    The book is, simply put, a masterclass in suspense and mystery. Hard to believe that it was released almost 80 years ago and it still holds up amazingly well. I first read it about two years ago and it was such an amazing experience reading it at night, before going to bed. It's so perfectly crafted and the climax of the book is thrillingly chilling. The only thing I did not quite like was the epilogue where the true mastermind behind the crimes is revealed. I would've preferred to be left with the uneasiness that comes after finishing the book, albeit for a few minutes or hours before going online to find out all about it. However, I understand why it is there and it doesn't affect the enjoyability of the book in the slightest. A must read for any suspense and mystery aficionado, and for any person in general. One of the best books ever written.

    • @hepic2874
      @hepic2874 Před 2 lety +4

      It is possible to solve it without the epilogue, the epilogue was put in for convenience.
      When there are 6 people you see everyone's thoughts, and work out Blore is not u n owen. Then Emily Brent has not commited a crime inside the law so her death proves the killer is completely psychopathic.
      When there are 5 people you see everyone's thoughts again, and can identify Vera is also not up to no good, leaving lombard, Armstrong and Wargrave. You can assume Armstrong suspects the girl, lombard wanders about the revolver and wargrave is up to something.
      Earlier we heard about there being a suspicious thing going on and someone being tricked, prominent conversations include wargrave and Armstrong, and lombard and Vera.
      We can eliminate Vera so it is most likely that wargrave is the killer as everything lines up with him, his psychopathic nature of being able to kill people, tricking Armstrong, faking his death and eliminating everyone else.
      That is how I believe it is possible to solve and then there were none.

    • @amalsunil4722
      @amalsunil4722 Před 2 lety +8

      You're right, but I couldn't agree the fact that someone to could fake death and stay there unnoticed, especially when the victims were on high alert mode. Even through the doctor played along and told the man is dead, others would easily notice something is off.... apart from that yea the book did a great job in building suspense and giving no hint about the murderer.

    • @edisonlima4647
      @edisonlima4647 Před rokem +1

      @@hepic2874Just one thing: under the letter of the law, most of them hadn't committed a murder, exactly, that's why they all got away with it and "had" to be taken through "other means"
      They were all morally responsible for the deaths they caused, but hardly provable, or in some cases, even considered a crime at the time.

    • @prohorova166
      @prohorova166 Před 6 lety +9

      resarious well, if i'm not mistaken, the plot line of this couple was changed for this little show. in the books that woman just needed medicines, and neither Mr. Rogers, nor his wife gave it. They didn't give it on purpose ('cause this old lady would leave them a small inheritance), they wanted her to die, but to other people it just looked like an accident, nothing suspicious, the servants just weren't too fast. In the show it's really strange, Mrs. Rogers didn't have to do anything with this murder, and yet she was killed for it. Pretty strange

    • @resarious6225
      @resarious6225 Před 6 lety +8

      bronnoly yea, but here she saw her husband killing the woman, and was too afraid of him to tell anyone or the authorities about it. Which makes her withholding evidence which is also a crime, so it makes her guilty (in the eyes of the law at least). Thats also why she died second (and peacefully thank god) , cause its the most passive crime, yet also equally damaging.

    I read the book in the German translation with the N-word in the poem and the name of the island... a new edition from 2020 with a preface on why it was "impossible" to translate it without the racist slurs, and how the whole meaning of the book would be gone without the racism or whatever. Bullshit. The solution with "soldier boys" and "soldier island" is really good and I think there must be a similar solution in German, too. Even the French edition got rid of it recently. There is no excuse for laziness and ignorance.

    Anyone can provide me the link to watch this exact movie?
    I've watched two Lebanese adaptations 😍🇱🇧
    The first is from 1974 which follows the exact same story line as the book.
    Another from 2014 which has different characters and deaths and ending.
    The songs were so catchy 😍

    Wait a second, when Wargrave tricked Armstrong to make the other guest think that he's dead and his faked death required Lombard's pistol, why didn't Armstrong become suspicious of why he have the pistol beforehand?

    • @benawesomebw1197

      General x Productions no, war grave got Armstrong to help him fake his death to confuse the murderer. Once done they both went outside and war grave pushed Armstrong of the cliff.
