good video. but you missed an important part namely how to log the oyster card into the system. It is already registered with you and some will not benefit from it at all ... even such people exist who are not skilled with applications

Thanks, I believe you are the only one with a video of the TFL app. Honestly, I am a little bit disappointed that you still need to buy a physical card first to use this app. I was hoping they would have created virtual oyster cards that you could pay by touching your phone (NFC). Would have been such a winner for visitors, or regular users alike, no issue with losing the card, time saving and not to mention greener for the planet? 🤔
Honestly, I haven't seen any improvement on the app since I worked on this video. I believe they either 1) didn't want to put much effort into it (hence no updates) or 2) they wanted to put people away from Oyster cards. Perhaps Tfl thought "you can already pay with Google pay and apple pay, let them use this if they want no cards".
We can only guess.

I think it's best to also get an offline map, because this app use Internet, I'd you are inside the Tu e then you can use you off line map app.
Once you are inside the tube you'll be fine. There are plenty of maps at the platforms and in every train. But you can never be too insured 😉

Bank card is a great option. Not only for the reason you've stated :)

Yes, you can use apple pay or Google pay. But not this app.

I don't think you can do that through the app but I've done that in the past through the tfl website where you register your card

No. You can't pay anywhere with the oyster card. It's only for tapping.

Hi, years later I have added this app. I have a contactless card on here only. I need to buy a weekly travel card but links are taking me everywhere but to buy the travel card. You can't do it with the app unfortunately. I would just go and travel contactless if it's an option.

With this app do you have to take your Oyster card with you or can the app use NFC recognition for travel
Unfortunately it is a very basic app and does not work with NFC. You will still need your Oyster Card
I can sign in using my account but I can’t add my Oyster card, it says its already registered. What should I do?
If it's already registered then you should be able to see it.
Maybe you're looking at the wrong place.
I’ve just topped up and it says collect at refer after 30 minutes. What does this mean ?
When you tap in on any reader, that was considered collecting. Should be still the same

Try the one of your hotel
The minimum top up £10 , in the shop you can top up what you owe and not £10 minimum

You know when you top up from the app, do you need to touch it onto the yellow reader on the bus or in a corner shop then the bus?
Once you top up than you are ready to use. No need to tap anywhere to activate the top up :)

Hi, could you explain how to make bus and train popup in the app? The option appears but then it only appears that it is by bus and the £21.90, I need to recharge for bus and train weekly.

What will happen If you forget to touch at exit when travelling in southeastern trains
you will be charged the maximum fee. so if u r travelling from zone 3 to zone 2, you will be charged as you travelled to zone 1.
you can call the customer service and discuss that with them. they usually issue you a refund.
But what do you actually do when you get on a bus? There doesn't seem to be a barcode on the "card" displayed on the app which can be scanned? I've just arrived in London. Have downloaded the app and added a contactless card.

The app is only to manage your cards (put money on them and see your journeys). You cannot use it for traveling

The way you add a card on the app is by entering the number of the card into the app. Try entering the number on your zip card :)

you do not use this application to pay anywhere. You use the application to manage your cards

Oh, I thought you mean paying while travelling. You can use your phone to put money in your oyster card or buy weekly/monthly travelcards through the app
