4D Tech Auto Start-Stop Eliminator For Bronco - Better Than Tricking Forscan IMO

  • Tired of pushing the Auto Star-Stop button every time you start your vehicle. I was in my F-150 and my Bronco. The Forscan options just trick the computer in some way, but this solution from 4D Tech, just memorizes the last position of the switch and automatically turns it off for you. Just like you pushing the button every time you start your vehicle. A much better solution IMO.

For my older F-150 Forscan would trick the battery charging system into thinking it was too low to turn off the vehicle or something like that. This actually turned off smart charging from what I read, which did not sound good.
For the new Bronco, the Forscan option just tricked the computer into thinking the wheel was turned too far for Auto Stop to activate. This did not seem like an ideal long term solution.
Just having a device that pushed the button for me every time the vehicle starts seemed like the best option. For the older F-150 the 4D Tech solution just plugs into the OBD2 port. For the newer Bronco and many other newer vehicles you do need to pull the dash panel and actually wired the solution in behind. On the Bronco it took me about 20 minutes to install the 4D Tech Auto Start-Stop Eliminator. Well worth the time for me.
I hope this video is helpful.
Just to be clear, we are not sponsored and we paid full retail for these parts. Just sharing what we are actually doing on our Bronco.
Thanks for watching Bad To The Stone

I hate the auto start/stop. I always think something went wrong with the vehicle. I disabled my wife's F150 through the tuner. I definitely don't miss it

@Highvolt71 - Could not agree more. Was happy to find a solution I like to override this and make it like it is not even there unless I decide one day I want it again. Glad you found a solution for your F-150 that worked for you. Thanks for the comment.

I’m curious why everyone is doing the hardwired version of this and not the FORScan version? Seems like the FORScan option is better?

@texasgrillchef8581 - Fair question. For me if Forscan had the equivalent option of just pushing the button I would have done that. But as I understand it Forscan is just tricking the system. In the case of the Bronco I believe it tells it the wheels are turned to far so don’t activate the auto stop. Seems an odd way to do it and I liked this option better. Can still have it if I want.

@@BadToTheStonehahaha. Why the fuck do you care how forscan eliminates it if it eliminates it? Wtf?

@@hadtocheathimtobeathim6549 - He asked me why. Given the choice I liked this option better. On the older Fords like my 2016 truck the forscan option tricks it by saying the batter is low on charge and that messes up the smart charging feature. I was buying one for the truck and 20% off if I bought 2. Seemed like a good solution. 😁

@@hadtocheathimtobeathim6549 I don’t recall all the details just a better way to maintain your battery charge and not overcharge it. When looking into over riding the start stop with forscan I found some videos on it and it did not seem ideal. Some videos even claim disabling it can cause a battery fire? Not sure about that but seemed worth avoiding. Do a quick search and should not be hard to find more info on it. I am not an expert on that by any means.

So buying a gadget and all that work is better than just quickly turning off auto start manually? 🙄

@TheCobraKommander - For me it was worth it. The number of times I forget to turn it off until the first stop etc. I think it will save my starter and battery over time. And it took 25 minutes. Thanks for the comment.
