    Great video! Any tips on routing that can take some slack out of cable
    It’s brand new cable pieces and it has bunch of slack and that makes no sense to me. Yours looks great and u didn’t have to really adjust at top that I saw.

      If the throttle has some play in it, there is the in line adjuster near the throttle housing end and also on the top of the carburetor. If the black cable is long, compare the routing to some factory images on google. I once made a routing mistake where the cable runs through the forks/behind number plate. Hope that helps.

    Got a new carb. Went to run the cable through the carb and connect it. It seems i do not have enough cable. I bought this bike used. Kind of wondering if it is not an OEM part. Seems like cable it way too short

      I ran into this one time. It turned out I router the cable wrong. Google an oem yamaha photo of the pw50 to confirm you routed the cable correctly from the handlebars down to the frame.

    How do you get the cable through the the top of the carb on the brass slide side not the pin side since it's a horizontal o instead of a vertical o?

    Every cable I've ordered comes up 1 inch short no matter how the cable is routed. Where is the best place to buy new cable and carb? Almost everything I find online says it's OEM but is just Chinese junk

      I’ve run into this before! Check the cable routing from handle bars to frame. Google images a pic of a pw50 and make sure you went the correct route.

    I just installed new cables and now when I start the bike it’s like it’s full throttle now touching anything. The needle and sleeve move freely in the carb. I am tried adjusting damn near everything. Any ideas?

    • @AndrewDeVries211
      @AndrewDeVries211  Před rokem

      I had this issue but my sleeve was getting hung up. Had to lightly sand it down.
      Check everything in line from the throttle tube to the carb. The cable at Carb and throttle both have adjustment screws to add or remove slack. My bet is the sleeve. It can actually be installed and fit while being wide open. Double check to make sure it’s aligned in the correct grove and doesn’t have any imperfections that’s hanging it up.

      So I finally figured out the cable is too short! I bought a cable assembly from the local bike shop. It’s not a OEM part. They assured me it would fit. I removed the jam but on the adjustment section and it let the needle seat enough to control the throttle properly. Thanks for the help! Good job on the video!

    I bought a pw50 and thought the throttle cable was stretched so bought a new one, I've just fitted it and there's loads of slack, I have fully adjusted the screw witch took up some slack but there's still a bit left? I'm about ready to bin the whole bike ha ha.

      I’ll attempt to help 😂
      1. Did you buy and oem cable with the 3 ends (throttle housing, carb, oil pump)?
      2. Is it an aftermarket cable?
      If your oil pump is removed and you just have a straight cable from throttle to carb, there is also an adjustment for the cable where it screws into the carb. You could also try that adjustment with the oem cable setup I bet.

    Why did you reinstall the oil injection?

    • @AndrewDeVries211
      @AndrewDeVries211  Před 3 lety

      My son raced it in the 50 shaft class. One of the rules is to have the oil injection installed. I put it back in to play by the rules. It ran just fine without it.

    • @AndrewDeVries211
      @AndrewDeVries211  Před 3 lety

      At 4:09 you can see there is an adjuster on the throttle cable. The more you unscrew the adjuster the more slack it will take out of the throttle cable.

      @@AndrewDeVries211 The OEM cable I ordered did not come with a new adjustment nut. I noticed yours didn't either. It looks like you purchased that piece separately (the old in your video is silver, and the new is black). Is that correct? I need to order that piece found in the carb part diagram...?
