    If they'll ever make "Tales of the clones" or something, it's a nice opportunity to make Scorch a protagonist and show how exactly he changed.

    About 14 years later and we still have no idea what happened to the Zillo Beast or why Palpatine wanted it. It shows up in Bad Batch for 2 episodes and then disappears again. I refuse to believe that this was always the plan. The writers have to have had something in mind for it, but then the show was cancelled prematurely. Bad Batch season 2 ended on a note that suggested that the real story was just beginning. I thought we would get many more seasons, and the show would just keep getting better and better. Hemlock was introduced as this big character, but he never really did anything.

    Although it was Disney and particularly Filoni's decision, Scorch's presence in the Bad Batch is regarded as controversial. I know that he is the fan favorite clone commando that they wish him to defect, but he is the fanatical and remained loyal to Hemlock and the Empire to the end and like most other commandos, he is not easy to desert like Gregor and Scorch's death got understandably fans upset. Another thing that upset some fans that he has cold personality unlike the game counterpart where he displayed his sense of humor. However, in my honest opinion is I like the change of his personality from wisecracker (if he has one in canon) to cold and obedient soldier either because of Sev's MIA (maybe or maybe not) and this inhibitor chip and I accept the fact that Scorch is truly dead, but his death bothered me for several factors; 1. It was too easy, 2. he did not have deflector shield, and 3, if I see correctly, in real life, soldiers usually take position around the perimeter to look out for the enemy if they are trying to shoot it down during the helicopter extraction, but here, Scorch do not do that by watching their back, 4. have him fall down after getting shot and instead he should just lay on the floor, making fans speculate that he is alive. Besides, if Filoni truly wanted him alive, I wouldn't write about him falling make a different scenario. Another thing I wanted to point out that Scorch never display his demolition expertise, neither use IEDs nor grenade launcher of his DC-17 rifle. His reassignment as Hemlock's right hand man and bodyguard wasted his talent.
    For people who do not like Scorch to be here, I feel Fixer should be more suitable for he has cold and gruff personality who believes in following orders from Boss and the Clone advisor as shown in game and never refuse them (not counting on the in-game mechanic issues such as refuse to get on the turret because there's a proximity mine a way, for example) and do the job by the book.

    When you suffer a loss, you at first try to shut himself from it, but that does not heal you, it only distracts you. He shut himself from what happened, away from the rest of his team, which is only a reminder of the loss and with the service to newly created Empire. No more goofy, excitable Scorch, but a hollow shell who only follows orders, even protecting remorseless maniacs, until only a sweet release of death rescues him (which believing 15:24 did not happen because maybe self-preservation kicked in). In the end it was not the chip that changed Scorch for worse. He did that to himself, because unlike Bad Batch who mastered their loss of Tech, he let his own loss (if that's about Sev if canon) master him.

    • @taiwandxt6493
      @taiwandxt6493 Před měsícem +2

      Clone Commandos were the best soldiers in the GAR and in canon unlike Legends they seem to be far more loyal than the regular clones, so it's natural for the Empire to keep them around for longer, using them in training the TK troopers and guarding their most secretive facilities. You can argue that it is shortsightedness on the Empire's (And the writers') part but you have to remember that there are around 5,000 Clone Commandos out there during this time. So, it's very likely that these are just one division of Commandos which were given these responsibilities and that there are others out there who are probably doing moreso what they were trained to do. Squads were likely broken up in order to mitigate the risk of successful defection, so while Scorch is here, Boss and Fixer might be somewhere else doing more Commando type missions.

      @taiwandxt6493 Před měsícem

      I don't think it was just pointless fan service to actually keep him in seasons 2 and 3. In season 1, it absolutely was just fan service. I think there is more to it than just that. I think the inclusion of Scorch as just the cold and loyal minion of Hemlock is to just further show the tragedy of the clones in the transition from the Republic to the Empire. Scorch, the goofy and humorous Commando that we know him to be from Star Wars: Republic Commando being reduced to how we see him in the Bad Batch is made to further represent to more diehard fans what the Empire has turned the Clones into, more specifically with the Clone Commandos.
