Is this something that you have to have a current phone to use? My smartphone is almost 8 years old and doesn't read qr codes.
If it has a camera and you can install apps, it can read QR codes.
NFC requires hardware support (a coil in the phone etc), QR codes just use your camera and software :)
You can buy a newer phone for under $100 bro.. why carry an 8 yr old phone

Kool automation . My iPhone 11 doesn’t scan the nfc tags . Although Apple Pay works . No clue . But it’s nice video .

your phone is the thing that has created the tag so it doesn't work with other phones. If you wanted it to then you could just share the shortcut

The phone is reading the NFC tag id, the program is on the phone, not the tag
Basically you're telling your phone "if this then that"
