally I have thrown the book away after spending 3 pages having a secondary character psychoanalyzed trough his tie. I felt my intelligence was insulted.
@@oliviawilliams6204 If your intelligence got insulted from that book then maybe books aren't your thing
As a Letterboxd user I knew that first ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ the moment it was read
I'm shocked he didn't get the get out one! As soon as I saw 'political' we all knew it was get out haha
So that “Evan Hansen visiting the beach that makes you old” was just a random Weekly Planet reference out in the wild?! I love that 😂👍🏽
i'm glad you returned to making the tax season joke, it was sorely missed in this week's podcast episode
Gotta love tax season
So good they had to post it twice
Thought I needed new glasses for a second
The first one got deleted while I was watching it! It’s PC gone mad!
@@_its_lunar_ *Does the video stop when that happens?*
Lmao
I actually totally guessed the Dear Evan Hansen one. That basically is a (terrible) horror framed as an inspirational musical.
I finally broke down and looked up when Tax Day is in Australia. Didn't realize it was literally Halloween!
Did you realise that 31/10 is one of the most common tax days internationally? Countries like Australia, Ireland, Germany, UK etc have their tax on the 31st, other countries have theirs either on the first of May 01/05 or sometime during May.
USA however of course has to have a weird day and has it in April..
@Saline Solution I think they changed it for Covid
@@jonsvee837 It's April 15th in the US.
@@RabbiJoeInJerusalem as mentioned it was extended for Covid, I'll correct it then
@@jonsvee837 No, UK is beginning of April
Thank you Jenny Nicholson for the primer I needed to enjoy this video properly.
What do you mean?
@@nicholasbiddle7893 She does a two hour roast of the movie czcams.com/video/8quWUSZCW5g/video.html
I need you to know that after this video was over, the next suggested video was titled "A needlessly thorough roast of Dear Evan Hansen"
One of Jenny's many fantastic videos. Can confirm it was indeed very thorough.
That vid is great
the fact that i immediately guessed the dear evan hansen one is something i'm deeply ashamed of. i shouldn't hear "mark zuckerburg gollum monster" and be like "oh that's evan hansen". i'm not ok with that at all
That Dear Evan Hanson joke was absolute genius XD
I really like that one movie where Jack Nicholson plays a crazy guy.
Little Shop of Horrors?
Batman?
As Good As It Gets?
Anger Management?
One flew over the cuckoo's nest?
Just started watching but I’m excited to see how many answers are The Joker.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruin. Just kidding I approve of Dear Evan Hansen being the new Joker.
Dear Evan Hansen is the new high school musical, because there was no joker last episode either
Nothing makes me happier than hearing James do his little break of laughter halfway into his recurring bits. Dear Evan Hanson and The Joker are just two great examples.
Solely from the fact that James and Mason are insisting they'll never watch it I would like to see a CoG episode for Dear Evan Hansen now. Would love their takes on it.
Well now I have to become a patron just to attempt to make you two do "Dear Evan Hanson" 💁♂️
I am right in the middle of the Dear Evan Hansen joke and loving that I called it. Even if I get every other one wrong (and I probably will) getting this one right feels great.
Evan Hansen is going to become the new Michael Myers. He probably has a butcher's knife hidden in his cast.
13:14 I was watching an episode of archer where he's complain about his ears ringing from all the gunshots he hears and then there was a shoot out at the agency and my headphones broke and for like 9 minutes I kept thinking "wow they are stretching this out way to much, I get it he has tinnitus"
Got more of these than with Marvel/DC reviews, even if I guessed Joker a few times.
Damn you Evan Hansen
I love how they always call it "The Beach That Makes You Old".
That Halloween review was written by Mr Richard Evans of Milwaukee, WI
It wouldn't surprise me. He just can't stop talking about how much he hates Halloween.
I love Rich, but that dude has shit taste in horror movies.
"Awful, terrible, God isn't real, neither is the Devil"
"Is this also Dear Evan Hansen?"
He got em again with the bloody tax season
The Dear Evan Hansen stuff got me!
I had never heard of Dear Evan Hanse until I saw the trailer at the movie theater a couple months back. Aside from being taken aback by how old the lead looked. I was so baffled by it and the weird plot that when the trailer ended I turned to my friend and said, “So he murdered that other kid right? Because he’s clearly a sociopath.”
This dude sure knows a lot about radio head
I can’t wait for Abbott and Costello to meet Dear Evan Hansen
I’m so happy, I nailed it with Dear Evan Hanson
Who's the bigger player in Planet Broadcasting: The guy who knows everything about Radiohead or The guy who knows everything about Anime?
It's the guy who knows nothing about Star Wars, obviously
@@peterstangl8295 I love when both those characters met at long last in the episode covering the Star Wars anime
Absolutely bamboozled with the Terminator/Alien switcheroo. And I can't even be mad about it, that was clever
idk how much maso would get, but savage reviews of documentaries could be funny
I'm seeing double, four Mr Sunday uploads!
Okay James, name one Radiohead song and don’t you dare say smells like teen spirit. Everyone knows that one
that’s my review at 3:40! thank you so much for the credit and keep up with the great work :)
Okay but the first guy, "Joe Youdan" gave Zodiac a 1/5 so I think we can pretty safely discount his opinions on anything
I am just gonna post stupid reviews on letterboxd till one of my reviews are acknowledged by james
Dear Evan Hansen ACTUALLY made me laugh out loud
First Dear Even Hanson review. I actually said, "imagine if this is Even Hanson. It sounds like it." My shock when I was right. I got none of the rest except the 2nd Hanson one.
