    If fender were putting these out with all the high grade features and built quality, i reckon we would be getting charged £1500+ easy. I'm a fender fan boy but they don't do anything exciting these days except put their prices up. The only thing you get back that is any value for your money is the name on the headstock and the made in America title. Fender need to realise that brands are now building better guitars at cheaper prices that are not built in America. Go Sire, beautiful guitars at beautiful prices!!

    Over a years time, I bought (new & used) one of each of the Sire 7 series guitars trying them all out (including the T7FM). I was so impressed each time I got one. My favorite "go to" is the exact same red T7, although I play all the others at different times, but that Telly is really special.

  • @nellayema2455
    @nellayema2455 Před rokem +15

    That's a beauty. I like the finish on the fingerboard. Action height is subjective, but as long as one can lower it to one's preference w/o introducing string buzz, it's a non-issue, IMO. As for weight, I think we're getting kind of caught up in a fad regarding weight, unless one is a gigging musician. As the guy @ Casino Guitars said yesterday, "It doesn't matter for most people because most people are playing sitting in their living room." That describes me, but yeah, given the choice when buying online, I pick the lighter one. if I'm checking some out in person, I go for the one with the best sound and feel in the hands. I don't really notice the weight unless it is either really light, or significantly heavier than the rest, but if the heavy one sounds better, I'm buying it.

    I've owned 2 Sire basses and I can definitely say that they are worth the money nowadays. The first bass - a gen 1 V7 jazz - had it's fair share of problems, but it was still a pretty solid bass. The one I have now is a gen 3(?) P5R and it's absolutely amazing. I'm thinking of trying one of their Strat models as my first Sire guitar, but the bodyshape is horrendous. The Tele models look much better! Their ES-335 models also look really good, so maybe I should go for one of those.

    The Radiohead riffs are strong on this one (sounds great, btw - I give it an A+ out of 10!) :D - Does the neck pickup strike you as a bit of bass-heavy? Too bad about the single coil routing for the neck pickup. Thanks for the deep-dive video! very useful

    My new Sire S7 Strat type arrived last week. It is a VERY different instrument than the Fender/Squier guitars, but the quality is first-rate, regardless of the price That's likely because they design and build everything themselves in their own production facilities. BTW, if you don't know Larry Carlton, check out his work on the Steely Dan song "Kid Charlemagne." It's considered by many to be up there among the finest rock lead guitar playing of all time.

As stated, the fit/finish is flawless and the pickups are great. Bone nut, rolled finger board edges, cloth wiring, flawless fret-work. And at THIS price? Fender (and Suhr) has some 'splaining to do.

  • @Garflips
    @Garflips Před rokem +8

    My impression is that guitars are always set up with higher action at the factory or even at the store when it could be set a smidge lower. Reason being is that people don't always realize that temperature changes, tuning, string gauges - all these things have an effect on the action and I imagine that many guitars are returned because of a bit of string buzz because the factory setting was a bit too low so it's better not to risk that. What matters is a straight neck or a slightly bowed neck (which actually you do want a hair of bow) that can be brought straight very easily with the truss rod adjustment. I have purchased dozens of guitars over my 66 years of age and I have never NOT had to tweak the action to my liking. Never. But I am very comfortable at making my own adjustments which include all the usual stuff, filing nuts, filing bridges, shims etc. More players need to learn basic setup. I've had friends struggling with an acoustic guitar that was actually decent and they thought it was junk simply because it needed a setup. Cheers... And you're funny by the way.

I came back to see if you looked under the hood. I was hoping for a center space routed out to add a pickup. Too bad there is not. It would have been sweet to drop in a humbucker or a Strat type pickup up the road. Maybe i will do it one day. For now..i really like my T7 and I got it NEW for 476 euro ($521).

You can rough up the neck to make it feel smoother, but the fretboard is something most people wouldn't feel comfortable doing themselves. Unless something changed, Sire guitars and basses are made in Korea in Sire's factory

      @@douglasholdenjr.45 Well I had no idea to be fair, I really thought it would be along the lines of the other "also ran" brands that get lots of attention from time to time. I think you really do know what I meant.

      The Andertons channel cover them a lot, if that’s useful.

      I took the leap and got an H7. Instantly bonded with it. The quality makes the Epiphone ES look like Glarry.

    Almost ordered one until I saw the PT Schecter review. Also I worked on a buddy’s sire bass and it didn’t sound good to me. Not that this a bad guitar cuz it looks and sounds sweet but the Schecter PT is really amazing.

    If I got one of those I would have to take the neck off and send it to mjt guitars and have that gloss stripped off, I can't believe gloss finish on that neck

    • @gscgold
      @gscgold Před 9 měsíci

      @zackpack8 doesn't need any finish , just like a rosewood fret doesn't, also...I'm not sure if you're aware but not everyone likes the same thing..I'm allowed to not like finish on something that doesn't need finish lol.

    Looks good, but something about that neck isn't jiving with me visually. It's not the shape of the headstock, but rather the color of the roasted maple. It almost looks prefabricated or something. Maybe it's just how it looks through my laptop screen.

    Still no forearm contour?
    I have 10 Teles of various makes. Only one came originally with the contour. Playing steadily for several hours causes nerve issues in my forearm as the sharp edge is just too much.
    Haven't any manufacturers been enlightened enough to alter this issue?

    Yeah...they're all a bit too heavy for me...however all their models have beautiful rolled fretboard. Really well made instrument.

    Great video, not so sure about the guitar though sounds like a budget Tele at least on the surface, I may be wrong. Doesn't have that well rounded bell like Tele sound at all. Actually, it does sound a bit like the ceramic Squiers on the high gain setting. Also, try left hand string muting instead of right hand ;), just let go the left hand strings slack to get your muted chords.

    I like them but they are all over 8 lbs . I'm very happy under 7lbs. I really like the red. I would be perfect with a Phil X Flipstick tremelo arm.

    Can you review the Hartwood fifty6 electric guitar? The single pickup version.
    Would be a cool video!
