My concern about Trump being president is he will interfere in some of our campaigns and be successful in shutting it down. He can do so much more to swash decent. Also I don’t think he will care to play within the rules of democracy. The best we can hope for is that he will be too preoccupied with his trails and court hearing to have any bandwidth for us. He can still delegate that to someone more competent. I expect it will be bad. Either way it’s going to be a rough road ahead.

IRN wants to keep them strong militarily so Isr and Arabs recognizes them politically. As you know the west only knows the language of power. You may claim IRN Sunni minority are under oppression. The problem is it’s not as simple and true as you think. Supreme leader has helped them financially to establish educational schools, but their leaders get influenced by the neighboring separatists easily ( funded by Arab leaders and US) and cause violence and attacking government places. The reason is separatists want to keep the border insecure to avoid business flows. This avoids investment, keep young people poor, a good labor market for separatists to work for them and keep the border insecure. The other part is cultural differences that the regional leaders have more influence over government up to some point government respect them.

"served our country honorably" is already cursed yankee speak imo. As long as military service is deified, so will be the crimes of the empire. He is ok because he turned against the empire, not because he served its rotten interests.