Just rewatched the first Nightmare on Elm Street last night after having not seen it for years and I've got to say that while is has not aged well in terms of the effects and the "feel" of modern horror the script is still greatly intriguing and the dynamic between Heather Langenkamp and Robert Englund on screen is incredibly entertaining.
Oh my God how did I not recognize DEH?
You bamboozled me Mr. Scumbag Movies!
Bummed they didn't mention my favorite horror movie; High School Musical 2
Are you a Packers fan?
Yes, I got them all right. Now I await my visit from the horror movie villain Jason Corn of Coblin Maclunky.
I'm excited for this video to pop up in my recommendeds 2-3 years from now when I've completely forgotten about Dear Evan Hansen.
I got all these right except for Dear Evan Haunsen
First review is of the best horror movie ever made. Genius.
I didn't get "Get Out" or either "Alien" review, but I did get "Dear Evan Hansen" each time.
If there was ever an It Follows 2 having the person go to an orgy and then the monster comes and just massacres everyone in the room is a great idea for a scene.
Love how Mason's paranoia over how James plans to trick him grows over each quiz video
Oh shit it’s bloody tax season again!
I'm geniunely very happy that twitter's own Wikipediabrown and I both forgot the name of the shining at the same time.
Between that Scream commentary and these lists, Mason can reckon with the best of them.
The visual editing of this video is hella good. Plus, so many lovely one second clips thrown about.
When Freddie is playing with the power glove and smiles, he looks just like Kryten from Red Dwarf.... I love these review videos!
6:20 the simultaneous "this isn't a trick" is so good
The insane amount of difference between these ppls' reviews/opinions & my own feelings on these films
I knew it was Dear Evan Hansen, and it fully deserves to be on this list
Guest Curator: Lights under the playlists is definitely the one everyone should listen to. Love her.
I'm proud of the fact that I guessed Dear Evan Hansen
I knew that 'Dear Evan Hansen' review the MOMENT that review popped up about it being a horror.
The tax season joke will never get old, it gets me every fucking time and I’m not even Australian
So close to 80% in Melbourne, can’t wait for cinemas to open up and to be able to actually watch something.
Drive ins are open right now if you can't wait till Friday!
I’m a poor Uni student in the CBD, like half of everyone else in Melbourne so unfortunatelyi don’t have a car, but I guess it doesn’t matter because every movie got delayed till November anyway.
Ah that sucks sorry man!
All good, and good luck with the next 2 months, hope to see you at the cinemas.
Genuinely thought that second Evan Hansen review was gonna be The Human Centipede
I saw A Quiet Place 2 in the theaters, and about 1/3rd of the way through the projector cut out. It took all of us way too long to be sure that it wasn't just John Krasinski really committing to the sensory deprivation shtick.
I knew the Dear Evan Hanson one immediately lol
We need a Caravan of Garbage for Dear Evan Hansen
I was getting everything right until the Evan Hansen one. I finally understand Maso's frustration. 😂
The real savage review are the friends we made along the way
I’ve never understood this joke, I used to see it everywhere a while back
The real friends we made along the way turned out to be savage.
I love the “guess the movie from the terrible review” series. I’m sad to see the videos are so inconsistent in positive feedback.
James's pronunciation of PewDiePie is the true horror
I love that I anticipate the Tax Time joke the same way I anticipate West World. With bated breath, that is. Gr8, m8s, just gr8.
My favourite horror movie is Children of the Corn of Coblin
Idk… the sequel, Children of the Corn of Coblin 2: Corn to be Wild was a very worthy follow up.
Great movie
Wasn’t expecting you to challenge me to a dual as the biggest fan of Radiohead right in the middle of the video, but fuck it, there can only be one. Meet me behind the gym and lets get our Radiohead Highlander on.
Well done editor on the Funny Games clip when he said "psychology gross." That movie is so good, but so fucked, and if it's your favorite movie I do have follow up questions.
Well done ladz, another great vid
Dude the 1st 3 scream movies are amazing and the 1st one is so good. I don’t know what else you want from a slasher movies??? Had a good plot and reasoning for it.
Gotta do these for Christmas movies
"How dare [Dear Evan Hansen] stand where [High School Musical] stood"
I was at my Grandma's house and we rented Doctor Strange and when we put it on it was in Black and White and we just assumed it was a special edition. We used the DvD player later for a completely different movie and it was in color.
"Dear Even Hasen is a horror movie" is not the take I was expecting from this video but damn if it isn't true
The real serial killer were these savage reviews, am I right?
Yes.
Double upload babyyyy
My echo heard James say “Alexa” in the ad, so I’ll be sending him a bill for my new Amazon music subscription
I've always gotten money back at tax time, and I pay H&R Block a pittance by comparison to do all the work. It's like a late Christmas present for me lol.
I love being able to tell who edited a video just by the edit. You guys have some really great editors.
Now I want a Caravan of Garbage episode for Dear Evan Hansen
I'm liking the Radiohead running gag. I've never felt more seen.
I can't believe I managed to guess Dear Evan Hanson
"finger foods?" I died
I got the first two right. This has never happened before and I'm so proud 😁
OI JAMES I GUESSED ALL OF 'EM RIGHT! Ah struth Jason's behind me now!
James… you simply must do a “guess the terrible horror movie by the fantastic review” because The Lost Boys, famously terrible movie of the 80s, however it is for the precise reason that it is one of the greatest movies of all time and is currently free in 2 minute clips on CZcams which is very appropriate for the film.
Keep up the awesome job! I know it has to be alot of work(for the editing "team" also) Thanks for all the funny.
A like for that excellent 'and I'm not talking about tax time' bit, never heard such wit before
hearing james try not to laugh for the dear evan hansen bit was great
