- Fighting in Gaza has intensified again today, including in the southern city of Rafah, despite international calls for Israel to show restraint.
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted his forces would press on - saying efforts to root out another four Hamas battalions could take weeks.
While Palestinians have been marking the anniversary of what they call the 'Nakba' or catastrophe - when hundreds of thousands were forced to flee their homes during the 1948 war surrounding Israel's creation.

The response was disproportionate on the war they started. Never heard any pro Palestinians protesters denouncing Hamas rather in some instances supporting them.
That’s because Hamas has an internationally recognised right to armed defense. An illegal occupying force does not which is why only the western led world recognise Israel’s right to defense.
