There's always that one bug in the system. It's the one that's always the cool one. 😎
From how I gather it, each symbiote has access to such knowledge but doesn’t store it personally. Kinda like us humans with the internet. They can recognise and remember things when needed, but don’t have every bit of info all the time.
It’s why Venom recognised Spider-Man on the tv, despite never having met Peter in his own universe. He’s drawing on the hive knowledge that connects across the multiverse, not just their specific timeline/universe.

Peggy Lu is phenomenal in this clip. While I love her as Mrs. Chen, her performance here as Venom is exemplary. While it’s obviously not her voice, her physical performance as Venom matches the character exactly (at least as far as he’s portrayed in these films).
Mrs. Chen needs a symbiote and have her own movie. She's hilarious.

EDIT 2: As it turns out, I DID remember that right! Brad Venable did some of the voicework for Venom, but he was left uncredited.
Yeah, I think they did way too much with this movie. Like they tried too hard. The first Venom was a surprise success people really loved it so when it came time to do the sequel the writers just went over the top with this script, doing too much with the CGI, voices, excetera. Like I said they tried too hard
And Venom even PURRS while Anne is buttering him up! Purrs ..in Mrs Chen's body and expressions! That is... Fantastic

Whats awesome here is that chen willingly bonds with venom. Theres no possession. He's not off partying using her as a meat suit. Hes just chilling doing what she wants. Venom actually respects her.

While not accurate to the comics, I do like this interpretation of Annie. When she first finds out about Venom, she approached this issue with a "Well, I guess this is thing I just have to deal with now" and is more than willing to communicate with Venom to get the job done. Not only that, she does not put up with Venom's bullshit and is will to play to its ego to persuade it. Good character, IMHO.
I'm also glad they didn't kill her off (or have her kill herself off) like in the comics. I think it's interesting how she's both terrified and thrilled whenever she gets to take the symbiote for a spin. She can't decide whether she hates or loves it, what with the head-eating versus the power kick. They also don't go the predictable route and have her leave her new boyfriend so the hero can get the girl. It makes for a unique and complicated relationship dynamic between all of them.
@@kyransawhill6650 well Eddie's whole character is to be miserable. Which is why he can't decide if he is a good guy or a bad guy. One of the reasons why I liked king in black so much
I like how hurt Venom sounds after his fight with Eddie. He might be an alien but an alien who has a feelings. And nobody likes it when his or her feelings are hurt.

Venom's "No one likes you." Makes me like Dan even more so in this movie then I already did with the first movie because of the fact he broke so many of the cliche semi stereotypes you get when thinking about the new boyfriend. He was never at any point antagonistic with Eddie and I still vividly remember that Lobster scene from the first movie where he covered for him and told one of the workers NOT to call the cops. He is my favorite character in these movies more so than even the main ones. We need more Dans out THERE

You understand that Venom only hated him because he thought Dan would take Anne away from him who he sees as a good secondary host. Later in the movie he realized Dan was a neutral person so he didn’t mind if both are together. Eddie and Venom’s primary common trait is that they are self centered.
When I started the movie, I was worried they were gonna ruin his character, but I realized as Eddie was talking to Anne at the restaurant that she was probably gonna reveal that they're actually engaged. So I was glad to see they didn't go the predictable route of the new boyfriend being a jerk and dumping her just so the hero could get the girl in the end. It makes for an interesting relationship dynamic between all of them and I hope to see more of it in the next film (and also how Eddie's and Venom's relationship evolves now that they're being more open and 'symbiotic' with each other; I think this will make it easier for them to move on from Anne and maybe they can even double date or something).
Venom is like a child with Eddie and Anne as his parents, Ms. Chen as his grandma and Dan as the Step Dad
EDIT: Yeah I get the comparison for Anne seems weird considering how flirtatious she sounded to Venom. But the match didn’t come from that aspect, it was how she used his ego/flattery to convince him to do what Anne says, knowing full well how Venom is. Plus the scolding was very mom like too
