Hey , the mid to late 60's weren't bad either !To me , that was the best . Elvis , Beatles , Stones , Who, Pink Floyd , .... I always throw in Collective Soul so my son says WTF ?

1989 as an 18 year old in my mom's car... she was driving me to sign on the dotted line for the Canadian Army and this song was playing. Strangest things you remember.
Prepare to be amazed by the story about how this song was made! The lead singer of Fine Young Cannibals once said in an interview that he took the head off a snare drum and started whacking it with a wooden ruler, recording it through a Shure 57 microphone. He also said he cranked the nob all the way up on the [API 550] EQ to around 1 kHz to the point where it was starting to sound more like a crash. He also blended that sound with a snare which was already formatted into the 12-bit Linn drum machine. Then the sound was pumped, processed and sampled through an Auratone speaker set upside down atop another snare drum, which rattled the metal snares and gave some ambience and even more high end sound. The whole thing was limited slightly and then sent to a track on a roll of Ampex 456 running on a Studer A800 at 15 ips. Only a slight amount of reverb was added to the track later on. The sonic result was closer to a hollow wood block sound than any snare found on a conventional rock record.
"She Drives Me Crazy" is one of Fine Young Cannibals' most iconic songs, released in 1988. It's from their second album, "The Raw & the Cooked." The track is known for its catchy melody, Roland Gift's distinctive vocals, and a memorable high-pitched snare drum sound. The song achieved great commercial success, reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming a hit in numerous other countries as well. The music video, featuring the band performing with various visual effects and close-ups of Roland Gift, also gained significant attention. The song's lyrics depict intense emotions and longing in a romantic relationship.
I love this.. When I first heard this, I was an awkward teenager back in the 70s..I still feel that way but thankfully people like Phil Spector gave us hope by letting us know that we are all the same..
