Perhaps you are not aware, you are supposed to sell it through Karnataka Forest Dept only. They process it, auction various parts to industries etc and then give you about 90% of the proceeds. The processing cost, auction process etc ensures you get only 55-60% of the market rate. If the farmers are allowed to take the trees directly to the processors or the market, the benefit will be much higher. Farmers can't even export it legally.
